Hey there David! Just got my DMX USB Pro with a couple fixtures today! Very excited to start learning how to live program lighting to my music! Thank you for all of the help so far!!
Is there a way to copy banks between shows? I'm wanting to bring over some automation from a previous show, but I can't figure out how to copy between.
You setup EMU to output Art-Net to your wifi or Ethernet adapter, and then Capture should be able to pick it up. Worst case, install the Microsoft Loopback adapter (Google for instructions), and you should be able to point both there for Art-Net and they will connect.
Hey David. Did you ever work out how to save the programs correctly? I did but had to reinstall after a bug and have now forgotten and can't find anything online! For example - programs set (on straight forward 4 bar lighting tee) red (program 1) orange (prog 2) yellow (prog 3.) I program Red colour for first program then save, program Orange for 2nd and find my first progam is now Orange too! It's not saving the values! Help would be appreciated. TIA.
Can EMU react to an Audio Track outputting from my laptop to my Mixer? I have my DMX Pro and when I'm in EMU I can see my soundcard selected and the EQ bars are moving, I just don't seem to see any real changes to the Par Lights I have connected to it from song to song
Hey Hawk! Yes, EMU is sound reactive and the Sound Tracker will allow you to do the above - Remember to set your audio input device in the audio settings.
Hey David, I've been using D-Pro on my pro mk2 for 5 or so years. The sheer fact that this is newer software makes me consider changing it up. My biggest complaint so far with D-Pro is that pan and tilt are linked (pan only palettes and tilt only palettes aren't possible). I understand that emu is really intended to replace DMXis, but I'd be interested in your thoughts on Emu vs D-pro
It really depends on what your use case is. I would probably look at LightKey or a pro-grade software like ONYX to replace D-Pro, from your brief description I can tell that what you are doing to too complex for EMU.
Hola @@LearnStageLighting I have an enttec pro Mk 2. I will use EMU for now for small concerts, but for theatrical on windows what should I use? ONYX discontinued enttec use.
Hello David! Thank you so much for all the educational content you put out there. I am a current LSL subscriber. I can’t wait for EMU box to come out, I have already purchased the DMX USB PRO (exchange program), included in the Basic Band lighting package. My question is, will I be able to control the lights, while playing in the band during a live show, either by using a footswitch or just in between songs and clicking the EMU program running on my computer. What is the best way to do that. I am a complete newbie to lighting. Thanks again. Cheers!!
Unfortunately this software is unuseable with Logic Pro as it stands. They're working to fix it, but the fact that they're charging for this software when it still has big issues is disappointing
What are you using for visualization?
Does EMU have the preset shapes for moving lights (I.e. figure 8) that dmxis had?
How do you virtually see your lights?

Maybe I missed this, but is there a way to set different durations for programs? Or a sleep mode for a light that’s running continuously?
I don't believe so, you'd probably want to look at other options for your control.
Hi mate, thanks for the video!
I've got one question: how did you connect Capture to EMU? Thanks.

Does this program have an on/off flash button? For when lights can be toggled only when a midi button is pressed and of when I let go?
Yes, when you map MIDI to a button it works exactly like that

Exactly my question Mark.
I am content with D-Pro, though it bugs me that there won’t be anymore updates.

You can use a footswitch (MIDI), or click. Your pick!
