    I currently have a Casio A163W. Been wearing it daily for the past 3 years and aside from normal wear scratches on the stainless steel bracelet and plastic/resin screen/case there's absolutely nothing wrong with it. Probably my next watch will be Timex T80. As far as I know the glass is mineral so won't scratch so easily and presumably the case is stinless steel as well. The Casio is a cheaper model. Anyways I am looking to buy it in silver because it's nearly twice as cheap as the golden version where I live, and on the other hand I don't really like the color of gold. Cheers and thanks for the video.

    I had an older version of the T80 in gold and burgundy that lost one of the buttons after 7 years of use. Couldn’t find a replacement of that exact model but ended up getting the newer silver and gold/gray version. When comparing the two the gold/gray version had a different back plating case. The silver is similar to the one in your video while the gold has a heavier/nicer screw on backing.
    Nice summary though. It’s a great watch!

    It’s a “beads of rice” bracelet. Super popular in the 60s and 70s

      I love that style. I bought one from Straps Co (not strapcode, different company) and it's one of my favorites.

    There is stainless steel version in my country selling for 60€, brand new. Is it worth it? I like the watch but read on forums that they often have some quality issues with those models.

      Great watch. I haven't had it for a while but I would not be opposed to buying another one.

    I’m curious if you know if there is anyway to have the am/pm displayed on this Watch. It only appears on the screen while setting the hour from what I have seen. Also do you k ow if the crystal is mineral glass?

    • @degenerateWA
      @degenerateWA  Рік тому +1

      The crystal is acrylic. Not sure about the AM/PM indication as I keep my watches all on 24hr time.

    Curious, can you switch it out of 24 hour time? Also, is that indiglo backlight always on, or do you have to press a button to turn it on/ off?

    • @degenerateWA
      @degenerateWA  2 роки тому +1

      Yes you can shift between 12/24 hour time, and the backlight only comes on if you press a button.

      The finishing is still like it was at the beginning, but to be fair I have not put this watch through any kind of serious abuse

    I wanted to ask you, were the buttons stiff when you bought it? I bought the same one, and the buttons are stiff and I have to press very hard for them to work. I’ve been thinking of returning the watch.

      I dont know exactly what it's rated for. These digital watches usually last anywhere from 5-8 years depending on how much you use the backlight and alarm.

      @@degenerateWA Well gibbon wrists go very nicely with the smaller vintage watches of the 50's and before. But as for G shocks, (except for the squares) not so much.
