Because those who remained in Jerusalem would endure 7 months of siege warfare from the Roman Army before that rapture/resurrection happened. Jesus tells them on his way to Golgotha, "Daughters of Jerusalem, weep not for me, but weep for yourselves, and for your children. For, behold, the days are coming, in the which they shall say, Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that never bare, and the paps which never gave suck. Then shall they begin to say to the mountains, Fall on us; and to the hills, Cover us." (Luke 23:28-30).

It occurred in Petra, at a time when the house of Israel stopped writing and Josephus was still at the Masada in AD73 when it happened (who recorded what happened during the destruction of the temple). So no one was able to record it, to leave anything for us.

8:00-8:22 - No, the Bible says the Jews accept Moshiach Ben David during the end of days (Hosea 3:5). Moschiach Ben David does not appear again until he is welcomed back by Israel. Has yet to happen. Psaalm 118:26 --> Luke 13:34-35 --> Hosea 3:5
Psalms 118 is a hymn they sung during the feast days. They sang it before they said crucify Him and we have no king but Caesar. Jesus never told the apostate Jewish leadership that they would be able to avoid the judgement Jesus said was coming on their generation. The point Jesus was making was that his return would be during one of the pilgrimage feasts days. A Josephus recorded that it did. Looks like Jesus was right again.
@ Josephus, The Jewish War 5.99-100 (Book V, Chapter 3, Sections 1-2) The Triumphal Entry of Jesus into Jerusalem is recorded in all four Gospels: • Matthew 21:1-11 • Mark 11:1-11 • Luke 19:28-40 • John 12:12-19 Jews rejecting Christ . John 19:14-15 • Matthew 27:22-23 • Mark 15:12-14 • Luke 23:20-21
@@ChristCenteredEschatology When did Jesus return during a feast day and defeat Israel’s enemies? (Zechariah 14:1-5)? Jesus had to be rejected by Israel. Luke 9:22 Luke 24:24-27 With the Josephus reference, are you trying to somehow imply those events are the events mentioned in Daniel 9:27? The “John” being referenced in that portion of Josephus was named John of Gischala, a Jew. The aggressor in Daniel 9:27 is the anti-Messiah (2 Thessalonians 2:4-8).
@ Apostate Old Covenant Israel was the enemy of God’s people. Revelation is very clear about who Mystery Babylon was. Jesus told the Jewish leaders that their generation would be judged for all the righteous blood shed on the earth. The events of AD 70 were the fulfillment of Daniel’s 70 weeks (490 years, not 2500) The Romans armies are the ones who destroyed the temple. The apostate Jewish leader ship are the desolators who brought about the destruction. Just read Deuteronomy 32, Isiah 27:9, and Daniel 12. One has to deliberately ignorant the clear teachings of the scriptures not to understand that only a remnant of Israel was to be saved. According to Paul, that remnant was alive in his day (Rom. 11:5) just like the man of sin (lawlessness). That is why Jesus told the disciples that they should flee Jerusalem when they saw the abomination of desolation/armies surrounding Jerusalem. The apostate Jews were anti-Messiah. They denied that Jesu was the Messiah who came in the flesh. Why do you think Paul was persecuting the church. Not sure your what your point about John has to do with anything.
There could be two raptures, (the Bible uses the phrase "The Resurrection" and never says "Rapture"), because there are two Resurrections. Rapture #1 in 70 AD, Rapture #2 on the last day of this age. As it was in the days of Noah... There is a theme throughout the Bible where the Lord rescues a small remnant from a final judgment by taking them bodily to paradise, or into the Ark, or to Zoar, etc.
If the Gospels, Epistles and the Revelation could be put to paper by poor Apostles, them a 1st Century "Rapture" could've also have been recorded, especially in areas outside Jerusalem where there were also ethnically Jewish Christians.
Mat 24:30-31 show clearly that 1) "they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory," 2) "And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other." Thus, the gathering of the saints occurred at the same time that Christ was seen coming in the clouds of heaven with power. According to Josephus, angelic hosts were seen over Jerusalem: "a few days after that feast, on the one and twentieth day of the month Artemisius, bIyarl ...before sun-setting, chariots and troops of soldiers in their armor were seen running about among the clouds, and surrounding of cities." @ The Bible tells us the literal Earth will never be destroyed. The new heaven and earth refers to the new covenant. It is best that we allow the Bible to interpret the Bible and not Scofield and Darby. I have a video on the use of heaven and earth in the Bible (if you are interested in using that language the way the Bible does). I also have a two part video series called burning down the house which gives a Biblical explanation of 2 Peter 3. This channel has videos on the use of apocalyptic language.
@@ChristCenteredEschatologyThe Bible does not explicitly state that the Earth will never be destroyed. However, it does teach that the Earth as we know it will undergo significant changes and ultimately be replaced with a "new heaven and a new earth." Here are key biblical references that address the fate of the Earth: 2 Peter 3:10-13 (NIV): "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare... But in keeping with his promise we are looking forward to a new heaven and a new earth, where righteousness dwells." This passage teaches that the current heavens and Earth will be destroyed and purified by fire, but God will create a "new heaven and a new earth." To take this verse as an allegory and not literal would be to Revelation 21:1 (NIV): "Then I saw 'a new heaven and a new earth,' for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea." John’s vision reveals that the old Earth and heavens will pass away, replaced with a new, redeemed creation. The language in 2 Peter 3:10-13 is vivid and apocalyptic, describing events that go far beyond what is symbolized in the new covenant: "The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare" (v.10). The use of phrases like "the heavens disappearing" and "elements being destroyed by fire" indicates cosmic, physical changes, not just spiritual realities. These are not terms typically used to describe the new covenant but rather point to a literal transformation of creation. Peter is addressing future events that have yet to happen. In the same passage, he ties the destruction and renewal of the earth to "the day of the Lord": "But the day of the Lord will come like a thief" (v.10). This phrase is commonly used in Scripture (e.g., 1 Thessalonians 5:2, Matthew 24:43) to describe the unexpected, climactic coming of Christ and final judgment. If this is purely symbolic of the new covenant, why does Peter repeatedly point forward to something that will happen, encouraging believers to live holy and godly lives as they look forward to this day (v.12)? The future orientation suggests something more literal and universal than just the establishment of the new covenant. Peter’s language echoes Isaiah 65:17 and Isaiah 66:22, where God promises to create a new heavens and a new earth. These Old Testament prophecies anticipate a future renewal of creation, not merely a covenantal shift: "See, I will create new heavens and a new earth. The former things will not be remembered, nor will they come to mind" (Isaiah 65:17). The new covenant, inaugurated by Christ, brings salvation and spiritual renewal, but Isaiah and Peter point to a time when all of creation will be physically renewed as well. This reinforces the idea that Peter’s words are describing an ultimate cosmic restoration. Then we need to look at the larger context of 2 Peter 3 The chapter's overall message centers on the coming judgment and God's patience in delaying this judgment to give people time to repent: "The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise... Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance" (v.9). If Peter is speaking allegorically about the new covenant, the warning about destruction and judgment becomes disconnected from its purpose-to urge repentance before a real and final day of reckoning. Peter’s teaching aligns with what the Apostle Paul says in Romans 8:19-21: "The creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed. For the creation was subjected to frustration... in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God." Paul portrays creation itself groaning under the effects of sin and awaiting a literal liberation and renewal. This is consistent with Peter’s description of the heavens and earth being destroyed and replaced with a new creation. What is the purpose of the fire? Fire is often used in Scripture as a means of judgment and purification. In 2 Peter 3, the fire represents not just spiritual renewal but a literal cleansing and transformation of the present heavens and earth: The flood in Noah’s time (2 Peter 3:6) was a literal judgment on the earth, and Peter compares it to the coming judgment by fire (v.7). If the flood was physical, the fiery judgment likely will be as well. All interpretations of Scriptural text that is viewed as allegory should be justified contextually. If you or anyone sees 2 Peter 3 as allegorical, you need to provide strong reasons from the text itself to justify that interpretation. While parts of Scripture (e.g., parables, prophetic visions) are clearly symbolic, the language in 2 Peter 3 does not fit a purely allegorical genre. Instead, it mirrors other passages that describe physical, cosmic events.

"Then I saw 'a new heaven and a new earth,' for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and there was no longer any sea."
John’s vision reveals that the old Earth and heavens will pass away, replaced with a new, redeemed creation.
The language in 2 Peter 3:10-13 is vivid and apocalyptic, describing events that go far beyond what is symbolized in the new covenant:
"The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare" (v.10).
The use of phrases like "the heavens disappearing" and "elements being destroyed by fire" indicates cosmic, physical changes, not just spiritual realities. These are not terms typically used to describe the new covenant but rather point to a literal transformation of creation.

It's something that Both Jesus and the Angels told us He(Jesus) would do when He ((God(Jesus)) returned the EXACT same way (in the clouds) HE left... Acts 1:9 KJV - And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
11Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
@ could they see him in the cloud?
Does Matthew 24 describe Jesus return the same as Acts?
What about the white horse and the sword coming out of His mouth?
Does Christ have chicken wings?
@ChristCenteredEschatology well.. since Christ is God The Son.. and God can easily ride the clouds into or out of heaven I think wondering about "chicken wings" is kinda silly if you think about it.
@ Why is wondering about chicken wings kind of silly. After Jesus wanted to gather Jerusalem under his wings exactly like a chicken does. At He does based on your logic.
Because it didn't happen.
Daniel's 70th week (Daniel 9:27) never took place. The opposite happened. Israel ended Rome's sacrifices (Josephus - Wars of the Jews 2.17.2).
Time was added to the Messianic clock from within 4250 years to 6000 years. The Talmud talks about this (Sanhedrin 97A, 97B).
The Dead Sea Scrolls also say the Messianic Age would be delayed in the Habakkuk Commentary (1QpHab).
Dsniel was told NOT to write it down. Daniel was living in 'end time'. The tribulation started in the Garden of Eden. When was the Judgement? When man died, and then in knowing good AND evil... can then judge. Judges ruled 40 years, 1 'day'. 3 days... 120 years.
The 'son of man' is INSIDE YOU. It must repent (Numbers 23:19), or will learn as a 'suffering servant'... numbered amongst the 'transgressors'. Those who DO NOT SIN (anymore) cannot be NUMBERED.

Jesus hasn't defeated Israel's enemies yet. Israel is currently at war.

Nor does Israel collectively acknowledge Jesus (Zechariah 12:10, Hosea 3:5).
Christ was crucified in the middle of the 70th week of Daniel
@ROK-PSU Jesus died circa 30-33 AD.
Daniel’s 70th week would have taken place circa 63-70 AD. It didn’t. The opposite happened. Israel ended Rome’s sacrifices. (Josephus - Wars of the Jews 2.17.2).
@@johnmann8659 Robert Anderson's "The Coming Prince" would mostly agree. But Anderson too is wrong. If you're like unto the Berean Christians, inspecting all things, and hold firmly to that which is good.
