@@roberteismann1929 you can’t get a new JMP-1, I’m sure there’s some cool used ones out there, but I meant it would be nice to see the JMP-1 with the features this one has, like IR’s and modern switch
I sent them a message and suggested they release a JMP-1 Classic just like the original but beef up the input and output jack materials, add IR, etc. Then make a JMP-1 Modern with IR stuff, USB, updated voicings for the metal guys. I’d buy both. No reply. 😢. 😂
Michael Soldano sold Soldano Custom Amplification to Boutique Amps Distribution (Commerce, CA.) back in 2019. Yes, Mike is obviously involved with the brand. Now being liberated from the burdensome responsibilities of business owner, he is uninhibited to do what he does best, design awesome high grade guitar amplification products!
This is better than slice bread , knobs should stay independent and unrelated to any preset , perfect for dialling in the sound at the venue , nothing worse than scrolling through menus and pages , gonna order one today , thx for the video
What I can't understand is why it took so long for mike to release this. There is a old X88 on Reverb as we speak for $6400, insane. The question is now that X88IR is out why would anyone want to pay that kind of price unless your a vintage collector.
Interesting take. Mine is actually kind of the opposite. I have the Friedman IR-D and would LOVE to have this Soldano in an IR-D-like form factor. It's not the 90's anymore. Who uses a rack of stage anymore? (unless you're lucky enough to have roadies)
Hi ppguitars, great question! The headphone out for the X88 is putting out the same signal as the master out, so it is post-FX loop and post IR. If you want to dig in more on this cool new pre-amp, just give me a ring! Drake Sobehrad, Sweetwater Sales Engineer, (800) 222-4700 ext. 3271, drake_sobehrad@sweetwater.com
You gotta love people with more money, than brains. $2500 for $150 worth of components. Hasn't Sweetwater, and Soldano himself claim that the various pedals, modules, and plug ins released through the years have the exact same tone as the original X88? If they weren't lying, what would be the point of this? Oh yeah- They would prefer to have your money, not you.

I so regret selling mine
It never went away.

Maybe they could actually make it sound good this time?
the video quality and light ist outstanding!
The owner himself of Soldano introducing us to his new preamp! That's cool to think about.

Please do a follow up video with a midi controller hooked up and show us how to do stuff. 😀
And just like that it's the late 1980s again.
Back To The Future...88 MPH!
Friedman should bundle the dirty shirley, be, jake lee preamps in a rack like this

@@MotownGuitarJoe me ✋✋
Everyone is playing direct , there's a good market for rack units always
How does this compare to the Friedman models. Ir x?
Suggested power section with cabinets ?
Fryette or VHT, Or any good tube power amp. Cabs use anything you got.
Is the headphone out after or before effects loop?

JY from Styx uses this.
Why not make these for a regular amp
Not agree with Mike saying there weren't good units in this era .
The ada mp1 was the first midi controlled and still one of the best units today
It has a killer tone....not quite Soldano (in tone) but still very usable!
So essentially, this is like a Friedman IR-X or IR-J at 5x the cost, with the same IR software by B.A.D.?
Not even.
Nope.
Anyone got a spare 2500 USD?
Don't care for the magenta color.
Nothing is going to say "sucker" like some fool with a soldano remake in a pink rack box.
Wrong.
