Yeah, i must admit he score a lot of G/A in club level help by some of the best talent in the world but it is still in club level, but why can he delivered that performances in international level? Was Foden is another Rooney?

@@ronnyron4681 Southgate has refused to ever play Foden in his actual position so far. Even so he had the same g/a as Saka at the World Cup. And at the Euros he got injured. Saka has only won those England awards out of pity, he hasn’t actually been any better than Foden for England.

The first guy is right. Southgate very rarely plays any of the back up players. Kane plays every game, never tries 2 up front in meaningless games.

The kid at united looks good. But he has had maybe 9 or 10 decent games in his very brief career. Phil foden walks into any team on the planet on current form and should be a nailed on starter for England, just need to ditch one of the holding players play rice as a 6 bellingham as an 8 foden as 10 saka kane and anyone from grealish/gordan/maybe rashford in front of them

I mean foden and mainoo play in 2 different positions and styles.. foden is more an attacker who can play on the wing and attacking midfielder/number 10, but mainoo is a box to box central midfielder who can defend and start play going forward

Best players don’t always make up the best team. Balance is everything! Cb is a massive problem for England, stones is quality but I’m not sure there’s another top top quality English cb at present to play along side him. That is the reason England must play with 2 defensively minded midfielders! If we could trust the back line then rice Bellingham and foden would be ideal, but that won’t work until our defence is better. The more I think about it the more I’d actually play James tarcovski( excuse the spelling) alongside stones, he knows how to defend and he’s style would complement stones. Until then rice alongside Henderson with Bellingham and foden fighting for the 10 spot! And before you say henderson lol I know I tried to find someone with the international quality to play alongside rice and I came up with a blank! So based on how well rice plays with Jorginho at Arsenal, even without pace henderson could possibly fill that role🤷🏾♂️

The more silky players you pick, the more open you are, but you will have more and higher quality of possession. So you will score a lot more. And because you control the majority of possession, you actually have to defend a lot less, conceding less goals.

Additionally you can't expect to coach an international team to the same level as City and that's what it requires to not be totally open. As well as defenders who are good on the ball and can play an incredibly high line. No chance. Foden mostly plays wide for City anyway I don't really see the problem. Rice Mainoo and Jude is far more balanced. Mainoo is bloody silky too. He's been a bit off it recently but it's not his fault he plays for the worst coached team in the league.

@@BiggestBirdonMars What is wrong with you man? Let me give you example from yesterday game against Fulham, Foden & Silva were on both flanks and Halland leading the line. Rodri, Kovacic and De Bruyne played midfield which means De Bruyne was number 10. In most games if he is fit De Bruyne plays as number 10, and Rodri and another modfielder plays at the center (Rodri with Kovačić) or sometimes Rodri with Stones or sometimes Rodri with Akanji.

Oh dear, oh dear. Foden is level upon levels above Mainoo. Some man u fans, he clearly is one, are just pompous, and arrogant beyond belief. Their team is trash, most of their players(probably 90%) wouldn't get into Spurs, Villa, City, Arsenal, Liverpool, even Newcastle's team these days. Fernandes is their best player by far, even though I can't stand his wimpy-ness and childish antics, Garnacho and Mainoo are potential at this point, nothing more. Mainoo still has a lot to do to prove himself. The brilliant goal he scored reminded me of Federico Macheda against Villa bursting onto the scene to acclaim, then fizzing out. They are clearly different players but caution should be sided. Too often, we fast-track players when are not ready. Eze should get into the team ahead of Mainoo, as he's proved himself and his quality over a couple of seasons. And he is, frankly, a brilliant player. Side not: if only we'd been able to allow Musiala to believe he would be given chance.
Imagine: Ramsey, Walker, Chilwell, Stones, Braithwaite, Rice, Bellingham, Maddison, Foden, Palmer/Musiala, Kane.
