Thank you once again, Fr Mike for a challenging and inspirational homily. Often, in discussion after our Rosary Group, we share concerns very similar to those you have expressed today. 🙏✝️
I too rejoice in my sufferings..why am I so happy? My stage four cancer stomach diagnosis was two and a half year ago...what a fantastic journey....I have more energy than ever. NEVER HAD I BEEN NAUSEOUS, I enjoy my monthly trips to Chemo at the Univ of MD., St. Joseph Cancer Center. I love the nurses...we laugh 😂. I love my oncologist, Dr. Schroeder. Heaven and earth are full of your Glory...how true my friends....miracles happen always...I don't know what suffering is ...this is too good to be suffering...I am so enjoying this homily and along with St. Paul I will end my friends by saying "I rejoice in my suffering"...except I am not suffering...I am living!
Mighty blessings Glorious Gloria! Awesome witness to the fire of The Holy Spirit 🔥 The night brings out the stars💥💥💥💫💫💫 Pray for us, especially children, Youth, young adults who are running away from suffering 🙏
It so nice to see U have so many kind & caring individuals in your life , and that your taking your sorrows and leaving it in the hands of our savior , proof of humility in your life has been acknowledged , and God bless U .
Wow, Father Michael is on fire! This the teaching that comes from being full of the spirit. We do not need to evangelize through any other means except this! Not through politics, politicians, governments , nothing! We need more men of God like this man ! Great homily Father, thank you for your service to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Amen
As a Cradle Catholic, I agree with most of what you say. I agree, Fr. Mike appears to be a wonderful priest and evangelist. There is not doubt about that and we need more priest like him. However, one thing I find lacking in most parishes (I have no way of knowing this about Our Lady of The Gulf) is that Catholics need to take a lesson from our Protestant brothers and sisters. They are generally welcoming to people they do not know. They have a way of making you feel like family. Most parishes I have attended are not. If Our Lady of The Gulf is a warm and welcoming parish then we need you to spread the word. One other thing before and after mass some parishioners prefer to pray. In most churches, I have attended, these people are not afforded the opportunity to pray in silence because so many don’t think of the Lord’s Real Presence in the Eucharist kept in the Tabernacle. We need to show more reverence and respect for others that are praying. The place for talking is in the Narthex or outside. Thanks for the opportunity to express my opinion on a these two things. So much of The Catholic reverence for the Eucharist has been lost. God Bless you all.
Amen. I’ve been going through a rough period and have dispared and become discouraged. Today I will surrender my suffering to the Holy Trinity and Blessed Mother. Thank you.
@@kathleenfrancis1872 Thank you for asking. I haven’t gotten sacramental anointing. I’ve gotten to confession more frequently and am in a much improved state. Thanks be to God.

G’day from Sydney, Fr Mike. What you have eloborated in your Homily is indeed what l have experienced in my life. The sufferings have changed me to be a stronger person because l am fully conscious that He is with me. I have not been able to overcome the challenges which caused my sufferings. He has opened the doors that lead me to new and amazing spiritual opportunities. Despite all these sufferings l have been through, l am able to rejoice. Hoping that these openings will enable me to glorify Him. Thank you for sharing the beautiful message, Father. May you be continually blessed in your Divine Mission. Amen Have a blessed Christmas. Thank you FR Mike . You help us to see our suffering and find joy through Jesus and offer it up and see the true gift in it? You are so good to us each day to express how our faith means so much when we share it with the lord. Peace. Norah Hoskinson.
Thank you Fr. Mike. I love your homilie today because I need to hear this. I have my mother with cancer, and my sister with Parkinson disease. It is hard, but this situation makes me pray more; and makes me aware that the relationship with HIM is imperative. I don't understand it, but he gives me the strength to continue. I feel like I am losing both of them, little by little. She is my only sister. Sometimes when I see her sleeping because of her medicine, I feel lonely and lost. Well, thank you Father Mike. You are awesome!

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast. Mat 7:22 Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? Mat 7:23 And then will I profess unto them, I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity. Isa 64:6 But we are all as an unclean thing, and all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; and we all do fade as a leaf; and our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. Psa 39:5 Behold, thou hast made my days as an handbreadth; and mine age is as nothing before thee: verily every man at his best state is altogether vanity. Selah. Tit_1:16 They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate. Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat: Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it. Joh 3:5 Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God. Joh 3:6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Joh 3:7 Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again. 1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; 1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. 1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; 1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: We live in the dispensation of grace, under the teachings of the Apostle Paul. There are verses above that do not come from Paul directly but follow the doctrine of grace. If you think you will make it to the Kingdom of God by your righteousness and not Jesus Christ's you will not make it. You deny the blood shed of Jesus when you trust in yourself and not him. Is his death on the cross not good enough for you? What about the thief on the cross by Jesus' side? All he had to do was have faith and believe and he made it to paradise where Jesus then took him to heaven. Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved. Rom 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office: Luk 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation? Luk 23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss. Luk 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom. Luk 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise. Mat 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments, Mat 23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues, Mat 23:7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi. Mat 23:8 But be not ye called Rabbi: for one is your Master, even Christ; and all ye are brethren. Mat 23:9 And call no man your father upon the earth: for one is your Father, which is in heaven. Col 2:8 Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.
@@johnalmeida7873we all dont solicit for donations that help make the church the wealthiest institution on the planet...in the united states social security, Medicaid and other tax based social programs do most of the taking care of the poor....I would argue that the special tax treatment the church gets only takes away from the social programs that are actually taking care of the poor every day, not just a food basket on thanks giving day for example...

o 3 And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. (NLT)
o 3 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity (wickedness). The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. (NKJV)
o
3 And the tongue is like a fire. It is a world of wrong, occupying its place in our bodies and spreading evil through our whole being. It sets on fire the entire course of our existence with the fire that comes to it from hell itself. (GNT)
God bless you Fr. Mike.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Eph 2:9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Mat 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:
Mat 7:14 Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leadeth unto life, and few there be that find it.
1Co 15:1 Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand;
1Co 15:2 By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain.
1Co 15:3 For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
1Co 15:4 And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:
We live in the dispensation of grace, under the teachings of the Apostle Paul.
Rom 11:13 For I speak to you Gentiles, inasmuch as I am the apostle of the Gentiles, I magnify mine office:
Luk 23:40 But the other answering rebuked him, saying, Dost not thou fear God, seeing thou art in the same condemnation?
Luk 23:41 And we indeed justly; for we receive the due reward of our deeds: but this man hath done nothing amiss.
Luk 23:42 And he said unto Jesus, Lord, remember me when thou comest into thy kingdom.
Luk 23:43 And Jesus said unto him, Verily I say unto thee, To day shalt thou be with me in paradise.
Mat 23:5 But all their works they do for to be seen of men: they make broad their phylacteries, and enlarge the borders of their garments,
Mat 23:6 And love the uppermost rooms at feasts, and the chief seats in the synagogues,
Mat 23:7 And greetings in the markets, and to be called of men, Rabbi, Rabbi.
Fr Mike we miss you. Can you do mass mote than once a week.
What is that gray wristband mean that you wear on your left wrist?
Why is the Catholic Church the wealthiest institution on the planet with a mantra of helping the poor that are still poor?...
We are all responsible to feed the poor, clothed the naked. This is everyone's mission not just the church.
There will always be poor and everyone not just the church should be helping.
@@2345cbreslin Feed the hungry, help the poor, don't worry about anything else. Peace
Because God set it up it's the wealthiest, they spend a lot of money on helping the poor.
