    Dear brother in the Lord. My path to knowing the Lord Jesus Christ has been very different from yours, I am not an adherent of the Roman Catholic tradition, BUT - I have been really blessed by so many of your homilies. What you have spoken about in your homily "The silence is deafening" is exactly where my heart lies. I know we stand on the same solid foundation - Christ Jesus - my Lord and yours. We are united in the deep truths of the Word of God - we have been brought into the same light of knowing Him to be the Way, the Truth and the Life. God's Holy Spirit has been our counsellor, comforter and guide and shown us our deep need of our Redeemer.... and continues to open the eyes of our understanding. The Lord, our Shepherd continues to lead us in paths of Righteousness - for His Name's sake. Praise God for His Indescribable Gift!

    "That Jesus came to save us from sin. To pay a debt He did not owe - because we owe a debt we could not pay." That was brilliantly stated, Father. God is so good to us. God bless you, Fr. Michael.

    o Ephesians 6:11-13 NKJV
    11 Put on the whole Armour of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armour of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
    o Ephesians 6:11-13 NIV
    11 Put on the full Armour of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armour of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand.
    ---------------------------
    o Matthew 10:33
    33 But whoever denies Me before men, him I will also deny before My Father who is in heaven. NKJV
    33 But whosoever shall deny Me before men, him will I also deny before My Father which is in heaven. (KJV).
    33 But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven. (NIV).
    33 But those who reject me publicly, I will reject before my Father in heaven. (GNT).
    33 But everyone who denies me here on earth, I will also deny before my Father in heaven. (NLT)

    o 1 Corinthians 6:9-11
    9 Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, 10 nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And such were some of you. But you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God. (NKJV)
    o 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 GNT
    9 Surely you know that the wicked will not possess God's Kingdom. Do not fool yourselves; people who are immoral or who worship idols or are adulterers or homosexual perverts 10 or who steal or are greedy or are drunkards or who slander others or are thieves-none of these will possess God's Kingdom. 11 Some of you were like that. But you have been purified from sin; you have been dedicated to God; you have been put right with God by the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (GNT)
    o 1 Corinthians 6:9-11 NIV
    9 Or do you not know that wrongdoers will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: Neither the sexually immoral nor idolaters nor adulterers nor men who have sex with men 10 nor thieves nor the greedy nor drunkards nor slanderers nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. 11 And that is what some of you were. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. (NIV)
    o Ecclesiastes 7:2
    o 2 Better to go to the house of mourning Than to go to the house of feasting, For that is the end of all men; And the living will take it to heart. (NKJV)
    o 2 It is better to go to a house of mourning than to go to a house of feasting, for death is the destiny of everyone; the living should take this to heart. (NIV)
    o 2 Better to spend your time at funerals than at parties. After all, everyone dies- so the living should take this to heart. (NLT)
    o 2 It is better to go to a home where there is mourning than to one where there is a party, because the living should always remind themselves that death is waiting for us all. (Good News Translation)
    o James 3:6
    o 3 The tongue also is a fire, a world of evil among the parts of the body. It corrupts the whole body, sets the whole course of one’s life on fire, and is itself set on fire by hell. (NIV)
    o 3 And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. (NLT)
    o 3 And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity (wickedness). The tongue is so set among our members that it defiles the whole body and sets on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire by hell. (NKJV)
    o
    3 And the tongue is like a fire. It is a world of wrong, occupying its place in our bodies and spreading evil through our whole being. It sets on fire the entire course of our existence with the fire that comes to it from hell itself. (GNT)

      @@mikeryan7213 No, you're certainly right, "masks have nothing to do with God." The science has not changed, young Mike, a mask (bandana, face covering) does not & cannot stop a virus, especially one 40x smaller than the particulates blocked by a mask. The only thing that can stop a virus is a HAZMAT suit & gas mask. PS: I'll say a prayer that you find Christ soon, Mike.

    • @mikeryan7213
      @mikeryan7213 2 роки тому

      @@SwiftRead masks reduce the chances of outward transmission. That's been well proven. Say a prayer that you will be able to discern between truth and propaganda.
      Perhaps it is you who needs to find christ.

    • @SwiftRead
      @SwiftRead 2 роки тому

      @@mikeryan7213 Masks do nothing of the sort, young Michael. Well know infectious disease expert, Dr. Anthony Fauci, admitted the same in a medical journal, dated 2019. He said the same to CBS in 2020. The World Health Org also acknowledged that masks cannot stop a virus ~ they're too loose, and don't stop nearly enough droplets to be at all effective. Perhaps Fr O'Connor not wearing a mask, while those standing next to him are wearing a mask, might be an indication to you about transmission? Breathe in as much dirty CO2 as you like ~ don't dare try telling another what they must do to satisfy your own Covid paranoia.

      Scripture speaks of the separation of the sheep and goats . Scripture is clear that Salvation isn't for all . We have freewill to choose right from wrong . Baptism doesn't save anyone .Baptism saves those who walk according to the commandments. There's a code of conduct for Christians in Colossians Chapter 3 . God bless 💖

      As with all things, there are two extremes to avoid. If your debate is with the school of thought which says that all are (eventually) saved, or at least not eternally damned, then you will emphasize the failure definitively to include all without exception. If on the other hand your debate is with the school of thought which holds that Jesus' redemption cannot fail to be effective and therefore the fact that not all are saved means that God created some with the specific intention that they be damned, then you will emphasize the failure definitively to exclude some. As I understand it, the source text makes the debate lively until correctly understood by being more properly translated multitudes, which by its nature prescinds from the question of individual outcomes, with any individual potentially but not necessarily being among the multitude. Correct understanding provides for the recognition that included in the interaction of grace and nature is the realization of the reflection in the rational creature of God's freedom to choose without constraint, and so some choose one way, some another. Again, some maintain or renew their choice, and some reverse it. Two things emerge certainly. None are constrained to damnation. The Church is indefectible. The individual's outcome depends on his response to grace.
