    It's worth noting that the mini stepper counts sets of steps. So when you take one step with each foot, that's on the counter goes up to one.

    Glad I found your video. I saw one on marketplace for $25 and thought about getting it. I already have one Sunny machine, which is a quality machine, but is hardly used. Seeing your video, steps are my goal and 5 mile walks were the key to my weight loss. The more you walk, the more you enjoy it (80's music playing to keep a consistent speed) and the less time it takes to get the walk in. So, the stepper looks like a great quality machine and it would probably be a good "stepping" stone for someone just starting to exercise. I too have thought about a treadmill for under my desk, and there's one on FB advertised that looks good for under $200 - but, for now, I'll stick to my early morning walk. Thanks for the good review!

    I have a similar style product called the x-iser. Trying to get a lot of steps on it is the definition of boredom! If I may make a suggestion, I find a much better use of it is to do a HIIT style workout where you do short bursts of "sprinting". The key is to squat down just a bit and then peddle while keeping your head level. Great glute work!

    Some people like myself are just really not a fan of the gym. Don't get me wrong I still go, but only because I live in a small apartment for now. These are nice for at least having something to raise my heart rate and move a bit until I can expand a bit for a home gym. Mischell, I had it for about 6 months and then gave it away. That doesn’t mean it’s a bad piece of equipment, just not for me. The main reason being it said it could only be used for 15 minute increments, which is not enough time for me to burn fat. It is built well though. See my follow up review here. I ordered one but I have a plan on how to use it. If you have stairs you can climb up and down instead, or you can go up and down 3 steps. I wouldn't use this for cardio, you can probably do cardio in place without this. I plan to use it more with full motion including flexing ankles and toes, if you don't flex your ankles then you're just using your knees which is not optimal. I'll probably step on it with my heels hanging off, maybe with bare feet. If you use this as in the videos I expect it wouldn't be as good as walking that's why I'm going to use it differently, that's my expectations. It's supposed to arrive later today.

    Sunny seems to make good quality products. Mini-steppers in general seem like they have too small of a range of motion to burn many calories and are better just for toning your calves. If stuck indoors, I'd rather walk on a treadmill to burn calories. I actually bought a Men's Health brand mini-stepper from a discount store for 70 bucks and didn't expect much. It's a little bigger than the Sunny model and it's designed so the platforms stay parallel to the floor and raise up to around 10 inches. So you're really raising your knees high while working your quads/glutes more than the lower leg. 15 minutes on it feels like "real" challenging exercise though and would be too distracting to do while working.

    • @FitnessFinance4u
      @FitnessFinance4u  Рік тому +3

      @@FitnessFinance4u Mini steppers seem like a good secondary type "lightweight" exercise - not burning much energy but better than nothing. You look like you're in shape, but someone trying to lose weight might need something that requires more movement to get results (walking, biking, etc). If I had a job standing behind a counter, a stepper would be good to just to stay a little active and a burn a few calories here and there. I use a deskcycle in that manner while on a recliner watching movies. A powered low profile treadmill seems like the perfect "exercise while working" solution imo.

      Laura. I like it ok. It’s holding up fine. I’m finding that I’m really trying to get outside and do a couple of 30 min walks instead. But have been using it in my “gym/utility” room when I can’t get out.

      Coco, thanks for pointing that out. I missed that when I was using it and am bit disappointed at that. I guess it’s more of a “warm up” machine rather than a true piece of fitness equipment for getting your steps in?

      I guess a workaround to use it for hours all day is to buy two or 3. Swap them out every 15 minutes. Step on one while the others are cooling off. Still cheaper and will take up less space than a treadmill.

    • @FitnessFinance4u
      @FitnessFinance4u  4 місяці тому +1

      Mel, that’s a good question. I searched the internet and read a few articles and most of them say “ mini steppers work your glutes”, but they really don’t have enough range of motion to build your glutes. So you might want to add some squats and Bulgarian Split Squats along with your stepper. Hope I helped?

    I feel silly having to tell you this, but you are stepping too slow. Try lessening the resistance and step faster. You can almost run on these. Look at other videos. But you are going way too slow to get a lot of steps.

      Yes, I did loosen it and run faster. It just got my heart rate up too high last “fat burning” mode, so had to find a happy medium. However,
