wow, this was so so so helpful to me. I comparing lists of items in excel containing over 2000 items and this video came in handy. I was so relieved. In less than 3 minutes I was done with over 2000 plus items, just like that. thank you mate.
Thanks SO much for this video! You saved me about 5 hours of time with this easy-to-follow instruction. I'd started combing through 2500 records just to find 800 missing from another file. I'd already spent roughly 2.5 hours going through 300 or so and figured there had to be a better way. I've never been great at Excel formulas even with instruction but this was simple and did exactly what I needed. I also looked like a superstar to my team, which wound up making me the lead on the project (yay?).
I have looked up a lot of Vlookup help tutorials and this video was a total winner. You explained it step by step. This helped me solve a huge issue with finding missed records.
Thank you so much. i have watched and read i don’t know how many so called explanations for comparing two lists of information with no success except yours.
I just used this to compare to large sets of data. You saved me so much time. This was fantastic. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge. Video was straight to the point. A million thank yous.
I am doing my last project for excel unit in CIT, and I’ve been stuck on the same problem for over three hours now trying to figure this out and you are a GOD SEND!!!! Amazing teacher. Thank you!!!!!!
Thank you so much. You've just saved me so much time as I have more than 500,000 records to review over 38 reports. This is the the first time that the explanation actually made sense and worked for me!
Wow thanks this video is great, had to learn v lookup today in work, my mind was boggles but this has explained it perfectly and with good humour and the human touch, many thanks
Computergaga thanks mate. I've just visited your website and will definitely pick up a few courses. Also sent you a LinkedIn invite. You're a brilliant trainer. 👍🏼
wow!!!! thank you so much!!! been scared to even try to learn how to do this but just by watching and actually trying to apply the formula here, I realized it's something fun to do. keep up the good work!!!
These tutorials will be so damn useful. I applied to another position at work that requires to know some basics about Excel formulas. I spoke with a few people holding this position to have an insight about the interview process, they all told me : practice the Vlookup formula, we're using it quite often. If you can master it before the interview, they will be positively surprised. Thanks a lot, I'll keep this video in my favorites.
Thanks so much for this! I have been struggling with a comparison for over an hour. I watched 2 other videos and it still didn't work. Yours DID! Thank you!
Awesome video. Almost covered every situation. I come across different situations so I keep searching good vidoes. For others help I recommend watching this video. Complete package. ua-cam.com/video/5fsmy3uwoc8/v-deo.html
Out of the many video tutorials i've watched, this one by far was the best! I totally understood your instructions and was able to follow! The only snag I ran across was that the cell in the first spreadsheet had to be formatted properly.
I was so encouraged when I watched your video and how you explained each step clearly and didn't go too fast with your instruction. Unfortunately, my formula hasn't worked and I can figure out why :(
Thank you so much for this video…I know it’s been around, but this just helped me figure out why two reports that should have been identical had a 153 row discrepancy. We are in the middle of purging data from the company we divested from and running data validation testing to ensure data integrity once we go live, and this was a major report with all of our sales order history.
EXACTLY what I was searching for. And excellent clarity in your instruction. I have a yearly work calendar that I keep my daily scheduled hours on. All the dates are in a single row and I need to know what days I am off to preschedule my month. I was taking the dates once given and coloring the cell red. BUT each year that is a pain to undo and reset for next year. Now I have all the holidays and extra time off in a separate table that is auto calculated by the year number. Using your totorial the calendar now auto updates in a flash.
PS my conditional formatting is cashing with an other conditional formatting and some days are not highlighting at that cell. This day off should trump the other. The one that dominates is for the entire table. The one that gets vetoed is for a column.
If you click Conditional Formatting > Manage Rules. Ensure the one you want to be more dominant is higher in the list. Use the arrow buttons to move the rules.
@@Computergaga Thank you for your swift reply. I only see the option to set priority withing the condition that applies to the same sell range. But of the Window that houses the list conditional rules (Manage Conditional Formats) is listed in cell reference alphabetical order. I see no option to change this order. In this table I have the 1st and 15th conditioned to draw a line vertically across the table helping me see the separation between months. The other format will highlight Holidays. However for example. Jan 1st is an intersection of conflict between the 1st and a holiday. I see the line but the highlight for the holiday does not post. This also happens at spring break week.
There is a drop down list at the top to change between selected cells or entire sheet. And also two arrows to move rules up and down. Nex to the delete rule button. Alternatively, you can write rules to apply formatting except another scenario. Then the order does not matter, but this is more difficult.
Thank you solved. I am using Libre Office. Appears the conditions referencing the cell from different array parameters are grouped separately and can't be rearange on the level needed. This detaed feature I will request to implement. Had to delete the the dominant condition and add back. That fixed it
I can't thank you enough for sharing this video! I found it right when I needed it. As a language program administrator, I often have to keep up with attendance, grades, and changing enrollment, and this technique saved me tons and tons of time. You are the MAN!
@@Computergaga i am facing a new challenge while using vlook up between two sheets, getting NA error even after ensuring character limit, cell type as general using “Text to column”.
