Season 4 Episode 7: Deputy Leland Chandler of the DeKalb County Sheriff's Dept. transported three prisoners to a court hearing in Fort Payne, Alabama; the prisoners were shackled only at the ankles. Their flight from justice involved a harrowing carjacking at gun point.
The FBI Files is an American docudrama that takes a look behind the scenes of the Federal Bureau of Investigation's crime laboratory.
Real FBI cases are recounted through reenactments and interviews, due to the sensitive nature of the show, viewer discretion is advised.
They need to bring this show back. I'm sure there's enough stories in the FBI to tell for another 7 series!

Let me guess, the DeKalb County Sheriff's Dept. no longer transports prisoners without using handcuffs. Nor do they let convicted murderers sit, not handcuffed, in the front seat. But, it's just a guess.
Probably not
As late as 96 is crazy. Maybe back in the old days it would be plausible

What a fool. 18 years in a Federal prison which is much easier than Alabama state prison. He would have been out after 15 years.
Because of this officer's negligence, and familiarity, a gentleman, who did all the rights in life, paid the ultimate price, then you have do-gooders, who would oppose the death penalty, for this human waste
Believing that the death penalty is wrong is not a question of being a "do-gooder". It's about the principle that we don't lower ourselves to the level of killers and also realizing that the death penalty is neither a deterrent, nor a punishment. It's just vengeance. Punishment for crimes is not predicated on revenge and emotions.

@@renejean2523 Its unjust when an innocent is put to death, but with DNA, and without a doubt, it is right, and mistakes are rare. Criminals have a choice, get a job, no one has to opt for the death penalty. all they have to do, is leave people alone. stop harming others. In getting rid of them, we are saving the lives of decent people. If one overeats they get obese, if they over imbibe ,they get drunk, if they smoke ,they may get lung disease, if they kill they will get executed, they have a choice. If your escaping prison you better have plan never to come back.
Yeadon was really smart about escaping but not about staying free. The FBI should ask his advice about securing prisons. Yeadon's biggest mistake was making a deal for 18 years (he'd have been out within 10 years), and then blowing it for life without parole... lol
