      Gracias Joshua. I wish I had captured on camera when I told Brittany how much she wanted to charge us. It was a look of utter shock and absolutely not. These people down here are beautiful and kind and hospitable. Imagine a Latin American going to the USA rolling into a random business and asking them if they could camp and use their facilities. Just something to think on. Thank you for your comment. I hope we are able to be used to change cultural biases in some small way. ~ Eric

    It is continually wonderful to watch the roads you travel down; and share about what you learn of each area, the people, and history. I knew that you would be visiting the monastery, and am so glad you did Eric, even though poor sick Caspian and Brittany were unable to. The footage of the monastery was wonderful, and thank you for reading to us the statement of the Dominican sisters who live there - quite touching. Thanks for the filming too, of the Cathedral in Arequipa; fun foam fun and watching Brittany enjoy some Mexican food.

      Thank you Haila! Our time in Arequipa was a mixed bag with Caspian's sickness and the beauty of all we saw. But as we tell folks often, this is real life, only logistically much more challenging. So glad you enjoyed the monastery. I spent easily 3 hours in there alone. It was mesmerizing. ~ Eric

      Thanks Christopher! Appreciate the compliment. We do our best to learn what we can and share it. There are so many amazing things to see down here. I just hit publish on our video about Cusco, the cradle of the Incan empire. And there is some REALLY cool stuff in there. Hope y'all enjoy! ~ Eric

    I very much enjoyed this episode! The foam party, Brittany's excitment of mexican food, :P, the reading you did and the epic echo when reading it. 15,000 ft flamingo's??? Who knew! Thanks for taking me along! Take care, until the next one!

      Hey Susan! So glad you enjoyed the early access on Patreon! We had a mix of a good and a rough time in Arequipa, but the highlights were definitely the cathedral, monastery, and the drive. The Mexican food was great too haha. And yes, I was as surprised as you regarding the flamingoes at 15,000 feet! ~ Eric

    That’s was a very good episode, I’ll have to check out the one your mentioned earlier on the video. What views at 15ft, you wouldn’t even know it with the grasslands etc. Thanks for taking us along for the journey.

      Hey Isaac! Appreciate that. The one I mentioned at the beginning of the video was the Nazca Lines. That one really came out special. We too were stunned by the flat grasslands (pampas) at 15,000 feet and the beauty that is up there. So incredible. And flamingoes? What the what?! Glad you enjoyed the journey and thanks for watching and commenting. ~ Eric

      Thanks for being on it with us virtually. Sometimes I get frustrated that I spend so much time making these videos and I don't think UA-cam serves them up to folks. The analytics on the back end always show me that most folks who start watching one, watch it all the way through, and our viewer time is much higher than most channels. Yet, we don't really get a lot of eyes on the videos themselves. It is a learning process for sure. But at the end of the day I remind myself that if even one person was blessed, or enjoyed it, or learned something, then it was worth it and in keeping with our family mission statement to Love.Explore.Study.Share. ~ Eric

      @HourlessLife Hey Eric, just an after thought, as a Combat Corpsman and now a High Altitude Rescueman, with food and even more so, could Caspian have/had Altitute sickness, some can get it as low as 5/8,000 ft, but 15,000 ft is really tough for adults let alone your little guy, just a suggestion look into carring "Diamox" it is a anti siezer / diuretic, however it is used for Altitude Sickness as well, also by dropping down in Altitude did his symptoms decrease, My hopes and prayers for Caspian are that he gets better.
      And as always Safe travels ❤️ 🙏 Freinds

    Awesome adventures. I just watched your build video again. Do contries that restrict lift height also restrict how much your vehicle can weigh based on the gvwr? Thanks and safe travels.

    • @HourlessLife
      @HourlessLife  3 місяці тому

      Some do and can be quite strict from my understanding. We haven't been to any of those yet, and may need to shed a tiny bit of weight if we take DAUNTLESS there. But we're close. ~ Eric

  • @JohnS-zq8ks

    Caspian is a good little trooper for sure. Did the altitude negatively affect any of you all's equipment, like cooking, heating, etc.?

    • @HourlessLife
      @HourlessLife  3 місяці тому

      We had a couple condiments explode when we opened them and we don't really run our heater at extreme altitude because it is really only designed for up to 7500ft. We can, and we have run it, but we don't do it often as it builds up residue. Cooking is always affected by altitude, but Brittany has been able to figure it all out with our Coleman multi-fuel stove which has been a champ. ~ Eric

      @@HourlessLife Thanks Eric. I'm installing a one gallon kerosine tank and valve to run kero through my diesel espar heater to clean it. I do have a coleman multi-fuel ta boot, so glad it worked. Last resort, I got my MSR dragonfly that I use backpacking.

    Another great video. Is the bonnet solar panel still working well as it looks like it is delaminating in sections?

    • @HourlessLife
      @HourlessLife  3 місяці тому +1

      Thanks Dave! The Cascadia 4x4 VSS (bonnet solar panel) is still working really well! We've put DAUNTLESS through the proverbial wringer with weather, heat, cold, altitude, and literally constant use. So there has been some bubbling but it hasn't impacted the function, just the prettiness of the build. Function over form, I've been really impressed with the VSS. Great question and observation. ~ Eric
