Insane. The crazy immortal queen marches around the field walking directly into the swords of the opposing soldiers to somehow win the battle. Beautiful game.

maybe the eval didn't go up for white because QxQ is not forced. Black didn't HAVE to take the queen, right? If he does, back rank mate. If he doesn't, game continues so maybe that is why the eval didn't go up because white cannot FORCE black to take the queen? I'm just guessing. It's a great trap if he does take it but if not.. well, game just goes on. AHHHH, I watched further and saw that it can go on but it's still lost for black. There is no way to keep the queen guarding the rook. very sneaky.

What’s crazy is if you follow the engine line at the time of trade bishop vs knight roughly equal but if you keep following the line it becomes like +6

this is coming from a currently rated 414 elo player, don't ask how i lost all my points, i feel like the only way to win against 7:29 is to line up a triple barrage against your own king by putting your blacks queen on d8, assuming white follows through with the rook attack
in my mind, sure, you're gonna lose your most powerful piece, but it's the only way you don't lose by back rank

no cause even that loses, because white qxc8, obviously you recapture as black, but and then that still leads to back rank, wow, that's genuinely crushing
it's either you just bully black or hang mate against your opponent, continuing the game, all whilst up a queen

I'm 32. I think I saw this about half of my lifetime ago, but I had almost entirely forgotten about it. Thanks for the efficient recap (I watched at 2x speed).

Thank you, 2x speed is the only way to listen to things imo.

Okay, when a player is offering to GIVE YOU a free piece 3 times in a row, you KNOW IT'S A BAD IDEA TO TAKE!!!! Dude should have kept Q at the back, rank 8 to protect itself THEN push pawn for king so that back rank trash would be null and void. Okay, it was too late to fix it by the time the white Q was about to sac itself but I have lost so many games to that stupid back rank business..... in this case I don't see how he could really avoid it w/o losing his own queen. If he moved a pawn, white Q takes black Q. So, this one was over and so now I see why you complain about SF not seeing it because it is in fact a forced move because there's only two options, take the white Q and lose or lose the black queen then lose later. Interesting stuff. haha

A motif for sure, also Qxb7 didn’t work until the very end when rook moved from e2
