2007 BMW 328i Key Programming by iLocksmiths Brooklyn

In this video we'll be showing you the process of programming a key for a 2007 BMW 328i. The customers original key has lost battery. The battery inside the original keys is soldered to the circuitboard which makes the battery irreplaceable. In addition, original BMW keys like this one are completely sealed, which restricts access to the battery. From experience, we have witnessed many costumers make the mistake of attempting to cut the key open and forcefully detach the battery, which in return caused the key to have an electric malfunction and in most cases the key becomes useless since the chip (which starts the car) gets damaged as well. This type of damage is unrepairable. The best way to avoid this problem in the future is by using an aftermarket key. Aftermarket keys for these models will typically do a better job. They tend to come with a basic accessible battery which is not soldered and easy to change when needed. Also, aftermarket keys aren’t sealed.
