Leave a comment if you are buying this 2 pack!
If I see it I will definitely grab it. 👍
Yeeeeeeessss!!!!! I neeeeeed a screeeeeeech!!!!!! Let's gooooooo!!!! MOTU beeeeaaassstsss!!!!
I have mine on the shelf! I really hope we get that new head sculpt with traditional colors. They should really just release an accessory pack of heads and hands for He-Man and Skeletor.
I already have it. I probably won’t open it for a while though. I appreciate the explanation for the Skeletor colour scheme.
Heck, I got it before you did loved skeletors. Moving mouth wasn't too really fond of the colors.
I recommend the new articulate head jaw swap it on terror claw skely, goes with his color chest plate.
Got this today. It's an absolutely fantastic set with a great and fanatic looking Skeletor (probably my favorite version of him in ages)! I also love that I can keep the intact box with the beautiful artwork on it and don't have to throw it away.
Great video! Thank you! I think there are a few near-misses in this set, but I think the best part of the Skeletor in this set is that his skin is the correct shade of drowning victim / frozen corpse pale greyish-blue, as opposed to the cheery bright summery sky-blue of all the other Vintage-Tribute versions.
LOL @ "drowning victim blue". I prefer the vintage homage's sky blue, however I bought Origins 2002 Skeletor in order to (eventually) make an amphibious Heroic Warrior custom. His unpainted skintone is supposed to resemble that of a blue catfish.
Hi Pixel Dan and thank you for the great review, blessings! 🤘
I've got this in my pile of loot, along with the skeleton warriors two pack, just waiting on a few more items to arrive before I ship them. Thank you for the review!
This 2-Pack is currently chilling in my Pile-Of-Loot.
Very cool! Wonder if the magenta w/ orange airbushing would work well for a new Faker since he's had both magenta/pink and orange armor in the past, maybe a repaint packed in with Duplicat from the cons a few years back? Keldor had the Purple and Green sword, so I think they could do two-tone weapons if they felt like it. It'd probably be Mattel Creations, but maybe a store exclusive or a BBTS/EE exclusive could play well. Great video as always!
I have had it for a couple months now. It’s really a great set. A nice repaint of skeletor. And the articulated jaw is a huge plus !!
Got this a while back. I’m obsessed with Screeech, so nostalgic. Glad he’s very close to the OG figure.
I've had difficulty getting the Skeletor body armour to latch together on a few figures now, Faker included. All I do is line up the peg and the hole on the back of the figure with one hand, and use the power sword to push the peg through the hole, until it pokes out fully. Then you will find it holds much better than when trying to push it through with just your fingers.
Really enjoying the Skeletor paint deco.
I like the color variation of this two pack and although Screech was never a favorite as a kid, I have both the vintage birds, so thought buying both Origin birds was appropriate. I find I buy the Origins collection more so for the artwork than the figures anyway. Having most of the vintage collection, I have the luxury of keeping these in box, and although not cheap, mint on card Origins is much cheaper than on card original of any condition. That being said, I don’t love that the exclusive Moss Man’s price point is almost the same as Origins Snake Mountain, but different rant for another day. Thanks for the MOTU content as always Dan!
The articulated jaw is cool. That his armor und accesories are so gummy could be because of the pigment they used to dye the plastic.
Best Skeletor of the line, for me!! :) Love this 2-pack, have a couple of them. Great Artwork too!
Already bought it and I love it I have every origins piece that has been made available so far and they are all so great can't wait for eternia and lady slither to come.Great review Dan the man👊🫡
For me it’s worth it to have a skeletor with a movable jaw! That’s what they should have done since the beginning! Given each figure a tiny new feature to add to the fun! I’m surprised they haven’t done any sound effect chips in any of these… I guess Filmation would charge way too much. Anyway… never saw the Teela and Zoar in the isles of any store so I guess that’s an online exclusive too? They should have made the beaks open on these too. There’s something to be said about small incentives to purchase them again. I still have my vintage screech… great post Pixel Dan!😊
Mine just arrived on Saturday from BBTS. One concern I have is that the Screech armor seems very brittle and prone to breaking. I'm going to heat it up before putting it in place and don't plan on removing it again.
I liked this set especially the artwork 😍
I agree! Will you add it to your collection?
This set is currently sat in my Pile of Loot @ BBTS & I’m pleased to see Screech is looking so good. I much prefer the Origins Zoar wings to the vintage one as both my Zoar and Screech never flapped properly back then 😅 Also pleased they’re trying something new with Skeletor as the previous headsculpts haven’t worked for me ☺️
Man, if they'd re-release that Skeletor in more classic colors I would buy it so fast.
This set just arrived in Australia from my BBTS pile of loot!
That’s impressive. I want the 3rd new version of the traditional Skeletor to sport that head.
This 2pack is Amazing .
Love it !
I just picked up a set of vintage zoar & Screech. too At retrocon this month. The guy gave me a deal $25 for both of them complete. also in Europe too. name screech was used there too on a Decepticon action master. back in early 90's But yeah That was a Deal I could not pass up $25 for both complete. Also it does look like they may be the same mold from back then. No updated articulation.
I already have mine. I really like this 2 pack. The Skeletor looks cool and yes Screeech is just a recolor Zoar but the colors are spot on. The hinge jaw is fun to pose ha ha. I didn't realize the battle armor for the birds have bombs on there....going from the mini comic he's shown in.
I'm so glad to have mine.
Skeletor's belt is actually retooled, having more notches in the back.
Yea. A fan?
@@Pixel-dan I agree with the gumminess of the plastic used on the armor, I had the same issue with the latch on the back of Skeletor's armor, then noticed the extra notches on the belt when tightening that up as well. I am a fan of the pack over all though & like it quite a bit! ;-)
Awesome! Will you be picking one up?
@@Pixel-dan I've had this set for a couple weeks now my man. ;-)
That’s great
If I could find and buy this 2-pack, I'd:
▪︎ Swap Skeletor's head, boots, and armor onto a Wave 1 (sky blue skintone) Skeletor.
▪︎ Pair Screech with Faker. (If Screech were packed with Faker, I'd want him to have an orange He-Man/"male" half-sword.)
▪︎ Unlike with Zoar, I'd keep his harness/backpack on. Screech was described as Skeletor's robotic attack bird (Snake Mountain's answer to "Buzzsaw"), so it would make sense for him to have mechanical equipment... and missiles.
Your channel inspired me to start my own channel about Master of the Universe And I got 2 of these figures and did a review on my Channel Thank you Pixel Dan.
I love hearing that! Congrats and I wish you success!
@@Pixel-dan Thank you
You can always change the head and armor and boots and loincloth if you wanted a darker skinned skeletor.
Using the Keldor Skeletor?
Mattel makes so many masters of the universe figures. Same figures but a bunch of different colors. I love he-man and the masters of the universe figures and cartoons. I actually have and collect the vintage he-man figures. I have 30 different he-man vintage figures and castle grayskull. But I think Mattel should calm down in making all these weird colors on these he-man figures. I even seen a rainbow colored he-man figure. GREAT VIDEO PIXEL DAN!
Can you swap the standard skeletor head with that from terror claws skeletor and the hood color matches ?
At first I was like "That's the expression they went with for this Skeletor? Terrible." A few minutes later. "Oh my god this is actually one of the best Skeletor's ever."
I bought mine in Europe, and the Harvoc Staff is solid plastic. I can't even bend it.
Oh wow
I do recommend the Screech 2-pack head sculpt on Dragon Blaster Skeletor, it works really well with the color scheme of his armor there.
Nice!
Soeaking of DragonBlaster Skeletor, that is one of two Childhood Vintage MOTU Figures I have. The other one is Battle Armour He-Man.
What’s the Skeletor with the green horde logo?
I bought it for the vintage style face paint like the artwork and was so happy that’s what arrived! I would have been sending it back if it didn’t look like the vintage artwork/toy as I have nothing but the soft yellow and Green already on all the other Skeletor heads!,
I see!
@@Pixel-dansorry if that came off like a rant 😂 they've done a second run and the paint on the second run looks more like the other Origins heads.
The first run is block yellow and block green. Much better for me 😁
Overall though, I really like the new head and hood! Best of both worlds with the articulated jaw.
They should have had screech come with evil lynn
I got mine and i like it. My havoc staff seems to be less gummy than the one in this video, but the Skeletor's right hand is too loose to hold it securely so i have to put it in the left
Oh. Bummer
@@Pixel-dan the sword fits in the right hand though, so it's not too bad. I just have to swap from how I normally display my Skeletors
Great set
they could have tried something new and made zoar into a bat type creature instead.
I thinking about getting this figure.. I love the two packs
It’s pretty amazing
@@Pixel-dan yes.. pretty much I get all my figures from Bigfun..! columbus
Awesome!!!
Still need to pick up Teela & Zoar, but I would like to get this too. (I’m so far behind at this point that it might not even be worth it for me to attempt to complete this line.) Screeech of course is cool, as is Skeletor’s articulated jaw; the paint deco is just meh, in my opinion.
Have 2 of them. ❤️
So mine is more or less lacking the Carmel paint though it is somewhat present and the harness peg is bigger nor is my Havok Staff gummy. I think there were running changes somewhere along the line. Though Skeletors jaw is annoyingly loose.
Dang. That’s not great to hear
@@Pixel-dan I am even able to stick the sword in the back of the harness without any problems. I got mine from Amazon. And just to be sure went and checked the harness it feels like the standard plastic.
Ah
i got to get mine
I still can't get onboard with the face sculpt. The moving mouth is nice, but the way they have done it makes it look like the 70's planet of the ape actors. What is it with Skeletors face that they just can't get right? I've yet to see a version I really like, apart from the ones I have repainted to make them look like the vintage version.
I must just be picky 🤣🤣
You can always remove the jaw and therefore make your own custom DC 52 Skeletor from the 2013 comic book series.
Just need to give him a guitar and he can be screaming metal head Skeletor 🤘🏻💀🤘🏻
Heck yea man!
hey pixelDan... Did you realize that you have just created this powerful wallpaper? 05:11
This is the only good looking Skeletor head in this line. Menacing. I still can’t believe how goofy and plain bad other headsculpts looking - it is so easy to make a skull but…. Not for origins it seems. I really want this Skeletor. Love the color scheme as well
I already have it!
Come on Dan, where is the comparison time to the SDCC figure of Screech? ;)
Ha
Love it.. 👍
Yea? Will you be adding it to your collection?
@@Pixel-dan 💯 if I find it in the store. 👍
Awesome!
I want this
Is it just me? Or does that Skeletor head look like the Masterverse figure?
Similar but not even close detail and size wise
I love the jaw articulation on this Skeletor but I HATE the new paint and armor color. Really not sure I want to spend the money on this just to get Screech, I really want Mattel to release Screech by itself if I'm being honest.
Hmm
@@Pixel-dan I just noticed the pinned comment you made to comment if you're buying the two-pack, sorry.
Why complain about the color difference? That's what's cool about it. You can change the armor and boots as well as the head if you want to put them on a different figure and have it match.
Got it for $28 on Amazon
Well, I think those are lava reflections.
Is it bad that as a 41 year old man I dont want to display a toy like this or store it as part of a collection. I want to rip the package open and play with it.
I have mine, but its still in the box.
Screech and Zora are among my favorite releases for Origins! They fixed the QC issues we had with the originals, like how the lower back rubber would always pop out. I am so happy with these.
i think that the new head looks goofy
I may pass on buying this because Zoar’s paint chips super easy. It doesn’t take much.
Dan great review once again. It seems the plastics used are way too soft and their QC has been a bit down lately with paint lines being uneven and plastic types all over the place. Design wise I love the variety so no complaints from me regarding the reuse of previous figures. I'll be picking up one.
Yea! I agree! Great to hear you’ll be buying one!
@4:35 yeah, it's a bummer, but it's nothing new. That's been the case the entire time. Just look at this photo. Every Skeletor has different colored gear and even slightly different skin tones. Why would they put so much emphasis on customizing when they don't make anything to match with anything else? Idk, It's pretty moot.
❤
Not sure if I’m buying this set really
None of the Skeletor's hoods, boots or armor have matched one another. It has been a mess since the beginning. They are a slightly different and make part swapping a pain.
I'm glad i held out on this one. I don't like what i see here
His bra straps are loose. Love the articulated jaw ❤
Be careful with Screech if you care about the paint. As you can see on Dan's Zoar, the paint just does not stick to the wings very well at all. The paint is incredibly fragile, and just loves to peel off. Shame Mattel couldn't have done better.
I'm glad they made Screech! Now they just need to release Zack, Kelly, Slater, Jessie, and Lisa.
I’m so glad SOMEONE pronounces ZOAR correctly !!!
Ha! Likewise
Nah, it's supposed to be pronounced to rhyme with "soar." Y'know, like what eagles do.
@@Beedo_Sookcool Nope. If you watch one episode of the original He Man and the Masters of the Universe cartoon the main character He Man calls that falcon which is the sorceress in animal form, ZO - AR. The main character pronounced it that way . The main character. That is how we all have to pronounce it . Although yes obviously it is spelled the way it is to be similar to soar .
@13cdc He Man also pronounced robot as "robut". I wouldn't use Filmation as an example of how to pronounce names correctly. They didn't create the Zoar character.
@@Rocket1377 I’m not Eternian so I pronounce Robot , RO-BOT. He Man is Eternian and he pronounces it Robut . So I respect and honor the way the Eternian pronounces that word . ZOAR is Zo - Ar on Eternia . So that’s how it is pronounced. It would be like me going to Mexico and telling Mexicans that they should not roll their R’s. When in Rome do as the Romans do.
For me this is the worst head sculpt ive seen. Others will love it but just not for me.
This Skeletor is just a reminder of what a weird and bad choice it was to put that super bland Teela in the Zoar 2 Pack. An oddball He-Man of some sort to match this Skeletor would have been so much better.
No. Especially after watching this review. Not a fan of that Skeletor head. I "get" it but still not a fan of it. As far as I'm concerned he's ripping off Trap-Jaw's gimmick.
Interesting take.
Serveral other MOTU figures have that gimmick. (Roboto and Bray Wyatt). You don't have to move the jaw if you don't want to. The head sculpt is definitely more accurate to the vintage toy.
Totally bought
i got to get mine
So you’ll be getting t!?
