Such a good content! Thank you ...amazing girl! For everyone who is age 14 or similar and think is too old .....take a note I'm 31 and decided to start acting. There is no limit ....well only in your head! x
My family doesn't believe in me they say I'm not worth casts time and why try if I'mma fail so I gave up for a couple of years but I was secretly practiced and now I joined a acting class and I'm doing way better and in happy with myself! :)
I just told my brother that I was planning on doing a audition. Because there’s a brother role and I felt like he would be great. He’s done acting in school plays. But he laughed at my face and told me I can’t act. He never seen my acting before. Anyway I’ll make sure he regrets that.
I've worked as an extra for movies/tv shows since I was 9. I'm in love with the camera and have done musicals (local ones not Broadway) and drama classes and even auditioned for my favourite cereal commercial! I'm 13 and I was supposed to start my first acting classes but there cancelled due to the pandemic. Thank you for these exercises I do them daily now and they helped me improve so much! Thx 💖💖
I love improvising, practising every day, I like practising going from each emotion and putting myself in a scenario which would lead to the emotion I was practising. Your videos help me :)
I’m in year 10 and have always loved acting but no ones really known because I’m scared they’ll judge me, I’ve never had classes but just always been interested in it and when I’m home alone I’ll read scripts lolll. I’m sooo scared to start classes but I’ve been thinking about it for over a year now but always talked myself out of it, but because I’m 14 do you reckon I’m too old? Like if I went to classes I feel like everyone would of been doing acting for yearssss
Hey Lily, you’re definitely not too old to start. We often have beginner teenagers joining our classes, and adults for that matter. I think many people feel similar to you, and yes there definitely will be people who are more advanced but if you’re in a decent drama/acting school everyone will be understanding. I’d recommend taking a teenage beginner course in acting if you can find one - something not too long term such as a 10 week course or a week long intensive course so you can see if it’s something you really want to do, then sign up to classes with a certain drama group if you like. I hope to be coming out with some ebooks of classes that can be done by yourself in March/April so hopefully something like that could be helpful to you as well. In terms of being judged, one of the best benefits of doing acting classes is that they increase your confidence so hopefully that would help you care less about what people think, although that’s easier said than done. In my experience people have never said anything negative about me taking acting classes when I was in school, in fact it allowed me to be the director of our final year play which is a very sought after position for the show.
Drama Made Simple thank you so much for your advice! I’ll look into finding a course or something maybe, im still scared but I’ll try my best haha. Also love your videos please keep making them 🖤🖤hope your channel gets big !!
@@lilyx1769 Best of Luck! Hope to hear updates on your progress in the future. And thank you! I will keep making them, intending to get on a regular posting schedule and hopefully the quality will improve a lot the better I get at this whole filming thing :)))
I started taking classes for on-screen acting almost a year ago, and I’m 46! You’re never too old. Especially if you take acting seriously. I feel that I’ve learned so much in that small amount of time. And I’m at that point where I’m ready to take the next step and start auditioning. I’ve booked a headshot session! The next step for me is to seek out the right agent for what kind of projects I want to do. (Some agents focus on commercial bookings, etc.) But, Lily, I cannot stress how incredibly important classes are in your growth as an actor. Ask around. Maybe get a reference from a friend for a particular studio. That’s how I found my instructor. And also, make sure they are teaching the things you want to focus on. Like theater acting, vs film and television, because these are completely different animals. Anyway, I support you and encourage you to take the leap into some classes. It can be scary but after a few months you’ll see how much you’ve grown out of that shell. I hope this helps! Cheers!
@@kristianpeterson2571 Exactly! A skill like acting has nothing to do with what age you start but the dedication and training you put in to it. And your point about finding the right class is crucial. Some schools may be all exam focused meaning that they only care if you pass the acting exam at the end of the year and can say your few pieces correctly... The school I've been brought up in is very much about transferable acting skills so the skills you learn when preparing one role can be used for future work.
i’m 13, and the film business is my absolute passion. i love it so much. i have to make decisions about what i’m doing at GCSE in a couple weeks. i really want to do drama for GCSE but everyone who takes drama in my school gets made fun of. i’m terrified of being picked on :( i want to follow my dream though. i don’t know what to do to be honest.
If it is your dream, you will regret it if you don't do it. As you get older, you will see that the people who continued to work on their dreams through all of the ridicule they experienced, became successful because they believed in their vision. I know it is hard to ignore those silly bullies, but I promise you, you will be very happy you made the decision to follow your dream when you are older. :) The bullies are the ones who will work dead-end jobs for the rest of their lives because they don't know what it's like to have a big dream. ;) Good luck!
I'm 13 too and will have to make those decisions in a couple of months. I also want to take drama (and music) because I've always been passionate about both. I just don't know how my parents would take it :(
This is good , thank you! You should do a demonstration of these exercise and show your skils ♥️ this will help eveyone that is just starting. Thank you for everythin
THANK YOU, THANK YOU , THANK YOU. nobody supports me in my life i'm a teen and my mom and dad won't let me go to a actingclass because they think I won't like it or they will say something like ''you will never be a good actor'' and my twinbrother hates it when I have something for my own and he says ''no u don't like that''
You're awesome. That was terrific information. I'm starting my acting lessons with your information. I'm not very expressive, so putting my head between my knees, and crawling up in a ball are going to be funny.
Tomahawk being expressive is something I struggled with in the past. Trying out different movements is definitely very helpful for this! Never practice static. Try to connect your movement to objectives
Thank you so much for this. I feel like there’s nothing else im meant to do but act. I’ve never had an outlet for my emotions but acting scenes from movies when I’m alone. I feel like it’s the only thing I genuinely believe I can be amazing at. I’ve never believed in myself when it came to doing anything but when I saw Tom cruise jump out the window in the first MI, when I was little, I knew I wanted to act. I’m ranting now so I’m gonna shuttup but again thank you for this.
Thanks for this video. I really loved the exercises and It will certainly help. Perhaps on next videos, you could actually give practical examples. Thank you
I always wanted to be an actor but I keep losing motivation and I make impulsive decisions and just give up but regret it later. I feel like I will be judged and I’m worried others will be so much better. And I don’t know where to start because I can’t sing so doing drama at a theater would be hard but I don’t know where else to start.
I want to be A LOT of things when am older I want to be a rapper a singer and a actor but I don’t think I can fit all that in maybe it will be too much work but I really love your videos they really help me
Hi Julia, it’s great to be ambitious. I think the most important thing is to do something that gives you a purpose in life. Following your passion is great but passions change and fade, purpose doesn’t
I think that I would be good at doing more horror and sad-misunderstood characters, like James Dean played... horror would also be something for me because I've always loved horror movies and think sometimes what I would do in a situation like that, although I would never actually want to be in one.
Hey I know I am pretty late, but I started musical theatre last year, and I have the pipes and can sing pretty well. When I am home alone where I can not be judged, I can act really really well and make scenarios on the spot. But as soon as you put me in front of a crowd I can never think how to say lines in a script. Does anyone know how to help?
I loved these exercises, I decided to get back into acting after a while.. is it bad that it got tiring doing the exercises? maybe its because i didn't eat breakfast lol
My literal response to all those situations was “Fuck! Fuckfuckfuck. Fuuuuhhhhck (pulls hair out).” It was stressful putting myself In those situations 😂 I suck at acting.
Acting is a skill at the end of the day. it requires dedication and training. Sure there are some people who have "natural talent" but most people practice and practice and practice. Follow your passion but at the end of the day it is the same as any career in an artistic field -- it is risky and you can't always depend on it financially so that is something to consider
Hi there, creativity is a skill that can be learned, you just have to be open to it and not telling yourself you can’t. It’s just a way of thinking at the end of the day so you need to allow yourself to be free
This is late but my school doesn't have plays or drama or anything like that. Is there still ways i could get into acting? Or somewhere i could start for not acting at all in my life?
courtney definitely! There should be some drama classes in your area. Drama is not part of schools here in Ireland but is usually done outside of school
Can I suggest you a thing if you want to gain lots of subscribers like millions of views check our stupid reaction channel actors doing reactions 😭 , great time pass too👍 So many people do like that😭 and you can teach also no yeah and sell
Comment Your Favourite Exercise!
Hi!! I really like your videos. Do you have a video on vocal exercises for stage? Also are on social media? Thanks, Joseph

Thank you for your comment Sylwia! I think there is so many people that feel this way so reassurance is key
Yes! More people need this great encouragement!
I’m 23, and turn 24 next month. Thanks for the inspiration. 🙏🏾
this is so underrated!

I agree

that's the attitude !👌🏼
Mearii your bro will def regret it !!
Don’t do it to make him regret it. Do it because you love it and it makes you happy. Him realizing you’re committed and talented will just be a bonus

Thats so annoying! Im trying to do as much as possible over the next few weeks to produce some at home classed
I love improvising, practising every day, I like practising going from each emotion and putting myself in a scenario which would lead to the emotion I was practising. Your videos help me :)
my favourite was the last one because it was more easy and relatable to attach the line in monologues. thanks dear ! great work.
OMG all the situations you gave made me nervous in real life imagining them actually happening lol Great video!
Same 😂😭😭
