I'm really happy you found this video helpful. I know I always appreciate when others share their settings and time it takes, it's a learning curve for me too. For this video I tested cutting and engraving on different materials endlessly, so that I could share the correct setting in my video and I am happy it's appreciated, thank you ❤️
Awesome video. Made the way ALL engraving videos should be made. I’ve watched literally hundreds of engraving videos and this is definitely one of the top 2 or 3. Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge!
That’s great, thank you for watching and I’m glad you found the video helpful. I’ve just uploaded another video on the xtool F1, testing even more materials (with settings of course) 🙂
Oh wow!!! This is so cool!!! I can tell how much fun you had playing with it! That was very kind of you to share your settings with us as well. Enjoy your new “toy” and make more beautiful things!! 💜💜💜
I really did enjoy using this new toy 😃 there was just so much I could do with it and I’ll explore even more. Soon our whole house will be engraved with images 😂 the kids will love it ❤
I'm so happy you found this video helpful 😊 if you'd like to see more videos on this clever little machine, you can check out my latest video. More useful tips there 🌟
That's so lovely to hear, I'm happy you found this video to be helpful. The xTool F1 is really great and I hope you have fun crafting with it once you get it ❤
Research xtools products, in my opinion way far superior.. glowforge is way behind in the times and way too expensive.. myself, im sold on xtool. Im just undecided whether i want the p2 or the s1
Thanks so much for this video, I just ordered an F1 yesterday with the bundle kit. It came with the air filter and the rotary, etc.. I cannot wait to receive it, I just subscribe to your channel. Your videos are great, I love the way you explain things. I feel like you take the time and show everything. I can't wait to engrave some rings! Thanks again your videos are great!
That’s amazing, I’m so happy for you! ❤️ I’m sure you will have an amazing time playing with this machine I just love using it, it’s so fast and easy to operate. Be sure to use a good quality protective glasses when using with the rotary 🙂 thank you for watching 🌷☀️
My main concern has always been how shallow laser engraving is on gold rings. It's too easy to polish out after ring sizings. Can you run multiple passes on the same engraving inside a ring to get greater depth?
Hi! I just saw two of your videos about this and xtool D1 pro. I want to engrave photos on stainless steel. Which one do you think have better finishing results? 😊
You’ve probably worked it out already but the photo fade at the top of the picture is because you need to do an IR pre heat which is in the settings. Easy fix.
Thank you for sharing! I recently got F1 and am having problems engraving the inside of the ring, the engraving always turns out slanted somehow. Have you experienced a situation like this?
Hi! great video! helpfull! right now I having trouble to frame with the software, can you help me? when I press "frame" the rotary just spin but is not clear here is it going to engrave inside the ring... thank you.
@@adalizkareli2681 hi, I’m not too sure what the problem is, but if you focus the machine properly and tilt the ring, it should work and engrave it. If you can, just order some cheap stainless steel rings and try it on those first ❤️
Hi! Thank you for the video! I was wondering if you could list the materials you used in the video, add some links (Amazon maybe?). I am particularly interested in the cardstock you used for the card (flower shaped cuts). Thanks!
Fantastic video and amazing information. I have watched your other (includes the D1 Pro IR) and wondering if you can advise which one to choose between the D1 Pro IR and this F1 for metal, jewelry engraving with a deeper text look. Thanks for your time.
I’m so glad you found my videos helpful ❤️ To answer your question, it depends on what material you want to engrave. I have found the F1 works great on most metals. Every metal I tried so far worked. And I have done even more testing after this video. The depth of engraving can be adjusted in the settings. There were the particular plated brass discs, which I had a problem with, but I ended up putting the speed super slow and it worked eventually. But took a long time to engrave. My D1 pro with IR worked better and faster with these discs. Having said that, I also engraved the rectangular domed plated brass and that was fast and looked awesome. Bare copper took a long time to engrave deeply too. So considering everything, I’d choose the F1 without hesitation. It really is an amazing little machine, for smaller projects. And the fact it engraves over a curved surface is so cool and It’s fast, portable I really love it. I have another video on the F1 coming up soon, where I’m going to explore even more materials and mainly metals like pure gold etc. It should be up in about two weeks 🙂
@@HelenaDaydreamer Morning. Thank you so so much for taking time with the comprehensive suggestion, I really appreciated (first time ask question on youtube in this way and really surprise to have the reply honest) I am personally preferring the F1, consider everything mentioned. It is going to be for my start up personalize business where aiming for customized personal gift, like leather tag, wood, silver (jewelry). One feature I am planning is to have different color display on the object engraved, for example, same text or name can have different color on different wood to make the text looking stand out, which I read the description of the D1 Pro (there are over 300 color choice can be adjusted and processed). So I am wondering if you have any experiment regarding that aspect? I am sorry for many questions, it is a very important tool for my business and I would like to get it right in the first place (with your help, I can have a shortcut for the journey) Thank you so much for your time.
@@transfertalk-x5v I’m happy to help if I know the answer 🙂 with the colour of the engraving, I’m not sure if I understand right, but I’ll try to answer anyway. With wood, the deeper the engraving, the darker the colour. Metals are the same, but the engraving isn’t going to be really deep(you’d need a fiber laser to do that) but it marks the metal and you can feel it being engraved. The stronger the power + slower the speed the darker the engraving. You can also play with settings and engrave metal like stainless steel with colour(it’s not actual colour of course it’s just going to produce different shades and tints with different settings) I am not a very patient person and so I appreciate the speed of the F1 (as well as other features) I’d say cutting wood seems to be better on my d1 pro 20, it’s a cleaner cut, less charring and straight. F1 is faster at cutting, but seems to burn the edges more, plus the cuts are slightly angled. But it’s ok, I still like it. I hope that helped and don’t worry asking more questions, I understand it’s an investment and you want to be informed 👍🏻
Is there a way to engrave the metal without or coming out black? Instead I am looking to see if it will engrave more with a metal look Rather than black.
This machine and all the diode lasers that can engrave metal using blue laser or infrared laser(depending on the type of metal you are using) will only mark the metal. You will be able to feel the marking with your finger nail, but it is not a traditional deep engraving you get using a Fiber laser or engraving by hand. The black colour is an oxidisation of the metal and you'll be able to rub it off or it will rub off eventually through wear(shower, swimming pool etc) Once it does, depending on how deep the marking is, the design will still show, but it will be not as deep as standard engraving if it makes sense. I'll try to make a video on this and show examples.
hi i want to make customized name initials necklace of gold plated stainless steel for my customer, I have a question when I cut the metal do I need to polish it and if yes how can I polish it as I know the cut edges don't have the gold plating
This machine can’t cut metal, you’d need a really powerful fiber laser, probably industrial type. Some less powerful fiber lasers can cut thin sheets of metal, but those would probably not be strong enough for necklaces. This machine can mark the metal and engrave and cut various types of other materials.
Fantastic ! Thank you for this wonderful discovery ! I'd like to know if it's possible to print a small logo on an 8mm diameter steel bead with this laser machine ?
I’m happy you found this video helpful 🩵 I haven’t tried that, but honestly I think you can. The engraving goes over curved surfaces, so I can’t see why it wouldn’t. Next time I use it I’m going to try and let u know 👍🏻
Hi, I haven't tried engraving solid gold, but the disc I had was 14k gold filled. The settings for silver were the same I used on my D1 Pro with IR module and they seemed to work great. But I'm sure you can reduce the power/ increase the speed to get lighter engraving. Or even darker one if you play with the settings.
