I've known Dax since the 4th grade. It's amazing to see how he's grown. He's always had a certain ambition about him especially in basketball so much so it was even intimidating. Music being my passion, hearing more of his story from his own words, thought process and his approach to getting results has been refreshing and i'm charged up. Congrats Daniel- MB
@@BatistaInvests maybe it’s his flow, delivery, cadence or all. Not to be negative because he has a great fanbase so he’s definitely doing something right but my ears just aren’t satisfied lol respectfully
@reem.dollas Depending on what style you prefer, I mean it's hard to say You Should've Known or Dear Alcohol aren't good songs. And very different. Going from banger rap or bars to meaningful melodic work. Dear God is brilliant writing even for non religious types.
@@TrendsetterMusicOnlyI don't think he was saying Dax makes bad music. It's just not his preference. For example, Beyonce isn't a bad artist by any means but not my cup of tea. Understandable
Thank you for the great interview. Showing the world the man behind the music most people aren’t familiar with. Simple complexity, very intellectual, very deep.
Distro deal. There’s a lot of artists who have distro deals with labels and there’s a lot of artists who have deals with distributors but receive label services. Indie is about control and revenue splits, not I don’t do partnerships with anyone.
Man, shoutout Dax. This one of the most authentic and inspiring interviews I've seen this year. Haven't really dug into his catlaog but I'm a fan now for sure
I opened for Dax in 2022. Great live energy and the show was dope. Great to see him on here, I'm surprised he isnt spoken about more on indie music podcasts like this cause he's made his own lane bigtime. He was the fastest growing artist last year on TikTok I believe. Crazy work rate.
So as much as you claim @Dax is independent, he isn't. We all realised this when major labels decided to remove their songs from social media. Go deeper and check who actually is his distributor
This is misinformed man. Distribution deals don't mean someone is not independent. If that were the case, then the majority of artists are signed. I'm not going to write a text book in this post, but this simply isn't correct.
Noted. Looking forward to your book or maybe you can do an episode where you delve more into the same issue. I'm a learner and I like to learn, all the more reason I follow you guys.
I feel Dax I played football way to long just started music 2020 .. national championship winner! One dollar donation man!! Etc I listen to bro everyday!! Lots of value here. Better era BUT it takes a mind-shift to appreciate it. Appreciate the conversation.
Don’t really like his music like that but he’s top 5 as far as marketing for sure!
How can you not?

@@reem.dollas right on. Do you listen to 1 track and call it done or do you listen to an entire body of Work and then decide?
