Mayumi Tanaka, who plays Luffy, is a legendary voice actress who turned 70 this year. She played the lead role of Kappei in the anime "Dash Kappei" that I watched 40 years ago when I was in elementary school, and sang the opening and ending themes😊 In my image, her voice hasn't changed at all since then😱I don't remember too well, but I think she started her entertainment career as a child actor, so I think she's been active for over 60 years😅
You should also check out Rica Matsumoto, she's the voice of Ash Ketchum's japanese voice from Pokemon and she's a GREAT singer, not sure if you're familiar with the First Take series but she was great in it, she sings many of the opening songs and the XY&Z pokemon opening is considered #1 pokemon opening and opening song. She also sings the opening Alive-a-Life , the opening song for Kamen Rider Ryuki (Dragon knight for those who seen the eng dub). Btw chopper voices a certain female uchiha in Boruto....
They did something similar with Film Red, having all the strawhats sing again, that time they did Binks Sake, you should check that out when you get to Thriller Bark or are caught up ❤

...it's not that uncommon for anime voice actors to sing their own openings and endings. Aoi Yuuki does it in every show she's in I think? Still, this is One Piece, so it's automatically special.
I managed to convince my friend to watch one piece from beginning. He rejected many times becos at that time its already 700-800 episodes. after he started watching it, he caught up in 3 months and even more fanatic than me
