Had a story game idea in mind. Have no idea where to start. Gives me somewhat of an idea.
I like the life is strange vibe to it but not sure how well it would be perceived if some markings were not changed in a sort of final product if it were published as entire game some point.

this is great work, thank you for making it! One thing I noticed when playing the demo though was when I saved in the sub-level, exited and tried to continue/ load the game it would spawn my character in an empty environment.

Thanks for you comment. This template will be quite different to the first person template so merging won't be possible I'm afraid. The asset has already been submitted and approved by Epic and will be available very soon. I will then make an announcement on my Discord server (discord.gg/wjWYHjj)

think aobut that in moving forward to add to it ....
also take a freebee character and toss them in for looks, and to give people new ideas how ot migrate in some assets ....

It was very easy to add shooting components in the First Person Story Template, it is very well organized and the code is clear and easy to understand.

To package this game as a mobile device, how to I make the all the in-game function control buttons work for just touching the screen?
What kind of voice bot is used in the demo to say the main character's dialogue?
How did you get the voice acting for this. Was it all computer generated its very good 👍🏻

Will there be an update for UNREAL ENGINE 5 please? Having code issues when updating from 4 to 5 myself :)
I am beyond new at unreal engine, coding, art ect. I am learning, I'm currently going through the fundamentals course on unreal engine and will work through as many courses that I need.
With these templates can I use them add my own art, change the story. Change every thing and upload it? I was wondering the same with the clicker template as well.

To clarify, I read your Q&A, but I’m still a bit confused. Does this not support complex branching? For example, none of the dialogue options can influence / affect the story?

Thanks! Yes, there will be an update but as of now, there seems to be a bug related to widget materials and the engine's custom stencil function which is important for the HUD to work. I'm in contact with Epic to get this issue fixed asap to submit an updated version.

Engnie version 5.0 has issues, make sure to use UE 5.1.

You mean to find similar content? The music was pretty hard to find, tags I've used are "Atmospheric, emotional, inspirational, acoustic". The photographs are actually made by myself!

@palinoia gamedev Hello! I was just looking at your Third Person Story Adventure Template. I am considering buying it while it's on sale, but I've run into a problem. The video looks great, but the demo... well, doesn't look at all. I can get as far as starting a new game, but during the loading screen, the game crashes with an assertion. I know it's near impossible to diagnose a crash on someone else's computer, but I'm wondering if anyone else has reported similar problems to you. I'm baffled. I mean, this is just another UE4 executable. Everything else on UE4 runs ok :(. Obviously, this is a big concern for me in terms of buying the template...
Hello Jakub, thanks for your interest and your message. Immediately after reading your comment, I checked the executable again but it's working fine on my PC. Is it possible that your antivirus software is causing this issue? @@palinoia-interactive Thanks for replying! I will drop by Discord, but today and tomorrow I'm absolutely swamped (lecture prep & delivery). Given your rapid response though, even if we're not able to work it out straight away, I will probably disregard this problem when making the final decision to buy. Whatever the problem is, I can't imagine it being so serious that some troubleshooting with the dev wouldn't nail it eventually.

No, that's not the idea for this type of gameplay. Such interactions are meant to be setup as animation sequences.
