This is the type of content I have been waiting for.
Same👌
Really appreciate this channel. Keep up the great work. These topics will only grow in importance. I wonder what ProtonMail’s justification is for this.
Thanks for the push!
Proton mail is not even private nor encrypted they are the worst liars of all to be honest
2:20 You should change your extensions. Firefox has a setting that replaces the need for HTTPS Everywhere and uBlock Origin > Privacy Badger.
In the Tutanota faq page says, "Is my address book within Tutanota encrypted? Yes, all data within Tutanota is end-to-end encrypted and only accessible with your password. Scanning and profiling of your data is not possible."
Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for this info Sun! Been working on Proton Mail recently
Do you have any update’s on a full guide to privacy course thanks in advance great video!
Good question… not sure when that will come out, but masterclass is on my mind.
Love the big tv in your studio 👌🏼
Me too!
In android I use SD Contacts that automatically generate a backup of all contacts in filesystem every time they change, then I use syncthing-fork to periodically E2E sync all contacts with my linux server. When I need to restore the backup I use Simple contacts. All these apps are in fdroid and are foss.
This is great, I haven't seen anybody talking about this before. Proton's offerings seem kinda half-baked at best sometimes.
Good content. Thanks
Pleasure!
Nice
Etesync provides end to end encryption for contacts, calendar, tasks and notes.
What an enlightening video!! What about Bitwarden Identity/contacts feature? I think it's not the most convenient, but at least you can store there contacts information until you know what to do on that regard
Not sure about Bitwarden… haven’t looked into that option given I was also looking for calendar sync. Perhaps others can pitch in?
Yes, that can work. Bitwarden is OpenSource, End to End encrypted and 3rd party audited. Only, Bitwarden does not offer a solution for calendar
Did not know this!
I am having the same issues looking to what solution you find
Do you speak Swedish to as you do French?
Thanks!
Unfortunately encrypting all contact names means its just a list. Allowing email to find the name adds functionality. Just allowing cut and paste for example is another hole. I understand the concern but I think there is some overreaction on his part.
So let me see if I got this straight. protonmail MUST know the reciever of emails you send and knows the sender of emails you recieve, but they don't have to log this information. Correct?
Great content!!
Thanks for the push!
Algorithm.
So let's say, you were using the Tutanota App and the Tutanota Calendar and Contact list.
I assume that this is hermetically sealed so no other apps can access the contact list.
What if you also use Signal and Threema? At least Signal is using Phone Numbers so it needs access to a contact list.
This would not be possible unless you "break open" the E2EE Tuta contact list, right? Can you check this please? :-)
From what I understand, there have been recent developments with Signal and they have changed their business model. you may wanna stay away from signal and opt for Session or Briar.
@@kairophilos what changes has Signal made to their business model?
@@cajal6 I think he means funding. Only single digit percentage of donations originate from users. Most of the funding comes from big business. "Whose bread I eat, whose Song I sing" is a German saying in direct translation.
Also I just noticed that I have to update Signal to a newer version or else I cease to be able to send messages. I tried to avoid updating due to the planned implementing of the new European "Chat Control". But I guess this will be the same approach witha an API within the Google Play Services, just like with C-19. I wonder if Graphene or CalyxOS will implement this.... Let's hope not.

Can protonmail be used to register on websites and purchase online?. No problem ?
yes, it is an e-mail.
which password manager is best 1password or apple fastlock for highest amount of safety
Bitwarden
@@kairophilos what makes bitwarden standout from 1 password and apple fastlock can u give detailed explained whenever u get time
Bitwarden. Hands down
@@himalayachoudhary231 It is free and open source, has good governance, has been audited several times and is recommended by security researchers.
@@kar71key thanks a lot for reply pal i really appreciate just last question i had if u can answer that it be great why 1 password is bad compared to bitwarden is 1 password easy to hack or its because of preimum plan ur saying its better or they sell data or can have data breach because im a buisnness traveller money dosent matter just need ease of acces and high secuirty.
