When it comes to scammers I just hit the report button when available, when it's not available it goes into the spam file and that's how I tend to deal with them. Oh, white gel pens! So true, I always test them off on black scraps. Also test black gel off onto white. Often they “blop” and make me angry. Especially on critter eyes. I test the black gels off a LOT while using in one session.

Great cards, Justine! Every one! I’ve always loved kraft cardstock although I’ve never used layering stencils. I’m encouraged to try them by what you’ve done here. I would never have expected the rose stencil to have worked so beautifully. Thank you for sharing your creativity.

Yup I was one of those paeople who got a scamming “you’ve won” replies. I figured it was bogus when you didn’t get back to me. Glad to know you addressed the issue.

Although I haven’t tried it, I’ve seen that white embossing powder over white pigment ink, rather than clear embossing powder, really makes the white embossing POP. Pretty sure it was Laurel Beard who showed it.

Wow, Justine, all those cards looked awesome. I’ve not been inspired by layering stencils but that rose was stunning. I agree that it probably needs the white pigment as a first layer to ground the others.

Love the cards! Thanks for talking about the scammers. I was very close to being scammed. I had never won before and they had the artists picture and name and I really thought it was legit. Something kept telling me it wasn’t and I’m glad I listened to my gut. It was a scam. Terrible what people do to others! TFS! ❤
Yes , it’s happened to me and all I done was leave a comment, my UA-camr didn’t even have a compition running

Great cards! I try to add in a craft or black cardstock in the bundle of cardstock I use to mass stamp an image. I will do that for stamps I plan to color with pencil so I can always find something to do.
I’m sorry that any of us have to deal with scammers in our everyday lives. My husband informed me that an old email address of mine was found on the ‘dark web’. I was already having some issues with it and was using a new one anyways. But when I went into my old one, because the content was still there of things in saved, everything was gone…just vanished into the ether…gone 😐
I have a whole pack of kraft cardstock (though mine is more 'paper bag' ish color) that I have never used. Had it for years...I guess maybe it's an unsung hero? 😂 Time to pull it out I guess.

Thanks Justine for mentioning the Scam. I've had one of those comments in a previous video of yours. I wasn't sure about it, as you hadn't mentioned any giveaways in the video. It did seem a bit weird. But it's good to know for sure now.Thankfully I didn't follow up on it. It is so unfair for scammers to use real people for their own gain. I hope other people are wary too and don't fall for it.

Yes I got one of those messages after I bought the sunflower dies and stamps from you Justin. I didn't pursue it though re a prize that I had supposedly won. You later sent me a message saying that it was a scam. Beautiful cards Justin 😊

Happened to me - one a giveaway but it didn't "feel" right so I declined. So glad I did!
I got one of these under your name but I just deleted it and reported it. Crazy!

I have a couple of questions about the scammers. Is it the UA-cam's account that is being hacked and therefore some of us get these weird messages? Do you as a UA-camr see these comments or just us the viewers? When I have received them I try to report them and then I block them as well. I had one guy from Florida tryimg to reach out to me a couple of days ago (ewww). I reported and blocked him as well.
My UA-cam channel isn’t hacked. They create a new account, take my picture and name add my name as the username usually with a few extra words like you won justine Hovey or giveaway from Justine Hovey. I don’t get notified of the comments, but I can see them if I click and go through comments on videos. This makes it hard because it’s now always the newest video that gets hit.
@@justinehovey don't you just wish they could find something else to do. What a nuisance! 😠
May I ask the brand and kind of cardstock that you were using? It seems somewhat lighter in color than my kraft and I like it much better.
I'm not entirely sure to be honest, I think it was Desert Storm from Neenah.

Great cards. Sorry many of the craft channels have this problem. One crafter said the scammers are targeting give aways. A while ago a lot ot legit channels were shut down by FB because they thought they were spamming comment's. Its a pity that you all have to put up with and have to protect yourselves because of others using your platform to commit scams
I've had one giveaway video in the last few years and my channel was targeted far before that unfortunately.
Someone tried to scam me on Laura Basson's channel. She was part of a blog hop where you create entries by posting on each blogger's UA-cam video. Laura must have caught it right away and deleted it because when I went to check the notification I received, it wasn't there.

I have to admit I have had these messages a couple of times on comments I have made on your videos - they looked really suss so I didn't follow through. Figured you wouldn't use that as your primary way to contact someone....

I'll be 69 in a week or so. Not young is my point. Also not a techy so I'm amazed anyone can be fooled by these tactics. Very sad.
