    lol you are as bad as I am with the not ironing your fabric before cutting. It makes me happy to know I'm not alone :) In all honesty, I would do the seam in front. I did felt house boots in a similar pattern and it was easier to adjust. I also like my hose droopy. ;-)

      The seam in the front sounds like it would be more comfortable to stand on. However, from a historically accurate perspective, all of the period examples that I have found so far have the seam on the backside of the hose / sock.
