Delta Pro 1800 watt array runs portable ac for 10 hours straight. 1600SQ FT House.

Today is going to be 97°F here in East Tennessee. Decided to run the Hisense Portable 12k btu ac off the Delta Pro with our homeade 1800 watt solar array. these are 18 X 100 watt renogy and HQST panels. 6S3P. We were able to help the 3 Ton airconditioner keep the house to a cool 73-74 °F all day with the Main house airconditioner not coming on till about 2PM and the House Airconditioner would run for 15 minutes and off for 30 minutes. we did not see our full 1600 watts today due to 2 reasons. 1 was the temperature and 2 a slight haze in the sky. I calculated we produced about 9.6 KWH of solar today and used about 12.3KWH since we started at about 40% and ended with about 16%. airconditioner never turned off. ran at 1130-1220 watts for about 10.3 hours today.

Window ac is much more efficient.

@AldousHuxley7 I'm sure there are alot more efficient units both window and portable acs. What other info or suggestions do you have and are as cheap as $100?

@@jaysonstebbins2539 the portables are very inefficient theyll say 8000 btu (5000 btu) because the heat doesnt vent out right. An 8000 btu window ac should use less watts and get 3000 more btu than a portable 8000 btu

@AldousHuxley7 so that's called SACC. This 12,000 btu portable is terrible because it only has a SACC rating of 7500btu. Seasonal adjusted cooling capacity.
