I’d recommend putting a piece of thin plastic or even cardboard like a cereal box under the bridge when puttin on the springs. The beige can crack finishes or create indents.
You kinda want it to float at least a bit so you can pull up as well as push down. Otherwise why replace the stock trem? The tuning stability you're paying for is so you can use it more than just the odd single note bend down. Luv and Peace.
I came here looking for ideas on how to adjust the spring setup when going to a different thickness of strings. I also found it a little perplexing they would install it against the body like that. I expected something more like how reverend sets up a wilkinson ua-cam.com/video/YL6XzvNcU2E/v-deo.html
The floyd rose springs just have to be modified a bit! Remove the coating on the end that goes into the block and if the insert tang is too long... take off a mm or two! As for post height specs! Yeah right! Every guitar and every set up situation is different! And it's also personal preference!
Nice, but no one has video on drilling those posts without using the overpriced StewMac template. Gonna have to do it myself I guess. I refuse to do the 6 bolt bridge.
@@old_romans I'm also about to do this - this thread explains the theory (in case you have not already found it): forums.fender.com/viewtopic.php?t=14511 . I may send you a comment again when it's time for me to drill for mine in a month or so if that's OK, to see if you have any tips...
much obliged. I know there are severel people who will find that link useful. I will make a video of my own when the time comes...still shopping for a neck.

There's no point setting anything until the bridge is under tension. It's a floating bridge. It will change as the strings are tuned.

This is so great. Poser Fauxcaster. I'd pay to come hear you play just based on that!
Grind the plastic off the tips of the silent springs
Exactly.
So many missed opportunities in this video.

Great video, great bridge!! :)
Question: the posts/screws that the knife edges are in contact with...does the depth they are in the shafts affect how tight/loose the tremolo feels?
Is there any installation guide for this thing anywhere? Like what size holes to drill, etc...?
how did you know where to drill for the 2 points?
No measurements no info. Why does this exist
What kind of pickguard is that? Looks like just Pearl/black?
I recommend to rout it first
Why did you use the Home Depot M9 inserts rather than the inserts that came with the Wilkinson tremolo?
I'm going to go out on a limb and say he used the M9 bolts to thread into the inserts and a hammer to drive them into the body.
@@chrisfleury7883
He did say that he "pounded them in", Lol
He also "eyeballed it"
I love to watch a true engineer at work.
You could install a Floyd on this couldn’t you with the studs in
A guy could drill the holes to use different springs.. Incase anyone is looking for an answer...
Is this a 2 point chrome?
Why did you never tell us what model trem that is? Am I missing something?
Tom, At 4 seconds in, you can see the label on the box - it's a Gotoh VS100N.
Gotoh/Wilkinson VS100N
Well that didn't show nothing at all
They don't fit 6 pin
Fercackde....😂🤣😅
Did the body come with the post holes predrilled?
Yes it did. With Warmoth you can choose from a couple of tremolo routes
