*These are cool boots! I have a Christmas idea for you! Make a pair of boots with red and green leathers! Or all red. Or all black in some kind of Santa style. You'll figure it out 😊! Something to look like a pair of Santa boots would be cool to see. It would make for a fun video to get people in the spirit of the holidays.*
That is pretty neat looking leather. The natural look of the leather is different than most leathers you see. If it's possible, could you put what type of boot that's being made.
That would be the leather liner. A leather liner in Nicks boots, or any other boot, primarily functions to provide structure and shape to the interior of the boot. It protects the wearer's skin from direct contact with the outer leather, and can also contribute to overall comfort by providing a smooth surface against the foot while also helping to wick away moisture to a certain degree; essentially acting as a barrier between your foot and the outer boot material.
It’s amusing that making shoes still requires nails. One day, if a nail pierces through the sole and into the foot, I wonder how that would feel. They should probably find a better method than this. 😂😂😂
These are how PNW boots are made 😊 Also the nails will never pierce any feet. There's a foot shaped object called a last. It has a metal plate on the bottom. The nails are hammered into the leather materials, and then hit that metal plate. The nails are called crimp nails, because when they are hammered and hit the metal plate, the ends "crimp". The ends of the nails curl making a shape similar to the letter "J". They curl back into the leather, keeping the materials together. They'll never pierce any feet though, since the ends of the nails turn into nubs. You won't feel them 😊 The nails together with the contact glue, and the stitching create a very strong pair of boots purposely made to be tough. This method has worked for many years. So now you know why they use nails. The boots are made for hard jobs. Anyone can buy them though. Nick's Boots also has videos on lasting, ones about why they use nails, and how the nails work. Feel free to look them up. Enjoy!
