@@patches_ I maybe wrong, but I think the actor who played Mike, was so shocked about what happened he just automatically aimed at Gus, without meaning to.
Yes! The pointing of the gun towards Gus is so cool, looks real and human. I mean, not that he cared about Victor (maybe) it was just automatic, he felt threatened for a second.

It’s weird what people constitute as a creep nowadays. If you are a nerd or just a little bit different to the average person then people call you a creep. It’s a sad world we live in
I don’t think Jesse is “turning into” a bad guy. He’s racked with guilt about killing Gale and believes he deserves the situation he’s in now, so he’s just accepting it, and he’s numbed himself so he can cope. Walt’s ego won’t allow him to feel this type of guilt, accept responsibility, or acknowledge his own weakness, so that’s why he seems kind of oblivious to the severity of his new situation, hence the diner scene where Jesse is explaining to Walt where they stand with Gus now.
tbf most movies also overdo it fiction in general it’s rare to see an accurate depiction because they rather keep it more entertaining. BB is very clearly grounded and meant to be set in our reality as the makers put in extra effort for all those details even the meth making
I don't think Jesse's embracing the "being the bad guy", not anymore after what happened with Thomas, I think he knows now he has standards. Instead, he's just so shocked by everything that happened in the last 24 hours, it's too much. Like he said "you're gonna wish I killed you". He is dead, emotionally, at least for the time being.
This show does a great job a humanizing the characters. We forget that although a lot of them seem like nice or reasonable people, they are all responsible for a tremendous amount of pain & suffering. Even Gale who seems almost pure has probably cooked thousands of pounds of incredibly potent meth. How much of that was sold to kids? Sold BY kids? How many people got hopped up & killed someone? The destruction is incomprehensible.
Gus' only line in this entire episode was "Well... Get back to work." letting his body language and actions do the talking. One of the best acted scenes in the show if you ask me.
17:16 Walt is not doing well, either. His coping mechanism is to pretend that he has the situation fully under control. Internally, he is shitting his pants because he doesn't know what Gus is going to do. He is not confident at all about his situation, hence why he keeps talking to fill the silence. Jesse is more honest about how he truly feels. The fact that Spartan seems to be reading Walt's reaction as confidence is astounding to me.
I think the most impactful moment is the absolute shock and horror on Mike's face. He's been working with Gus for a long time. Apparently even he didn't expect something like that. Please tell me you'll continue with Better Call Saul Next. That show has all of your favorite characters origin stories. I'm dying for you to start that show...
@@VVoudeit’s hard for me to pick because they’re so different (without getting into details) and breaking bad was a perfect show imo, especially when it came out during episodic tv and before netflix. It feels paced for tv and it’s really well done in that context. BCS is also a masterpiece though.

Great episode reminder that beyond the polite talk and nerdy appearance, Gus is deep down a killer. The way he did it casually and quietly is what makes it so scary.
I also saw it as a direct answer to Walt's claims about "taking extreme measures" to defend himself. Gus is vicious and ruthless to the core. It was a very much a statement to Walt that he is just as willing to take extreme measures if he feels his operation and control (and by extension, himself and his livelihood) are threatened, even just by one of his being seen at a murder scene regardless of Victor being involved.
Gus killed Victor for several reasons, not just because he was seen at Gale's apartment. Victor was trying to cook without permission, he was overstepping his job. Gus was also sending a message: Know your place (and don't F with me). Victor was the expendable one.
Rounds can do some crazy shit too. There's been cases of people being shot in the body and the round came out the top of their head. Ricocheting off bones and whatnot.
I agree, I think the reason it may look strange is because it's usually not very realistic in other shows & movies. This is more accurate to the point of being inconsistent with expectations.
Seasons 3 and 4 are what put this show on the map and moved it from an obscure show to the most talked about show on television. Season 4 is my favorite. It's going to be intense. Enjoy.
I don't think madness is coming over Jesse, I think it's trauma. Like you said, it's a bit of shock, and he's sort of surrendered to the fact that he's inevitably likely to die in this scenario. Even though it's trauma, it's given him a sense of clarity.
I love how people talk about Gail being such a good guy and being sad about what happened to him while completely ignoring the fact that he was a mass producing Meth cook 😂 Just shows how incredible the writing is!
I personally believe most of Gus's rage in this episode is directed at himself, for having yet another person he cared about murdered due to his carelessness, reminiscent of Max
They missed Jesse's key line. Gus will be like "If I can't kill you , I will make sure you wish you were dead". I am amazed at how Jesse was solid and calm and just thought it through. Don't mess with Gus.
A second watch after finishing BB, EC and BCS is so refreshing. The show not only forshadow many things with scenes or dialoges, sometimes only the color of someone can give a hint. And when you think about, this all is a domino effect from Walts choices.
The last two seasons are perfect. The show has finally found the way to tell the story about the complicated lives of multifaceted people and thus became a model drama show it was always meant to be.
The scene was so great because those that didn't see it coming were shocked and those that did were still impacted because of how visceral they played it out. Especially coming off the season ender and not showing the bullet hitting Gale.
I think you have to look at Jesse as someone with severe trauma. His reactions may sometimes seem out of character for the situation, like laughing or dissociating, because he very likely already has PTSD and a lot of grief that he just buries and so he acts out. Like the whole selling meth at the recovery place thing. I think he just believes he's the bad guy so he leans into it because in a sense he has a death wish, and he wants to just keep going so he doesn't have to slow down and think. Very realistic portrayal of that character by Aaron Paul.
23:06 I completely disagree. Tuco is definitely not nothing compared to Gus. It's much easier to work for Gus than it is working for Tuco or any of the Salamancas who are extremely volatile by comparison. Tuco will literally kill a member of his own team for simply for using the wrong word and speaking out of turn. Gus would never do that. Gus & Tuco are both extremely dangerous, but you have much more peace of mind working as a manufacturer for Gus than for Tuco or any of the Salamancas.
Gas was testing Walt and Jessi with the kill.. he wanted to see how each of them will react. The kid had to die cus he was eye witnessed, but Gas didn;t made his death pointless, he gain some info from it too.

In my opion Jesse is the top of the pecking order as he trained Walter very well sometimes beat him up to be a bitch or a dead man whether he waa logical or snart!!
I think the reason Jesse is acting like that isn't because hr is embarrassing being bad like the way he had been doing after therapy but it's more because he is numbing himself to the truama that just happened and he is laughing because of the irony that Gus knows he cant kill them now cuz he needs them so he will make them so miserable with killing a man in front of them that they wish they were dead and that's the way Jesse feels he is so guilty sontraumatized he had been embarrasseing and accepting himself as the bad guy but he hates the way it makes him feel he knows he doesn't want to be that anymore he can't be alone with his thoughts or he will be depressed then he tries to numb himself to it and shaves his head and just doesn't care anymore about himself or anything else
I may be new here, but why are they blurring out the guns?
Pudgey watched before GoT and scared Breaking Bad scenes very interesting remember hank bomb scene
