Rocky ll is my fav, it's was so rewarding to see this "superfight" turn in Rocky's favor at the end and also the character levels and that rivalry. Mickey's positing was one of my favorite points too when he decided to train Rock. "I think we outta knock his block off" 😂 classic
Instead of looking at the unrealistic part of rocky 5 by complaining about how many fights Tommy gun had in a year why don't people see the most obvious unrealistic part about Rocky 5...,which is this ..The time that passed between rocky 4 and rocky 5 is soooo unrealistic, to the point where it almost could of ruined the whole movie..IN ROCKY 4 ROCKY'S KID IS LIKE A LITTLE KID, WHO CAN BARLEY TALK RIGHT.....THEN IN ROCKY 5, WHERE IT SHOWS ROCKY GETTING BACK FROM RUSSIA, AND STEPPING OFF THE PLANE, STILL WITH A FRESH BLACK EYE FROM HIS FIGHT WITH THE RUSSIAN, ALL OF A SUDDEN ROCKY'S KID IS LIKE A YOUNG TEENAGER NOW!! ....what did rocky and Adrian decide to stay in russia and vacation for ten more years before returning home?
Which means about 75% of the value of our money has been taken from us via inflation and run away government spending, money creation, quantative easing, etc, in just about 40 years.
Rocky IV was one of the first movies I remember ever seeing in a movie theater when I was a child and it was awesome! Like a rock concert or something, so that's why part 4 is my favorite. And also why I'm so excited about Creed II picking up that storyline. Great vid!
ik why do people not like rockyIV like the training montage is amazing especially the lines of drago like i must break you and you’ll lose if he dies he dies
In all fairness, Rock did use traditional blocking in quite a few scenes during his first fight with Apollo. It was during the final rounds when he was too wasted that he failed to put up a rudimentary defence. But I do agree with your observation, especially during their rematch in Rocky II
My favorite moment is when Paulie is asking Rocky about what he sees in Adrian. Rocky they tries to explain about how they fill each others gaps. I think about my wife and I and it makes me feel all goosey and stuff.
Rocky V gets a bad wrap, I like it how Rocky loses his fortune because it show how fickle fame & fortune are and how quickly those can be lost. Plus it has the best performance from Talia Shire in the whole series and shows how far the character has come.
Rocky 5 has some of the most emotional and heart warming yet melancholy moments of the whole series. It shows how he has lost his fortune and is back in his old neighbourhood, but how much he’s grown as a person as a result of the journey his career has took him. He now has respect from the people, the love of a good woman, a family. He’s a rich man, despite being broke.
The trouble was the cheapness of the script, how I'm meant to believe rocky is cus and Tommy is a white tyson with nearly the same quotes verbatim, the promoter king and the list goes on.
@@tittybros8736 You've misunderstood. I said that it sucks that I wasn't aware of this movie franchise at all. The only time I've learned was because of this video. I was born in December 13, 1995, what did you expect?
I liked "Rocky III" the best. We were introduced to Mr. T and watched him forward his career into the A-Team with George Peppard. He made a great villain in Rocky III. What about Hulk Hogan? He was at the prime of his wrestling career at that point. We were introduced to the "Eye Of The Tiger" phrase by Apollo, and also the song by Survivor. I really loved all the life lessons in this 3rd Rocky installment. Rocky found friendship and even mutual respect in his once enemy, Apollo, who even stepped in as his trainer. Stallone's character overcame his grief with the loss of his friend and trainer, Mickey. His biggest challenge of all was not believing himself anymore because of Mickey revealing he was always matched up with good fighters, but not the biggest levels. Stallone's character realized he really was worthy and could do anything he set his mind to, by beating Clubber Lang the 2nd time around. The first 2 films were a bit slow pace, especially the original. Rocky III gets you right into the film from the beginning. Overall, I felt the message was, no matter how hard you get knocked down in life, you can always get back up.
The best rocky film's from 1976 - 1990. (for me.) 1. Rocky IV (4), 1985 2. Rocky III (3), 1982 3. Rocky II (2), 1979 4. Rocky I (1), 1976 5. Rocky V (5), 1990
“Happy Birthday Paulie” is officially when the Rocky Franchise jumped the shark. Don’t get me wrong, I love ALL of them but one day 3 & 4 will be looked at as the weakest films because of how batsh!t crazy and tonally different they are. Rocky 5 had the monumental task of trying to bring the series back down to Earth after the insanity of the 80’s and even though it stumbled in places i think it deserves alot more love than it gets.
4 has the best training montage the one before adrian arrives. 3 is a great movie but thunderlips is only low. it introduced ey of the tiger and the training with apollo was amazing
I wish Rocky would have fought Tommy Gunn in a real boxing match at the end and beat him by KO in a few rounds. This would have been a better end to 5.
Rocky 5 has a solid script, but alot of the drama is directed like a bad broad afterschool special. Ironic because the concept was to get away from the cardboard gloss and go back to being more simple and gritty, yet it plays with all the subtlety of a "just say no to drugs" advert.
Its so hard for me to rank the Rocky films, they are all great movies...almost! All i can say for sure is Rocky 3 and Rocky 4 are my favorites, while Rocky 5 is by far my least favorite...so Rocky, Rocky 2, Rocky Balboa, Creed and Creed 2 can be ranked anywhere in between those 3 movies for me!
There is A LOT to be said about a "villain" with a flamboyantly-over-confident yet well-deservedly-arrogant personality! Just look at: Darth Vader(David Prowse & James Earl Jones) in "Star Wars: Episode IV - A New Hope" & "Star Wars: Episode V - The Empire Strikes Back" Emperor Ming "The Merciless" of Mongo(Max Von Sydow) in "Flash Gordon"(1980) Khan Noonien Singh(Ricardo Montalban) in "Star Trek: The Original Series - Space Seed" & "Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan" The Kurgan(Clancy Brown) in "Highlander" Freddy Krueger(Robert Englund) in the "A Nightmare On Elm Street" franchise(1984-2003) Hans Gruber(Alan Rickman) in "Die Hard" The Sheriff of Nottingham(Alan Rickman) in "Robin Hood: Prince Of Thieves" Archangel Gabriel(Christopher Walken) in "The Prophecy" & "The Prophecy II" John Milton aka Lucifer(Al Pacino) in "The Devil's Advocate" Jack Napier aka Joker(Jack Nicholson) in "Batman"('89) The Joker(Heath Ledger) in "The Dark Knight" Apollo Creed(Carl Weathers) in "Rocky" & "Rocky II" And it's because of this that my absolute favorite film in the Rocky franchise is Rocky III, since it has *2* of them(in the forms of ThunderLips & Clubber Lang), as well as the previous 2 films' "villain" returning to join forces with our hero to defeat an even stronger, more confident, more arrogant, disrespectful & down-right insulting villain!
Love the series, it's great and I have a heard time criticizing it but I think it ran for too many films. He should have retired into wealth and peace after he fought the Russian. He had nothing left to prove and was too damaged to carry on fighting.

Emperor Ming "The Merciless" of Mongo(Max Von Sydow) in "Flash Gordon"(1980)
