My pal had a stage 3 S1 with a golf r IS38 turbo on it running 421bhp and it was rapid! Smoked m4 comps for fun on the motorway…. Great little cars. I’d still like to own one if i sell my M2C. 👍🏻

The motor wants and can make power easly unlocked but the clutch always starts slipping..... I think a solid gearbox/transmission is better mod than adding more power cause the stock clutch and transmission was shit to start with.... my be I'm just ranti g about a personal experience ....

Same base engine, EA888. S3 shares Golf R 'CJXG' engine with stronger materials, hence why S1's are usually blown after some time at 450+bhp yet S3 and R can handle abit more.
