Hey I just wanted to thank you so much because you really help me making my webtoon, you are the best and really underrated, Keep going! We love you!
THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!!
I've been struggling to convert my Webtoon pages to page format for a while now, but this video taught me soo much in only 9 minutes!!
Happy to hear it helped. Have fun!
Hi! I wanted to thank you for all your videos, I'm a french artist and since October I'm in touch with a webtoon editor, my webtoon will be published in April!! Your videos really helped me to improve, thank you😁 (sorry for my English )
Wow! That's awesome! Super happy for you. I hope you have an amazing experience. Glad I was able to help. Go kick some webtoon butt!
Hi! What's your webtoons name?
@@Ghost0e It's Vivre avec un Monstre, but it's gonna be on the french webtoon. It's a comedy/ slice of life, talking about me and my dog (the title means : Live with a monster)
I noticed that most webtoons converted to print are mostly done on webtoons layouts that are more traditional, similar to you example. I am curious how other vertical oriented comics with long continues vertical action scenes can be converted to print?
This is crazy! I just started doing this lol. Dope content my guy. I owe you one.
Thank you so much for this video! I recently funded a Kickstarter for printed versions of my webtoon/vertical scroll webcomic.
That's awesome! Congrats.
The only one that I've read from webtoon to print is the Solo Leveling series and that one seems to have been done very well. There aren't any breaks in the panels that leave you confused and things are aligned well enough that it's pretty seamless.
This is such a great video! Thanks Walter!
i'll just say
thank you for all the content you made :)
Aw, thanks!
Thank you Walter! A life saver vid as always. Lol
Thank u this helped
🎉 Happy New Year
Thank youuuu
Hi! Just got into watching your videos, love them! Question: Would the colour profiles come into play here RGB vs CMYK for print? What would you do or if you already made a video about it I would appreciate if you could let me know.. thanks!
Hello Walter, I must say, I've been taking in the advice that you give on how to plan your webcomics as well as the panel length and planning among highlighted ideas. I just want to let you know, I've been taking your advice in mind and using that as the main focus for planning! I really appreciate the advice you give especially for those with big concerns before starting, it's very helpful mate! Speaking of which, I just had a question in terms of starting a webtoon, mainly canvas, or if it becomes an original. How often is it recommended that one posts their episodes (especially for beginners)? Is starting off with a month (like regular comic deadlines) too lengthy or rather two to three weeks better off?
That's what I want
I was thinking about using Amazon as a means to self publish a physical copy of comic; however, the format instructions confuse me. I use CSP, does anyone know whether I could use the default page settings in CSP to upload to their site? I can't find anything and the site instructions confuse me; I'm not great with numbers. Thanks in advance
Hi, Walt!
Just wondering, is it possible to make a webtoon with physical material such as paper, pencil and paints?
If yes, how do I scan them?
Yes, there's no reason you can't do a webtoon with physical art. To scan it in, you can buy a scanner, use your phone to take a picture, or you could also go to a library and use their scanners. Another option would be an office store like staples, office max, kinkos...whatever you may have in your area, they have scanners you can pay to use for a small amount of money. I would suggest you do some tests with simple stick figure art so you can figure out the proper size for the art and figure out the process for going from physical to digital. You may have to do 1-3 panels per piece of paper and string it all together.
The lore Olympus print conversion pissed me off and made me upset cuz it was formatted like ass imo
Oh yeah? That bad? I've seen a few other books and it just seems like they slapped it together to finish it as fast as possible. It can be done well, but it just takes time...which we don't have much of unfortunately.
@@walterostlie I checked the credits and there was someone who was hired to put together the print version. The panels were overlapped and cropped rather liberally. The author of lore Olympus wasn’t credited at all, so I don’t think she had anything to do with it. Overall I was disappointed because there was no balloon moving or changes made for print, because the person who did the editing must have only had the actual WEBTOON to work with, and not the files themselves. That’s my best guess, since I didn’t notice any change in the way word bubbles worked… I just remember being severely disappointed (I graduated college in digital design so it hurt)
Just home and Walter has uploaded a new video! ^^
if you liked that video, this video of Walter could be interesting for you too: ua-cam.com/video/iogOdjuWdMQ/v-deo.html
Happy new Year!
sorry but this looks terrible, would look way better if it was made in the layout of traditional print first.. those gutter spaces are terrible
