Hi chris That was a fantastic sounding amp you've built im yet to try one of your amps but i must say i admire your work. Any insight as to why that one was a little one better? Did you tweak the design or was it just one of those amps with that unexplained mojo. As a hobby builder im always looking to get better each time i build an amp. Seems there are a lot of variables to consider. Kind regards Carl
I've got a Badcat Classic Pro that's rated at 22 Watts, chap I took it to for repair could only get it to measure 7 Watts.. I've still never found an answer to that. It's pretty loud for 7 Watts mind.
I'm curious why this Ainsley amplifier sounds better than any others? Surely if this is the best sounding amplifier you've done, you should remember exactly what you've done differently so you can reproduce the same greatness in future amplifiers? If I owned an Ainsley amplifier and I heard you say that you and Ainsley agree that this is the best so far, I'd be gutted.
Good question, although I’m not sure you’ve quite understood entirely. I’m constantly improving all of my products, either through circuit design or component choice, and whenever I find a better way to do something, it gets implemented moving forwards. I’d question both the commitment and integrity of any builder who doesn’t want to make each amp better than the last! Whenever we get an older amplifier in for service, I always offer to update it to the latest spec, should the customer wish. Cheers 👍 Edit: Also; it’s Aynsley, not Ainsley

Yup, I figured it out. Just certain components values being in the right spot. Easy to replicate in the future :)
Why didn't they switch the positions of the bias ground jack and the full/half power switch? That would make a lot more sense.
