    Oh sweet Sammy! 🖤❤️ My 11 year old golden retriever passed away on 25 August and I miss him dreadfully. He used to put his head on my leg just like Sammy did. It’s so lovely to see him as we usually just hear the tip tap of his nails 😄 Really enjoyable episode Laura, thank you 🙏🏼 Sending love from the UK 🇬🇧 Sam xxx

    I don’t know how many WIPs you have, but I’m a big fan of these types of videos. It doesn’t matter how old the WIPs are! Also love the Show Me Your Stash videos. :)

    Always lovely to catch up with you! And Sammy…his grey eyebrows are the best! Opti is almost 14 years old and oh so grey now!
    I can’t wait to see what you sew with Steph’s prints….I’m a real lover of her shirts…2 of them are paper thin at this point but I still wear them!

    I read the comments and you have a smart viewer, and I think that is the best idea, knit the second sleeve ,no decreases and see; so smart!

      I thought so too! I'm definitely going to do this

    Great catch up! I really like these knit and chat style videos so it would be lovely to see more of those. I’d also be interested in hearing about some of your favourite things like needles and yarn and other crafty stuff. And also hearing about things that catch your eye, like things you want to knit or if any other makers are doing things you mind interesting. Also hearing about any new skills or techniques you want to learn or try and hearing about your learning journey. Looking forward to seeing what you come up with!

    Fun video and so good to see you again. ☺️
    My only wish would have been for the camera angle to be a little lower. ♥️

    Thing that i LOVE to see in podcasts: knits you want to make and yarn you want to make it with, sweater videos (i know you did one though, i dont know if you have many new sweaters since then).

    • @iheartewe
      @iheartewe  Рік тому +1

      Thanks! I'm thinking about doing an episode where I actually TRY ON the sweaters, I feel like that would be helpful? It will be a lot of work but probably worth it

      @@iheartewe I can imagine it would be a ton of work but I would love an episode where you did that and commented on the things you liked/didn't/changed about the fit etc. I feel like many of us make small tweeks to our knits to make them fit our bodies and its helpful to know what someone else is doing to achieve a look, and then how that actually pans out on their body.

    Do the other sleeve without decreases. That way you can see which one you like best.

    I would redo the sleeves. I’ve had that problem with specific designers sweaters and I don’t have large arms, not as thin as Kristen/voolenvine’s “stick” arms as she called hers, but on the thinner side. I haven’t tried one if Jessie Mead’s though. I think you’ll be happier in the end if you fix the sleeves.
    Sammy is so cute!

      I'm glad you enjoyed Sammy! I got some pretty good feedback on things to try for the second sleeve, that I'll definitely share on the next vlog

    Sometimes knitting smaller circumferences changes your gauge, and I've heard Andrea Mowry suggest going up a needle size for sleeves. Between that and maybe eliminating the decreases, you may have your solution.

    • @iheartewe
      @iheartewe  Рік тому

      Thank you for reminding me about this! I remember hearing about the gauge change, but had since forgot all about it

    Hi,
    I think you should pull out 😂, it looked too tight! You won’t be happy with it? Looked like a body suit sleeve, so it would be hard to wear anything underneath. Rip out to just below the shoulder? Would that help,To keep thing less complicated? Having fun watching and knitting a sock,so thNks and happy fall,Melissa.😊

    Gotta rip out the sleeve..looked uncomfortable. I rushed to try on my Clifton crop as for some reason I went down a needle size for the sleeves, which I just realized as I was watching your video! I am definitely not doing any more decreases on it. I'm curious to see what your Island looks like, the coast, town, ferry.

  • @Jmzblondable
    @Jmzblondable Рік тому

    Yeahhhhhh - hate to say it but I think you would love it more if the sleeve was cozy like the rest of the sweater. HATE the idea of ripping out and re-doing but feel like it's worth it if it will make it wearable in the end. :/

    • @iheartewe
      @iheartewe  Рік тому

      you are totally right! I know it needs to happen now, just have to work myself up to actually doing it:)

      @@iheartewe ugh. I feel you. I have a sweater and I need to adjust the hem and just can’t bring myself to do it. Oh and a collar that needs to be adjusted. It’s not nearly as fun as a new cast on.
