The “positive pregnancy test” thing came from reddit, where a man posted a meme of him testing out a pregnancy test and getting a positive result. All the people in the comments informed him that a positive test could mean cancer and lo and behold, it was cancer and the comments possibly saved his life
If the test is positive it can mean that you have testicular cancer or some other deseases, but if the test is negative that doesn‘t that you don‘t habe something like testicular cancer. So if everything is allright then the test shouldn‘t be positive.
Having a negative pregnancy test does not mean you don’t have testicular cancer. If you have testicular cancer the tumor COULD create the same protein that would show up in a pregnancy test, but it’s not guaranteed. Basically, just don’t use pregnancy tests to self diagnose your testicular cancer.
I think the math is also a bit different What you said, a 10% markup on $10 would be $11. I think in this video he would consider that a 110% markup considering he said 300% was 3x the price
You misunderstood a bit. Explain with an example: A bottle of water costs 3 cents to produce and sells for $3. At this point, it is 100 times higher than the production price, i.e. 1000%. If I'm not mistaken. If im wrong about production/sell of water, well it's doesn't matter beacuse it's only example to reperesent how it look
As someone who assistant managed a grocery store, the pre-cut fruit is also usually the fruit that is about to go bad/we couldn't sell. Like, have some watermelons with soft spots that normall sell for $3 for the whole mellon? Cut the brown bits off, dice it up and toss it in 5 different containers for $5 a pop. You just took a loss and turned it into a profit.
So. I worked for a grocery store for 3 years. In management for half that time. This must be euro centric or something cause as someone that has seen the bills and what it costs to make, vs what we buy it for vs what we sell it for this is crazy wrong. Bottled water is always going to be the highest markup. Then milk and eggs usually. But stuff like sauces, typically a store is making A little over breaking even for most of those. Organic fluctuates a lot so no comment on that one, but just because it’s in the tire doesn’t mean the profit is always really high in it, most the time it really isn’t and stores rely on other means to make Up that difference. For example the coin counter is a huge profit for grocery stores, as well as lottery. But I can tell you now only the busiest of stores are making a profit for baked goods, they’re usually sold at a loss to draw people in to buy more.
Not all of them indicate profit. Fruit for instance, especially prepared fruit, has a short shelf life so that price has to reflect that. Bakeries are the same. In the end mark up does not equal profit. In fact most grocery stores have slim profit margins of just 5% or less. Kroger for instance had $137 Billion in sales in 2022 but a net income of $1.655 Billion.
As a Scandinavian, I can’t imagine having to go to the store to buy bottled water that tastes like shit. A river by my house (which is where my area gets water from) had a road collapse on top of it, so it was contaminated for a few weeks. We had to walk to a spot where they sold water bottles or we had to decontaminste it ourselves. It was such a hassle that some people just started drinking from their tap either way. Can’t imagine having to drive to the grocery store to buy bottled water.
Same here as a fellow Scandinavian. When me and family went on vacation to Greece we had to walk to the store to buy bottled water all the time. I hugged my tap when I came back home
My town has poor filtration of agricultural chemicals and degraded pipes. You can smell the chlorine from the faucet. They even decided to put fluoride in it last year. It doesn't matter much because nobody drinks it anyway. I have to give my pets bottled water to keep them from throwing up. A friend's cat stopped having bladder infections when he started giving her bottled water.
They normally buy in bulk from food manufacturers factories which is why they can price higher since they only sell cheeper if you buy in bulk for example its better to buy straight from the manufacturer for non perishable goods like paper towels and toilet paper since you have so many so you almost never have to buy again and you get them from cheeper then a store if you were to buy them individually for example i searched up toilet paper bulk and i can buy on a manufacture website for non brand names i can buy 96 two ply rolls for 49.50$ (american USA dollars) vrs in store it would be 32.99 for a case of 48 so multiply by 2 for 96 which would be 65 dollars around instead of the manufacturer of 49.50 so it may be better just to buy like 6 (96 rolls) from the manufacturer pay a one time shipping fee vrs going to the store and spending a extra 15$ each time.

Yeah they have a couple locations in big cities (New York, London, etc). If you don’t live in a major city you’re probably not going to see any in your area
When a woman gets pregnant beta hCG levels rise; the same hormone rises in men when they have testicular cancer and it's actually a cancer marker herself, meaning in the laboratories they measure this exact hormone to detect testicular cancer, so we can say the pregnancy test is fairly accurate in men
Pregnancy tests test for a hormone called bhCG. This rises throughout pregnancy (as it in produced by the placenta) . In some cases tumours (usually testicular or ovarian but sometimes other tumours) can procedure hCG which would give a false positive reading on a pregnancy test.
You just explained how people only buy batteries when they REALLY need them, so how come they're amongst the things that make supermarkets the most money??

Those kinds of pregnancy tests work by detecting hCG. This hormone normally only gets made in pregnant females around 5 weeks of pregnancy after implantation, corpus leuteum rescue, and early development. This should never show positive for a man unless something is faulty with the test or something is really wrong with your body. Men normally don’t make any hCG but your body can convert LH to hCG in concentrations that should be too low for the test. tldr: No this test shouldn’t show positive for men because they don’t make the hormone it detects.
If a man gets a positive on a pregnancy test it means they mostly likely have testicular cancer, there was another thing I think it could mean, but that’s the big one
