Yes. Very emotional day understandably. The view of the Big K from Abol Bridge is stunning as is the one near the marsh. So excited you are doing part of the knife's edge. It might be fun, at some point, to have an afterparty live with all of your tramily to share stories, most cherished moments, trail horrors, most embarrassing moments etc with all of us. We all love YOU, but we've also developed a remote connection with your tramily members and I find myself wondering what everyone's plans are moving forward and when/if you will all be able to do more adventures together. I think many of your followers are going to feel a little lost when your journey ends. I know I will.

The worst 5 and a 1/2 miles of my thru- hike were coming down Katahdin! The hike was finished at the summit, and I just wanted to get those miles, that didn't count, over with! I would have e taken a lift down if they had one! LOL!
Hey Kelly! Congrats on finishing the Wilderness! This whole day was like a dream. That carpet of autumn color outside of the shelter you stayed at was unbelievably beautiful. Actually, that whole shelter setting was unreal. Maine didn’t hold back at all today, she just flexed her muscles and showed you all of her majesty! Thanks for walking us through the registration and permit process. They don’t make it easy! I know you said it was going to be hard leaving the trail, and I am sure the feelings were difficult to process. But in my mind you never really leave a trail and she doesn’t ever leave you. “Two souls in communion, both body and mind.” I don’t know how you made it through this day without crying your eyes out. I had to open up the box of tissues I bought for your final video! I am so honored to have gotten to witness this and I hope it’s ok to say but I am so damn proud of you and all of the tramily. This one is special! October 13th was my 52nd birthday. While you were making this video, I was bicycling the Virginia Creeper Trail. I was motivated to travel from PA to Virginia because of your video where you biked a section of the Creeper Trail. It was a great experience for me and I owe that to you! Thank you Kelly!
Hey, "Trail Days" includes the Va Creeper Trail, right? you can hold your own with all those guys who've done the AT, Good stuff. Another good bike trail down 81 is the New River Trail.

I saw a gal, your doppelgänger, on Ormond Beach Florida, a couple of days ago. I didn’t see the nose ring, so I figured it wasn’t you. I mean, what’s the odds anyway? I couldn’t tell if she had dregs or not either. You’ve done such a great job, so natural and engaging. I’m convinced that you could be a star anywhere you go…even TV!
Yes I did! When I talked about being done I was more referring to this chapter of the hike being over and being done hiking with my tramily and the biggest portion of the trail. It’s kinda like I had 2 big endings and beginnings on this thru hike lol we’ll actually three if you count when I left/came back from surgery lol
I remember how strange it felt to come out of the Hundred Mile Wilderness onto the Golden Road, a long, open, paved road. I ate way more junk food at the store there, and spent the night in the honor system shelters across from the store. The next day, I met my son, who drove up to meet me and climb Katahdin with me. Thanks for the insight into another day of your journey. The regulations seem to become more restrictive every year, but the park gets a lot of visitors during the hiking season.
