In case you haven't found out yet, on low when the light blinks you can turn it off and that will put it in the second level of the menu. The first menu level has Low, Mid, and High, the second tier has Low, Mid, High, Strobe, and SOS. It's just a way to configure the light as some people don't like strobe or SOS. Makes it even more impressive for the price!
Thanks for posting this excellent review! I have several Convoy lights (including these S2+ units), and absolutely love them. They're superbly made lights, for the money, and they come in a wide range of tints, and even body colors (Black, Blue, Green, Red). My personal favorite is XM-L2 T6 4C - a beautiful neutral tint. In case you were curious - that blinking of the light (while in low mode, after about 15 seconds) is the way for you to change the interface, between 3 (low, medium, high), and 5 modes (low, medium, high, strobe, s.o.s.). For me, strobe and s.o.s. modes are not really necessary, in those particular lights, so i programmed them to work in 3-mode configuration. To do this, put the light in low mode. As soon as it blinks, shut the light off. If you were in five mode, you'll now be in three. To switch back to whatever the mode was (3, or 4), follow the same procedure. The mode memory brings the light back to whatever mode (low, medium, or high) setting you had on the light, as long as the light has been on, for 3 seconds, or longer. Otherwise, it just cycles up to the next mode, when turned on (or with a half press of the button, while on), next. It's equally important to get a high quality, safe, smart charger, to charge those high quality 18650 batteries. A not-so-great charger, could not terminate the charge properly, and overcharge the battery, which could lead to fire. XTAR and Nitecore make excellent quality chargers, in all price ranges. If anybody has a question about which would be the best bet, for your needs, please feel free to holler.
I'm relatively new to the EDC culture and boy am I getting addicted. Thank goodness there are great alternatives out there because the mainstream brands are expensive.. But I wouldn't mind spending for more pocket knives though. 😁 Keep it up with the great content.. have a good one.
You can count the driver chips to know the output, the 6x7135 and 8x7138 have chips on the back because there is no space otherwise. 4 on each side. 350ma each chip.
I get excited with the WILDERRRNESSS PART. Hey charles. got my L6, C8+ , R90c and now i want that L2. LOL. i save money by putting it under our bed. Hope my wife wont see this. Lol
Paul George I got a red one and the stainless button is sweet. I'm not a fan of the stock on-time memory though, so I swapped the firmware with guppydrv which has off-time and it's a perfect light.
Yes i agree with you about the driver, i really wish simon would start putting his new driver in all his lights. Anyway i have plans to pick up a Qlite driver with the guppydrv firmware. Think i might add a few extra 7135 chips though. I also ordered a few TIR optics for it, taking forever to get here though.
Charles BridgTec I ordered the Qlite driver from MTN Electronics with the guppydrv loaded on it. Reflashing MCU's is still a bit too complicated for me.

Meant to say, between three, and five mode configuration, not three and four lol.
david57strat Thanks for the information and insight! No manual came with them. Thanks for watching!
My pleasure. I see, you have a number other flashlight reviews, posted. Will definitely check them out!
david57strat Plus many more to come. Thanks again.
Charles BridgTec Will look forward to viewing them!

Maybe I missed it, but does it remember the last level used? Or do you have to go through all of
the modes for the desired brightness level?
It has memory mode. Thanks for watching!

Does convoy s2+ has a low voltage warning? Because mine blinks at low mode and each blinks has like 2 to 3 seconds gap is it the low voltage warning?
Some of these older models did not have that feature. Thanks for watching!
@@CharlesBridgTec thank you so much
It looks Banggood sent you a 7135x8 in 6500k and a 7135x6 in 5000k. I'm not sure why they did that.
JasonWW2000 I requested more EDC lights for review. Thanks for watching!

how to charge this light
I bought the blue one about 2 months ago and its been my go to light for almost every thing. Its one of the best on the market for the price.
Paul George I agree. Thanks for watching!

JasonWW2000 I would be interested in modding the 5k version due to easy access to driver circuits.

Convoy s2+ or astrolux s1? Im torn between the 2
Which ever is cheaper for they both perform pretty much the same. Thanks for watching!
Which is better natural white or yellow light?
I am not a fan of yellow or 4700k or below. 5k to 6k is what I like. Thank for watching!
@@CharlesBridgTec all your videos is great review...👍
They are as low as $9.50 now. Great light.
Thanks for watching!
This or the astrolux s1?
They are both good. Which ever you can fond cheaper for performance is almost identical. Thanks for watching!
does it have memory mode?
I believe if my memory serves me right it does. Thanks for watching!
Is this water proof,?
Yes. Thanks for watching!
