Arman didn’t even beat Charles convincingly. Alex said the same thing thinking the second match will go as the first. Different day different match so Arman can get knocked out in the first round or choked out in the second. He always talks about the fact that it was his debut 5 years ago. Well Islam has evolved also into a better fighter
The thing is, short notice was disadvantage for Makhachev as well because they weren't preparing for a wrestler like Arman, while Arman wasn't preparing for Makhachev too, Makhachev was more known ufc fighter while Arman was unknown as a fighter at that point, being unknown is an advantage, Makhachev didn't know Arman had good wrestling while Arman knew Makhachev better. Now Makhachev can prepare and study Arman's style as well, Arman acting like that was disadvange for him only makes no sense. Short notice Jalin Turner KOed Bobby Green, short notice Nate finished Conor, short notice Hernandez KOed Dariush, there are many examples being short notice is also being disadvantage for both fighters.

Look at Volk vs Islam 1 vs 2. Razor close decision that could've gone either way, and then a non competitive first round ko in the 2nd. What was the difference between those fights? One was coming off the couch and one was already in a training camp.
Knocked out in 1st or choked out in second? When Islam couldn't even do that the 1st time when Arman was VERY young for the sport and making his debut against a incredibly tough opponent while coming off the couch. @PrimeTonysElbows , 1st Volk fight was almost like with a rehydration clause disadvantage for Makhachev, similar to Davis vs Ryan Garcia fight. Because every other place gives 36 hours rehydration time, only Australia Perth was 24 hours and Volk's coach said 24 hours was their advantage vs Makhachev because Volk can cut weight to 145 lbs, Makhachev can't, so Volk had more advantage at 155 lbs with 24 hours rehydration, when it was always 36 hours, in rematch Volk got KOed 1st round, preparation time is not an excuse because of 1st round finish, cardio wasn't needed for the rematch.

There's no excuse to call out a FW, then hold him on the ground for nearly 8 minutes with 0 strike and 0 sub attempts the entire time

The BMF belt should move to catch-weight, so as to avoid it being held by a dominant division champ. After Holloway has one defence at the weight of his choosing, it should move permanently to a catch-weight that can move up and down according to the match-up.

Before Max was just Volk victim? You must be casual and recently started watching. I love Volk, I thought max won the first two fights they had.
You can’t say max is a volk victim. First 2 fights were fairly close and plus max is levels above everyone else and styles make fights so just because volk beat max doesn’t mean ilia beats him too.. doesn’t work that way and we’ve seen it many times.
As much as I like DC, but he has to understand that Dagistani fighters don't care of the stardom or big name recognition. Khabib fought Conor for this rivalry and to defend against the best. Not for getting the huge star power. It'll come with it. And DC should know that Islam has more fans than any other fighters in the UFC except for Conor now.
They care about legacy though. Khabib was a dominant championship level lightweight for years before he fought Connor but even some casual UFC fans were unfamiliar with him. Same with Islam before Charles and Volk.

Rewatched Arman vs Islam two days ago and truthfully, Arman gave Islam a very tough fight, skill for skill, until Arman started to slow down especially in the grappling positions and on his back

Huge Islam fan but Arman was right to want a full camp and be 100%. He is fighting a soon to be dominant champ and no1 p4p guy on ufc. Only makes sense to turn it down for now. But when they do meet Islam wins but will be a very interesting and exciting fight.

Definitely feel like he made the right decision turning down the fight. After all Islam is the pound for pound champ. That being said let’s not forget Charles had a year and a half to learn and grow from his loss with Islam. Arman faced a way tougher and improved version of Charles and beat him. Don’t be fooled Islam vs Arman is going to be one hell of a fight and I can’t wait to see my boy Arman become the new champ.
Arman did what was right for him. If there is anyone you don’t go in to fight with a full camp then Islam is definitely it. Maybe he will regret it but he would regret it even more if he got beat again on short notice
