Kudos for the video content! Excuse me for chiming in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you heard the talk about - Tarbbatigan Vintage Sales Tip (just google it)? It is a good one of a kind guide for finding government and police auctions for cars trucks and SUVs minus the normal expense. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my friend Sam after a lifetime of fighting got astronomical results with it.
Got a '13 Focus SE, bought in '18 with 53K miles. Had some clutch Shudder, dealer replaced clutch pak (new seals) and had TCM re-flashed once (ALL FREE). The car now has 83K miles, runs AND shifts with ZERO issues. Main problem with early Mk3s was leaking seals in transmission (FIXED in '16 and later cars). The BIGGEST "problem" was uneducated drivers of these cars, not knowing these are MANUAL transmissions SHIFTED bt computer. If you "creep" in heavy traffic or use the transmission as "hill holder", they WILL become problematic , just like a MANUAL transmission's clutch if abused in this manner! This MORON in this video does not KNOW "squat" about these vehicles!
I had a Focus for a company car and the transmission dies on my way home from the dealership on the day it was purchased. Then it failed 2 more times, once when I was doing 60 on 495 and it just shut off. POS I refused to drive it, and they got me a new car. It had less than 10k on it.
Its always a pleasure joining Chris at the auction lot, thanks so much for the update, am learning very fast with every new upload, @ ECC, never a dull moments.
2:41-2:42 the extra slot is for if it was equipped with the 6.7L Ford Powerstroke V8 Turbo Diesel that second hole would be for the DEF Tank Filler Neck
Excellent video! I work for a city gov't and we have all kinds of Fords. Some of our vehicles are effectively "totaled" by extreme neglect from the people they are assigned to. Fords are generally terrible vehicles, those auction prices are surprisingly high, but the Econolines are durable, and those 4x4 RAMs I would have bought both and made one good one out of them!
On the F250, the large gas fill door is for when the diesel engine is equipped instead of a gas engine. Diesel needs DEF. So the DEF fill port is next to the diesel fill port in that door.
In 2014 the newer body style Ford Transit Connect was introduced to the US and the long wheel base option became available. Besides the work van spec, they had a "wagon" spec that could be had with 3 rows and seating for 7. Its a great simple van without all the frills of other mini vans. We use one to haul 2 kids around and treat it like a truck. Ours even came with a 2in receiver. They have 6 speed automatics, not sure what they had in 2013. Ours currently is closing in on 90k miles with no issues. Bought it in 2018 for 13k with 60k.
The tag on the wheel is a lock out tag out so employees don't operate defective equipment and hurt themselves, others or create more mechanical damage.
Ford Transit Van.I know one guy who did small camper (or mobil home i dont know how to say it right) on that car.He made some stuff in side for new role of his car like sun electric panel ,some furniture and LED,s light inside.Guy is pensioner and traveling in all europe.
They got 10 yr and 1 hundred thousand mile warranty on the trains. I have one that I have had not one problem with not one. And it got almost 60 thousand on it now. I drove one of those transit for work talk about a very cheaply made vehicle I hated it. Went from a full size ford van to that I couldn’t wait until we got something different.
I stay away from GSA auctions because people are paying retail prices for lower-trim models I have been going with my father since the 1970s and remember we were at one auction folks were bidding more on stuff than it cost new. Back then Ford Fairmonts and Granadas were the big moneymakers.
It seems Delaware state auctions are like Maryland state auctions; uninformed bidders are driving prices up. You can definitely get better, nicer and cheaper at a dealer for similar pricing.
I totally agree with ya on that bus. The clutch pedal on that Ford truck was totally beat but the brake pedal looked hardly used. That's a whole lot of shifting!
Another great video man. Im local wr should meet up sometime and compare collections! I have a 2011 fiesta with I believe the same transmission with 200k!
I'm looking at a 2014 caprice cop car, clean car, blue paint all vinyl interior with 90k mile V6 no issues asking price is 5,000$ obo. Ur thoughts? Thanks if you ever see this love ur channel
good to see mr t .17 grand 4 the snow plow truck to much.maybe not same thing new would 50 tho . road hard put away wet the dodge the towed in that is extra crispy floor on the ford the 87 ford pick up i love the 4 speed you hardly see manual transmission are fun to drive thank 4 your time
Thanks man for checking out the auction vid. I appreciate your comment too and we're thinking pretty much the same about the sale prices on those cars.
I usually have folks interested in buying whatever I get from the auction right after I post the video. It might take a week or two after getting the car home that it's off to its new owner.
The gas door on that Ford pickup is so big because if it had the optional powerstroke diesel the diesel exhaust fluid fill would be right beside the fuel fill
Not all focus Autos were bad it was one transmission they used in 2011 , there were different Auto variants they used in the cars it was the Tiptronic Auto that was crap however they had a non tiptronic Auto that was okay
those Dodge Grand Caravans suck people in with all the features and seeming bang for the buck, but fixing things that routinely break, like the door lock actuators, is a lot of work... ask me how I know LOL
I had a co-worker who used to be a tech at a Ford dealership and he told me that they extended the warranty on those Powershift transmissions to 100k miles, so buying one might not be a bad idea if it’s the right price and not too old.
Hey don’t be talking all that trash about the powershift. I have a 2012 Focus with the powershift and 120k miles. This car has its original dual clutch that isn’t slipping, original tcm, original shift solenoids, and has never been reprogrammed by the dealer. I will tell you right now that not all of these are crap. You have just had a bad experience. And these are all 2012’s. The front end👌🏻 don’t doubt the transmissions at all, I’ve had a great experience with this car while all these people on UA-cam are like stay away. My car is good for at least 300k. You should check some high mileage ones out at Copart. I saw one a while back with 350k👀
I know man these people have no idea how to use a DCT, they just go HURR HURR WHERES MUH SLUSH BOX and they ruin the trans by giving it terrible learning habits other constant reflashes, who KNOWS what kills these things early but I strongly believe its these HATER customers!!!!
If people actually had brains when they bought cars then Auto manufacturers would not get away with the crap they make as a mechanic myself people always make up their own minds their non-mechanical i know all attitude in buying cars and thats the mistake they make !! You can not teach stupid
Those Focus’ are junk especially that one with 19k you’d figure it would be in so much better shape! My 13 Camry has 122k and it looks and drives like new. Clearly there’s a big difference in quality between Ford and Toyota lol
Great video content! Apologies for the intrusion, I am interested in your opinion. Have you heard about - Tarbbatigan Vintage Sales Tip (just google it)? Ive heard some decent things about it and my BF at last got excellent success with it.
I work for a state government. Let me tell you something, I would never buy these things. Sometimes it takes two years to hit the mileage for the oil change and then they'll do it. They auction them off when its too expensive to fix. The vehicles really get abused and maintenance is neglected. They're pretty much worth scrap weight.

You would think ford would do something about their gearboxes but never have and never will. I will never buy a ford they are garbage proof is in the pudding.
8:08 I laughed when the water just poured out 😂
The first truck didn't come with dual gas tanks. It was for a diesel and the second "tank" was for DEF fluid.
Yeah,do not put diesel in that tank
You are a wise man. I couldn’t believe how much some of those vehicles went for. It’s definitely a gambling game .

The focus is an excellent car as long as you get the manual transmission
Got one 160k miles zero problems so far 40mpg 2016 model
2017 with a manual here, 42k miles
@steve pitman turbocharge it
It depends if you got the 4 speed tiptronic focus of 2011 its garbage not all focus Autos were crap

Ohhh, thanks for the info on that second hole behind the gas filler door. Makes total sense now.
I love your auction videos. I don’t blame you for passing, these prices are nuts. 👊☮️
Thanks my friend and thanks for watching too.
i love these auction vids. thanks for taking us along. and I totally agree that the Ford Focus is junk with the dual clutch trans.
Love that ford 450 v10 shuttle bus, drove that on campus during my university days. It has great torque but not a speed demon.
Excellent video! I work for a city gov't and we have all kinds of Fords. Some of our vehicles are effectively "totaled" by extreme neglect from the people they are assigned to. Great video. Prices are crazy! The best thing I saw was the Ford with the plow. Everything else just tooooooo much money.

I bought my 98 Dodge Ram 1500 2x4 with a 5 speed running and driving for 300 bucks. It’s been an amazing truck
Now that's a great buy!
Always very interesting. Thanks ✔
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for watching too!
In the white f250 with the plow the second hole for gas would be for DEF if it had a Diesel engine but you can’t use it because it’s a gas engine
That tractor- "Water in the oil."
How bad can it be?
(Water GUSHES OUT of dipstick)
....Oh.
Dude, I had this stupid, crazy grimace when I saw that water spirting out of the dip stick. Like, dang!
@@hullinger LOL. Minor issue.
It'll buff out I'm sure.
Great video as usual Chris
Thanks 👍 Kevin and glad you like it. Thanks for watching too!

Thanks Friend.
Now I will look for New York's surplus sale... wonder where..
Thanks. I like to see how these go but never had the time.
Glad you like them and thanks for watching!
Just a broken brake line on the 2nd dodge truck , and a bad fuel pump on the 1st dodge
What an awesome idea...turning the short bus into a camper!...
We have some of them 1st gen transits at my work. The one thing I don't like about them is the fact you can't get a 6' latter in the back.
Oh wow. I didn't realize those vans were so short. Totally no good for what I want to do with it. Thanks for sharing and thanks for watching too.
Very interesting watch! Most Focuses here in the UK are manual but yes the Powershift transmissions are dreadful.
Yes they are and thanks for that and for watching too!
It seems Delaware state auctions are like Maryland state auctions; uninformed bidders are driving prices up. You can definitely get better, nicer and cheaper at a dealer for similar pricing.
Damn I kinda wanted them 2gens just for parts for my 2gen
That bus for 5k was the best I saw btw clutch pedal on that green f150 must be over 100k almost 200k
I totally agree with ya on that bus. The clutch pedal on that Ford truck was totally beat but the brake pedal looked hardly used. That's a whole lot of shifting!

So every single vehicle in these auctions was previously used by state government in some way?
Never clicked so fast

Knowledge is power. Especially at an auction
When you buy theses cars how long does it usually take you to flip them?
I usually have folks interested in buying whatever I get from the auction right after I post the video. It might take a week or two after getting the car home that it's off to its new owner.
That F150 would be the perfect candidate to swap the body onto an LTD Crown Vic chassis
*Every time a ford focus is on camera*
"These cars are god awful!"
Thanks 😊
Where is this located
God bless you im from morocco
Thanks my friend for watching and stay safe!
That's the reason why I'm not a auction kind of person I saw a 89 ford f-150 long box more rust then that green truck sold for 850$
Crazy prices at some of these auctions, especially for the risk of not being able to drive them first.
The gas door on that Ford pickup is so big because if it had the optional powerstroke diesel the diesel exhaust fluid fill would be right beside the fuel fill
Thanks my friend for sharing that info about that second spot behind the fuel filler door. Appreciate that and I appreciate you following along too!
No problem Chris, great content as always I enjoy your videos👍
Why do they get rid of their vehicles so early I wonder?
Use to have a automatic focus I think I seen the one I use to own in the vid lol!
Haha, thanks man for watching!
Not all focus Autos were bad it was one transmission they used in 2011 , there were different Auto variants they used in the cars it was the Tiptronic Auto that was crap however they had a non tiptronic Auto that was okay
make a camper with the Transit?
What’s the name of the auction you go to I’m interested. I live in Delaware as well
Delaware.gov.
Cool stuff
Thanks man and thanks for watching too.
I hate the focuses at the beginning of the video cause of the power windows in the front and manual windows in the back. Why would anyone do that?
I feel ya!
those Dodge Grand Caravans suck people in with all the features and seeming bang for the buck, but fixing things that routinely break, like the door lock actuators, is a lot of work... ask me how I know LOL
Haha, thanks Gary. I remember you blasting these van's once before.
I bet that old ford will run if you put gas in it. Prob needs both tanks replaced They tend to leak at some point.
I had a co-worker who used to be a tech at a Ford dealership and he told me that they extended the warranty on those Powershift transmissions to 100k miles, so buying one might not be a bad idea if it’s the right price and not too old.
Oh, great info and thanks for sharing that. An extended transmission warranty just might make it worth while.
A 2011 Prius that does not run goes for $5000. I wish I could get that much on trade, on cars that run!
I hear ya. Man the prices right now are just stupid crazy high. Makes no sense.
Ya know that crane that always chases the mexican toads but cant?
That green truck has 247k miles. Haha
Your probably right on that f-150 those 300's are pretty reliable and 47k is nothing
got one .
Wow prices are insane
Crazy prices at this auction.
Why not buy one really cheap and throw away engine and transmission and replace with GM new 350 and GM transmission?
The more you know...lol...be careful you don't get copyrighted for that
Too bad that 80s Ford truck has no floors left, you could get a 500$ Maaco paint job, throw a glasspack on it, and call it a day.
That's exactly what I was thinking of doing with that Ford truck. A quick paint job and she'd be pretty again.
I see a lot of Fords with bad transmissions!
It's constant at this auction to see those Ford Focus's. The state must be dumping them as quickly as possible.
u dont go far with extra crispy
They ain't make ford like they used to ,Blame Takata ,glad I switched to Toyota
