Hi SpencerRC, Just come across your video great job I like the way you used the foam to make up the Fuselage I have been tempted to try your method, also the glue and paper covering I'm going to try. Hope to see more of your videos. Thanks for sharing
Hi, what are the dimensions for the horizontal and vertical Stabilizer. Also can you give me the dimensions of the wing.I understand the measurements for the fuselage is from the firewall to the leading edge of the wing is about 5 inches, the wing is 15 inches thick, but I didn't catch the wingspan in inches. Can you give me those as well? Thanks,Mike
sir how r you? sir i am new ..sir i want know which battery & esc perfect for 70 mm 12 blade 2839 kv motor ? and any problem if me use both two 5000 mpr lipo babattery for 70 mm edf 2839 motor..
Hi spencerRC am really impressed with your work and looking forward to the second part.but the link you gave does not work, can you give any alternative? thanks.
Sorry the link does not work, looks like the site is down. If you google "rc plane dimensions" then look at the images the first few are good examples.
I've never built an RC plane, but have make other projects out of foam. For added strength and stiffness, I've glued (painted on) window screen material. Once the 'adhesive' cures the screen to the foam - it us MUCH stronger. Have any of you experienced RC Plane builders used window screen for added strength ?
honestly I never measured it. I just put some glue in a bowl and then added water a little at a time till it looked good. experiment on a little scratch pice first and see how it works.
I haven't got around to making the video yet do to work and school. I took the maiden flight but had the aileron servo get stuck and flipped on me. Im moving this week but hope to get it ready to go thins summer!
There are battery monitors you can get that will alarm (beep) you when the voltage gets to low. thats the cheap easy option. on all my newer builds i have flight controllers with telemetry setup so i can see my battery voltage on my radio. you can check out some of my newer drone videos if your interested in that.
This is awesome build following your steps
Thanks from Atlantic coast Canada
So cool that you took on making your own plane. Success is experimenting and changing what thought to be perfect. Thanks for sharing.
good build
You can get those fiberglass driveway markers at home Depot or even Walmart I think
Wow it's cool i enjoyed it keep up the good work
you can use a tiny amount of dish soap in the glue to break the surface tension of the water so the paper can soak easy. nice build.

Well done mate nice clean design and execution.next time go get some wall paper paste(the gel kind) youll like over the paper for strength.
Good job on the video and the plane.
Where did you get the plans from
good job

Is this an acoustic foam ?

What grit(s) of sandpaper did you end up using.
Those lines aren't for easy breaking they are for when covering with wood they line up either 16 inches or 24 inches on center for hanging drywall

Kind of similar - it's common to use clear or coloured tape to make foam stronger
Plz.. Which airfoil is best for slow flyer?
Dihedral is easy to fly
What type of foam do I use? EPS? Expanded Polystyrene?
Not exactly sure what its called. It was at the Home Depot. The stiff foam used for insulation.
When will the next video be released?
Would you be willing to make one in kit form and would pay you let me know
What was your ratio of water to glue for the paper covering?
honestly I never measured it. I just put some glue in a bowl and then added water a little at a time till it looked good. experiment on a little scratch pice first and see how it works.
On wrap paper or lightest krafr brown stuff i use 50%50% water/pva glue
use carbon fiber arrows from Walmart they go on sale at the end of hunting season.
Thats a really good idea! You would probably have to use two though. its nice to have a single one that goes the whole length.
Where is the rest of the story? I'd like to see the finished product.

Great. It will be fun to see it fly.
FYI after a long time I did come out with an update video ua-cam.com/video/gSkBXpyQWuc/v-deo.html
How do you know when to recharge your battery pack?
I know these batteries sometimes won't charge if you run them down too far.

I will buy this from you
Update video? .
Here it is ua-cam.com/video/gSkBXpyQWuc/v-deo.html
can you tell me what motor size and batt. bla bla bla just more thank you
This would be a great choice for the wing also. And pretty cheap. www.lowes.com/pd/Hillman-48-in-x-0-375-in-Reflective-Rod/3027086
It's not rc
???
