In this video I will cover how to install and configure a Print Server in Ubuntu Linux using CUPS Common Unix Printing Service. We also want to be able to share this printer over the network with Windows clients, so i will show you how to setup Samba. Finally, we will be accessing the printer and installing the drivers from Windows 10.

thanks for this video, I can now connect my Fedora desktop to a Mint 20.04 server, both running on Samba, took a lot of time, but this video helped explain what I needed. Now I can keep the printers in the office and not in the livingroom!

Always have major issues with the wireless printer we have now so I've been looking for ways to make a print server. This toutorial is exactly what I needed, will be trying out soon.
slight update, having several issues but as I check everything so far it all seems to just be down to me being a noob.
I can't come through the samba settings. I seem to be unable to write in the terminal at that point...
Edit: Apparently this step wasn't that important, because I still managed to share the printer with my other devices (Android and Windows), the problem was with the settings of my Windows PC. I still have no idea why I can't change the settings of the program in the terminal.

please note: in the samba settings, change WORKGROUP to your domain name if you want it to be discoverable in your domain.

why i get forbidden page when i add printer ?
for me i don't need samba just install cups on my linux mint machine, edit the conf as mention and conf the ip baam printing wirelessly with my old sumsung ml 1660 (even test print through xiaomi redmi note 4)

Follow the installation from the beginning... You probably missed something
Add user to lpadmin 'sudo usermod -a -G lpadmin username'
(Extremely late reply, but here's hoping someone could find this comment useful) Follow the instructions in this video carefully. After doing exactly as in this video, open terminal and type 'sudo usermod -a -G lpadmin yourusername' restart cups by giving 'sudo systemctl restart cups' and viola, you are no longer forbidden :D
After I successfully add the printer, I'm not able to print a test page. Any help?
then you didn't add the printer "successfully" try reinstall again... make sure you have correct ip address and printer "software" from manufacturer
