She used to bite and scratch me every single day but now she only does that when I try to groom her. We're going to adopt another cat that visits our home every day and he's the most obedient cat I've ever seen. He's almost a dog LoL.

Same! Almost all of the cats I've had have been like this. One of my current girls LOVES to cuddle and wants it 24/7 (no sense of personal space either 🤣). And she runs to the door when I come home. She's so affectionate and I love her!

I've had dogs, cats, a turtle, a cow, and a goldfish.
I loved them all, and each one had it's own unique personality.
But my favorite pet, the one I'm grateful that I had the opportunity to share my life with - was a parrot. She was by far the most intelligent, comical, and sensitive of all the pets I've owned.

Cosmic Rogue, I can so relate. My parrot has moods. She plays. She pouts. She throws incredibly loud hissy fits. I didn't "want" her---a friend died and Missy--the parrot, not my friend--was going to be destroyed. But I couldn't bear that such an intelligent animal was going to end up God knows where--an awful home? In an incinerator? So I took her on. Now, we no longer have a usable living room, and everything's constantly a mess, but she's my gal. And sometimes, she's the only thing in the house that's happy to see me! Can't replace that for anything.

I have both a cat and a dog so people can't say "You obviously never had a dog before then". I have BOTH. I actually prefer cats over dogs. When I was a small girl I actually was more of a "dog" person yet I never had either until I was an adult. Reason why I prefer cats? Cats are very independent, they don't need to be trained to poop in one spot because it's in their instincts, they don't have a horrid odor to them and when they do it's because they poop, which can be easily cleaned up. People say they are mean but honestly they are just as caring as dogs, or at least my cat is. She literally loves sleeping at the end of my bed, follows me around everywhere I go, she licks me as a way of showing me she loves me, she licks me to wake me up as well lol. She greets me at the door when I get home and yes they do have emotions, science says cats actually have more similar emotions to humans than dogs do.
Why do I prefer cats over dogs? Dogs are for people who have the time to take them out for walks, to train them to go potty, if not trained they poop and pee where they please and it's a horrid mess to clean up afterwards, they have a horrid dog odor no matter how many times you bathe them, they do love you just as equally as cats, but people say "Dogs are man's best friend". Let's be real because that isn't always the case, your best friend can be a dog, a cat, a fish, a parrot. It all depends on preference but I prefer cats. Just because someone owns a dog does not make them obnoxious and someone who owns a cat does not make them lazy or fat.

Ni Hao Bathe my dog everyday and they have a horrid dog scent no matter what. It's their natural musk but I am not a fan of it.

DaisyyMichelle I'd probably say your problem is that you bathe your dog every day. That damages your dogs skin and makes it dry, which makes your dogs skin produce more oils and such to moisturize. That is probably what makes your dog smell musky. I'd say to bathe your dog max once every other week (with shampoo) probably even less than that. And if you feel that your dog needs to get washed more than that, you should only bathe it in water without shampoo. Hope this helps.

jazzieghost I have a cat who is half Ragdoll, half Siamese and she follows me everywhere. Yes, Ragdoll cats are more prone to following their owners around but my cat’s very sweet. Despite the fact that she’s part Siamese, she’s not very aggressive like some people think the breed is. As long as you leave her alone or are able to recognize signs of her getting annoyed, she doesn’t scratch. She’s a very sweet cat. I also have a dog who’s half Fox Terrier, half Chihuahua. She barks a lot like her mother did but she’s very sweet and energetic. I love both cats and dogs and I don’t think I’d feel completely whole without one of each^^

They seem really independent so they're not as much work as dogs are. But I have seen cats that LOVE their owners, and I hope to get one. The only thing that's kind of a turn off is the litterbox, but I'm sure I'll get used to it.

I just happen to be in the unusual position of loving both dogs and cats, as I've owned both before. Although there are distinct differences between the two animals, both have the ability to love passionately and care deeply for their owners. The puppy I have now is the sweetest, most well behaved dog anyone could hope to own, and I had a cat (who sadly passed away last year) who got quite upset if she didn't get enough attention. She never bit or scratched us once for the 5 years we had her.
From that post all I got was that you currently have an awesome dog and used to have a jealous cat who was gracious enough to not bite or scratch you for no good reason. (Cats 99% of the time are shitty animals who don't care about you until you are feeding them or petting them and even then ONLY for as long as they want you around, then they run off and hide from you)

I used to have a cat when I was like 9 or something and I loved her so much but then she grew into a nightmare. She started to PEE everywhere, and even on her bed and my mini princess sofa that turned into a sleeping bag (lol princess sofa). She clawed me and bit me for like no reason. She would always beg for food.... Idk why she acted like that I gave her so much of my attention and love....
But now I have a puppy and he is so sweet and hyper (hyper at times) I love him soooooo much. He goes crazy when someone comes home if he's in the cage he'll start barking because he wants to run out and greet them. He will sniff their pants and run all around them and wag his tail it's so cute. He is so much fun I'm so happy to have him. DOGS FTW!!!
Cat's pee outside their litter box either because it's not cleaned or because they have a medical issue. They claw and bite "for no reason" because you don't get their energy out enough through playing.

I had a cat that started behaving like that, too. The biting is stress relief (she was getting lonely and depressed), and the peeing everywhere and begging for food is often a sign of either diabetes or a kidney hole. If not either of those, you should've tried emptying her litter tray more. Cats always beg for food, though.
My dogs are more of a pain than my cats, in my case. Sure, they do all that adorable stuff for the first year or two of their life... But there's also extra maintenance required to keep a dog. They need more food, daily walks and training, whereas cats actually eat very little, walks are optional and training beyond litter training is unnecessary. And when dogs grow up, they usually need TONS of operations, they are very fragile, they get mood swings, they go blind... All because they take so many risks cause they still think they're a puppy. Cats occasionally have the same elderly hazards, but at a much lower rate considering they are thoughtful when considering risks, are less likely to go blind and/or deaf (unless they're white with blue eyes), and are no more moody than they were in their kitten years.
So, yeah, Cats are superior.

This is funny and all, but most people actually believe cats are like that. My cats are more easy going than most dogs, they come when I call them, obey vocal commands and greet people. Cats are awesome, with the right education.
