I really like fishing with a flutter spoon, but you're right about it being good exercise! I started doing it when I saw bass busting on bait and nothing else would get bites. It's a great situational presentation that can catch some really nice fish!
@@BassFishingDeclassified I like a smaller spoon - a 4" Sexy Spoon from Strike King in the green shad color is the one I use the most. I also have a spoon I got from my dad that's nearly as old as I am...a "Big Joe" spoon. I like to throw them on my deep cranking setup - 7'3" Shimano Sellus rod, heavy power with a moderate fast tip and 17-22 lb fluoro on a Lew's basticast reel 7.5:1.
Would a retrieve where you pop it and let it flutter, pop it and let it flutter without hitting the bottom still work? Or does it need to lay on the bottom for a second or more to be effective?
Thanks for the info I’ll try my 8” watch out for a 40 inch pike
🤣

No that will work. I have swam it up above suspended fish and mixed up popping and stopping to let if flutter. Great question - Jimi
@@BassFishingDeclassified I've witnessed how effective these are but I also saw them loose 3 spoons in the matter of 5 minutes. Thanks for answering!
Yes, I have almost lost a few myself. A lure retriever has saved me!
