- Dear Listener,

LYRICS
I’ve never been this still
I’ve never lived this way
You can get so used almost anything, they say
But I don’t know how to stay
I have never set sail
But, I’ve heard it feels this way
You can get so used to every rock and sway
That you don’t know how to stay
now, you don’t know how to stay
I’ve been living like there was no answer to the call
there was no hand that I could hold
there was no melody that trusted me
to carry all the words I’d held inside me for so long
that I don’t even know what’s wrong
I’m just crying
I’ve never listened in
To what I had to say
You can get so used to pushing every thought away
That they don’t know how to stay
Now they don’t know how to stay
I’ve never been this still.

Thank you, NPR.
It's interesting to see how Alisa has developed this song in the past few years. More leisured now and the space allows her to lean into her perfect voice. In a basketball arena the reverb was sublime, in a small bougie venue one could here everything. I didn't hear a pin drop, but I had to close my eyes and let it echo from within, wrapping itself around my heart and soul like the warm embrace from a long lost sister returned from a mysterious journey to an enchanted forest, wherein the horrors of life have been fought back for awhile. All is well, all is well, all manner of thing shall be well.
Heard on tiny desk. Blew my mind. What a badass
I’m going to show all my friends. You are incredible🎶 #cometoSouthAfrica

Love love, love it ❤❤❤❤❤❤

Gorgeous song!! and your voice is so perfect.
Reminds me of George Harrison's lyrical style.
But in this case I have tears falling all over my workpiece.
