    Tip for starkvarg: develop enduro suspension. For extreme enduro you need even more softer susp., develop a clutch, for extreme enduro you need a clutch, in downhill in uphill, you need a clutch. Because you have extra room in the bike make some room where you could put a few small tools clicked on the bike? We dont carry the tools in a backpack because its Weight and weight will get you tyred. Even Food like gel we make with rubberbanden on the steeringbar. Integrate garmin navigation on the screen for routes, Integrate communication set in the computer so you connect with helmet Bluetooth so you can talk with your buddies. And do some led front lights. 👍🏻

    I've had absolutely no problem with range trail riding my Varg in California and Montana. The most I've run the battery down was 34%, after several hours of riding. You'll be sacked before the bike is. When camping, I charge it with a small 120v generator, and it works perfectly. Love the bike. Basically no maintenance, top shelf suspension and brakes, and it's unbelievably powerful. Open the throttle and the front wheel comes up. It's the liter bike of dirt bikes. I challenge anyone that doesn't like it to ride it; it will blow your mind with how good it is.

    I've been doing a lot of single trail on mine. It seems like it used about 20% an hour. I keep mine at 40HP with 35% braking. I also ride a really deep MX sand track and the battery life is pretty bad. I would say less than a 3/4 hour. Everybody I know in Wisconsin that bought one of these rides trails. The AMA will not let us race MX, but you can ride the offload races. I think they are marketing this to the wrong crowd in the USA. The AMA (MX Sports) is going to black ball Stark until Honda and KTM have a bike or Stark starts sponsoring (bribing) them.
    Also. My wife is really short and stuck on a KLX140L. If you come out with an 85 sized bike, I'll buy that one too. For the love of all that is holy, do not make a 50cc bike. That market is saturated. There is nothing in the 85cc size range. I would happily spend $13,000 on an electric 85 for my wife.

      This is great info, thanks for sharing. If you do a 4-5hr trail ride, what is the average moving time? (trying to gauge how hard the bike is working for that 20% per hour). Im trying to see if I can do a 2hr sprintduro that is roughly 30-35miles and I would also set it around 40-45hp.

      How about lower the suspension like a 100-120mm?
      It now has an insane (good) 320mm travel. 200mm of that is plenty for your wife.

    • @bikesbeersbeats

      If you checkout Electric Motion bikes like the XR or Factor-E, the idea with programmable mapping is you get multiple bikes in one. So if you want it to behave like an 85cc or 150cc you simply program the map for that. This way as your wife progresses she can increase the available power and no need to sell/buy another bike. Pretty sure its the same with the Varg but then again the Varg is about $13k new and its a full size bike so its intimidating to any new rider.

      In 60hp the Torque is actually lower than peak torque of the 450's.

    Great vid, but this is a time test, not a range test. Please be transparent and post the mileage for 1 lap (I didn’t see it in the video). Most trail people plan rides based on miles/km- not anticipated time.
    I understand the point you’re making- for amateurs the ride lasts longer. Other tests I’ve seen only post a trail range of about 35 miles, that’s not satisfactory- my 300 will do 70+. Match that and you’ll see more purchases, including me.

    • @MarkusOsmers
      @MarkusOsmers 17 днів тому +1

      You are not wrong, would be interesting, but also only the range wouldn't tell you that much. The track conditions, uphill / downhill etc. You wouldn't be able to compare it directly. If your track was mostly downhill with some steep climbs, the varg would regen a lot. The other way arround your range would look way different.

    • @cr-fc5rb
      @cr-fc5rb 17 днів тому +1

      the type of range test you are talking about is very subjective too. depending on the type of acceleration and what the held speed is.
      generally speaking 35-45 miles is the norm when on open trails.
      on hard enduro I get around 5 hrs run time but that only equates to 25 miles. it's short bursts of power through technical sections.
      on a deep loamy motorcross track I can murder the battery in 40 odd mins. Hard pack motocross track 1hr 10

    • @b2ridez279
      @b2ridez279 17 днів тому

      You both make valid points, but mileage gives an approximation to plan off of, time does not- that’s the main thing I’m getting at. 35-45 miles is still pretty unsat. Gas is still more consistent and predictable (probably always will be), but hope the tech catches up to being close. I imagine these things are sweet.

    • @MarkusOsmers
      @MarkusOsmers 17 днів тому +2

      I would love to have the buttons, like a quick shift, so you could have different throtle curvemaps. You could emulate gears, like splitting the full throttle curve over three gears and max throttle in each is limited to a max RPM for example have it in 1 to get about 0-33%, 2 for 33%-66%, 3 66%-100%. Beeing able to customize of course would be a big plus. I think having all RPMs in only one throttle is too sensitive in some conditions.

    It's a great bike, but having 3 people on the payroll "test" the range and lie to your customers this way just sucks. We know they barely make 1.5hr hare scrambles, sure 6hrs is possible if you take 3 hours of brakes, but then just say 10hrs with a dinner break in between.
    Your initial 6hr 110kg promise mislead us, things often don't work out, but don't try to throw sand in our eyes now that we can ride and see the range is clearly overstated by 2-3 times.

    Range is totally down to the rolling resistance.
    On the hard ground it lasts alot longer especially going slow on terrain that allows you to go so slow.
    Lower amps needed at slow speed on hard ground.
    On soft sand, where you can't go slow and rolling resistance is high, I get less than 35 kms at average 35kmh. 1 hour riding.
    On harder ground with some soft whooped stuff about 1% per minute is used. 100 minutes riding time for a full battery and less than 60km range I've found
    I imagine on hard road surface with street tyres you would get +100kms??

The other race was faster and longer, so he would have to change battery. I've never claimed that he could ride 6 hours on one battery, I'm responding to the claim that they are lying about the range. In a hard enduro setting, it's not unlikely that amateurs get that kind of range. I have a Varg and get under 2 hours on the kind of enduro I ride a lot of.
