Jacob's should not be on this list. Pay per pound is just the same thing as any "hotplate" restaurant. A Buffet is all you can eat at a set price.

So glad you mentioned Shady Maple! Pride and joy of Lancaster County right there, you should definitely try it out if you ever pass through Pennsylvania Dutch Country - just make sure you go at lunchtime if you don't wanna pay more than $20 per person.

Trouble with the land owner. They are almost finished with a large condo. Exactly what this city doesn't need.
I used to do buffets until my heart attack, then I dropped 150lbs and now I exercise regularly, portion control and wise choices are my new norm
I congratulate you on losing 150 lbs and getting healthy but I have the opposite side to that. Because of my line of work and being a heavily muscled giant I have to consume 4500 calories a day but that comes with being 6foot5 and 300 lbs
Haven't been to a buffet in at least 15 years. And with the prices these days I can't eat my moneys worth.
I miss the Sweet Tomatoes buffet restaurants.
I can vouch for The Bacchanal Buffet being the absolute best around. Been there three times already and going again in November!

@@bseidem5112 Last time I went $65 for breakfast, $80 after 1PM, another $20 if you want mimosas etc. Holidays expect it to cost more. Thanksgiving it usually is another $10ish.

Yep. We have have almost no buffets in the greater Los Angeles region but lots of "pay by the pound" restaurants.

The Feast in okc was the best buffet I had in years I recommend that place to everyone it's worth every penny and worth your time try me on that ate there last Saturday night it was worth every penny!!!
It’s Nordic Lodge isn’t on the list then throw the whole list away. I’ve been to several on this posting and the bacchanal is the only one even close.

This must be a really old video that just got posted recently but both the Honey Pig in Rockville AND Germantown are both closed permanantly. A hot pot buffet called KPot will be taking the germantown location. Honey pig has gone way down hill since expanding from the original Annandale, VA location.

No surprise the big 3 of Las Vegas Buffet's is on this list. But i was so shocked that King Buffet is on this list, this place is near where I live , the selection is pretty good, price wise it is more affordable than other asian buffets that I have been too.
Best buffet I have ever been too is easily Emzara's Kitchen at the Ark Encounter in Kentucky.
Charley's in Lincoln, MO has permanently closed, darnit
For $85 per person for adults I don't care how good their food is, the Bacchanal is not a good deal. I can't eat enough to justify the cost. I have a local Chinese buffet that charges $10 per person for seniors on weekdays and they have good food and a huge selection. Much better deal. Also a Mediterranean buffet, a little more expensive but still under $20.
what about golden corral
In my city, Defuniak Springs, Fl, we have Plateful which is a great value. The thing that would surprise many even myself on my last visit is that the sushi is made fresh on site. Yeah, who knew? The only thing is you don't want to fill up on to much of it. Maybe pair it with some salad bar options or the choice of up to three soups. My favorite is the Hot and Sour soup. They also added crawfish, the baked salmon is hit or miss depending on if you get an extra buttery section or not. They also have a bunch of other seafood options as long as typical Chinese food. It has nearly become a monthly thing for my brother and me.
King buffet is also available in Texas

Speaking as someone who has to eat 4500 calories a day buffets make sense in a cost cutting dinner out but in practice haven't had a good one in 20 years

The Vegas buffets are super expensive. Almost $100 per person.
To my extreme sadness the Red Apple in Avondale closed because of a pending condo. Like Chicago needed another ugly overpriced condo. The Red Apple was simply fantastic.
i saw a sign in between san diego & los angeles california that said $10 golden corral buffet. i thought what a good deal for 2023. considering death of the dollar menu :/

Shady Maple is Lancaster County isn't what it used to be. The quality has slipped. It was a huge disappointment last time we were there.

6:34 this is NOT a Best. You only go to this one if Vegas Buffet and Americana Buffet is just too far a drive. This is only an "ok" buffet, if you want to fill up on like 2 items, or the soup and/or ice cream.
Sumo Buffet is a better southern California buffet than King Buffet, higher quality

Buffets are the most unsanitary restaurants in existence. Nobody who has ever worked at one would ever eat at one. There is a good reason there are so few of them, they get shut down constantly by health inspectors

Just a nit-pick, "Home made." Yeah, nobody's cooking these dishes in their home then schlepping them to the restaurant (and it would probably be illegal). House made or made from scratch are better choices.
