- we make a visit to Nostell near Wakefield in Yorkshire, home to the Winn Family until it was gifted to The National Trust 1953 by the 3rd Baronet St Oswald... The mansion is a showcase for a wonderful collection of Thomas Chippendale furniture as well as having a fine collection of art and ceramics... enjoy our unique content ✨️

Hi Michael! We really are very fortunate to have so many great houses within a two hour drive of where we live... and so many more still to explore! Nostell is a real gem. It is just over an hours drive from home and what sets it apart is the wonderful original collection of Chippendale furniture which was made especially for the house and which is still there... so pleased you enjoyed it! 😊

Hi! We had a wonderful time ... we had the whole house to ourselves up until the last ten minutes inside which was amazing ! We got to talk to the volunteers in different areas which was also great... thank you so much for watching and commenting we really appreciate it. Hope your weekend is going great too! Hi Neil and Ant hope you are both well. Nostell is a fabulous nt site both inside and so much in the estate too. The south staircase is definitely a showstopper. They have opened a few more rooms since we last visited outside of Christmas so always nice to see additional areas. Loved all the information you provided along the way. There are some fabulous wallpapers here the designs are so elaborate imagine the colours when they were initially put up. We always love the dining rooms and this one doesn't dissapoint. We agree the tapestriy room is one of our favourites too such a wonderful showcase. What a lovely day you had nice to see the sunshine. You were lucky to get it all to yourselves. You would make good lords of the manor. This was a wonderful tour you have done a fabulous job. Hope you have a great week Best wishes Dave and Dawn ❤️
Hi Dave and Dawn! Thank you for watching guys... we were so lucky we couldn't believe no one else was in ... infact we took so much time going around on our own it wasn't until we reached the North staircase that people who had come in later caught us up! We found the house and contents breathtaking on this tour, it was a super bright sunny day so they had the blinds down in most rooms making it very dark which was difficult for filming but luckily the majority came out OK... I think we spent the most time in the Dining room and Tapestry room, there is so much to see in both these rooms though the Crimson room is spectacular too! We've had a lovely weekend thankyou... we hope your weekend has been a good one too... very best wishes Neil and Ant 😊

Hi guys. Another amazing mansion. You recording of it is good. Especially when you climbed the stairs at the beginning. The ceilings are the best feature for me. Do you these places have smells about them ?. I wonder . Thanks for your video. From Carl in NZ.
Hi Carl! Generally there's no smells at all... none that we've noticed... except for wood burning maybe! Nostell is a huge old place, we've been several times and you always see something you haven't noticed before... We hope you're keeping well and having a good week. @chrisisjustme7546 I guess they would have cleaners in . I can imagine that it would be like that where you see something that you hadn't noticed before. They are so large and detailed. Thanks guys and have a good week too.
@user-ix4wn1th5m i imagine in the days they were lived in properly with dozens of staff and cooking all the time, fresh flowers possibly in most rooms from the gardens and huge glass houses, that there would have been lots of many varied smells in them... most are now not lived in sadly. Hope the weather over there is good for you we are currently experiencing a very mixed season here in the UK!
@chrisisjustme7546 Yes , I liked watching Downton Abbey. And the staff were busy in the kitchen preparing meals and housemaids were cleaning and dusting. I would love doing visits to these places. You guys are so lucky over there. We don't have anything as grand here in New Zealand. The weather here is not bad. Today is mild, and the sun pokes out now and then. Im indoors with my heat pump on.
