I'm a knife collector and would love a Toor(dif model from this one), because they make excellent quality gear. Personally, i'd love to see more knives. I know it's a pewpew channel, but a review of good quality edged weapons occasionally would be cool. S35vn is a really good quality powder steel, the V is for the extra Vanadium and the N is Nitrogen. The nitrogen aids rust resistance and the vanadium adds more toughness/durability, if the old head unit is remembering right, correct me if i'm wrong anyone. Yeah, great video O.G. Merry Christmas to you and yours, O.G. from me and mine in wintery Scotland. All the best for the New Year when it comes.
Thanks for this review, well done. Real-world use and feedback is what is needed for gear like this. Keep up the good work. I constantly get feedback when I where your T-shirt out and about.
The fish hook is for cutting webbing like seatbelts or cording. We have a specialized knife in corrections that is sorta like that. It's called a "J-hook" which we use to cut down "hangers". (Not gonna explain, just use your imagination. )
This knife would make an obtuse Christmas gift, however for the right recipient it would be well received. A solid well thought out knife, obviously crafted by developers who use knives constantly. I like the idea that this knife is being made by returning servicemen. On that, merry Christmas OG, have a safe and happy festive season. Thank you for the great content in 2023 and I look forward to talking to you in 2024.
Great review, awesome tool! For those interested in those SERE teeth, CRKT M21-14SFG is a folding blade for whole lot less $ and looks (and works) just absolutely badass.
Valley Country license plates! I am anxiously waiting on your first outdoor video from Valley County in February. You might seriously consider following the snowplow south to Owyhee County where you might find some dirt and rocks to stand on. PS: A McCall friend told me that one of his neighbors got trail camera video of a cougar with two nearly grown yearlings strolling down one of the streets of McCall last winter. At least the town resident black bears are hibernating now. That knife is awesome!
Jealous ! That is a fine knife and well reviewed by OG. If I had a need for a knife like that then that's the one i'd be going for. Yes indeed OG do review knives, guns and outdoor gear along with the save your own arse tactical gear as well....and yer Scottish sense of humour
On the subject of carrying a knife for self defense purposes: Fist off, I've only been in one knife fight & I think that was with my grandma. But back to serious business... I was listening to a podcast interviewing a spec-ops guy a while ago. I believe the most useful thing I took from that podcast was his quote: "In a knife fight, everybody's gonna bleed." Good words to take to heart, methinks.
Sorry for the late post OG, I had to unexpectedly go into work today. Seems to be a stout enough knife, don't know exactly what I'd use it for though. I'd probably have to go out of my way to use it for its intended purpose.
Good review. Have been looking at Toor Knives for some time. Not Vault Queens by any means. excellent tools. My Winkler's and others remind me of their work. do want one.. I have a couple of their Knuckle Rings. ; )
If you come across something that you think is worth a look, I want to see it, whether it's a knife, gun part, or something for your truck. You haven't steered us wrong yet!
Hey OG, i always vale reviews and recommendations from men who have been there done that.. so yes please continue to review products that you think would be useful to all of us.
Go carve a turkey with it OG. Merry Christmas to you funny guys, and no shooting at the dinner table. No muzzle flash cooking. No ballistic meat carving. No high speed poultry takedowns. No lead in Christmas Dinner. Thanks for all the videos.
OG that is a bad ass knife! i never was much for serrated blades til i got hold of a buck folded 4in. with one side full length rip-saw. this thing cuts like a chain saw and its made of stainless to boot. that one you have is a real all purpose tool. hammering, prying and piercing steel and at a 1/4in. thick makes it an awesome choice. thank you for showing me something i really need!😊😊😊
hey OG I really like to hear your evals on new products. You don't have to be a jockey to look and say that is a fast horse. Please do look at new knives and tools that find their way to you. I bet if you gave that knife to an experienced firefighter in a big city they could dismantle a car pronto or breach any structure. All the woodsy guys crap on the old USAF survival knives saw back because they were terrible on wood but, they forget that most planes are not wood any more. That is an aluminum saw to 'egress' the downed air frame...so as to survive. It might take some saving but I can see me getting one of these in my vehicle survival kit for my daily driver in rural north west Alberta Canada
The teeth before the guthook is to start the cut on something like a rope. Starting the cut before you engage the hook makes it vastly more efficient on harder to cut materials..👍
I'm a full on knife nerd. Toor makes an excellent knife. Especially as combat, evasion/escape/survival knives go they are among the best available. Think Benchmade, Spyderco, or Magtech as parallels in the folding or edc world.
Great knife, and review! TOOR knives are absolutely awesome. Their customer service , warranty, service is just great. My MUTINY is the best EDC fixed blade . Have a great day!
Titanium has good strength to weight, but is a relatively soft material and does not have good abrasion or impact resistance. So that glass breaker button would have been better if it was just an extension of the blade handle.😄
OG, in all honesty, you failed to convince me that I need that thing (which is not a bad thing but rather an internally honest thing) which tells me they need to tweak it into something spectacular. Then you endorse/endorphins the upgrade and voila ... it's a winner. Ask them to meet ours and yours need and standards rather than us acquiescing to theirs. We'll pay handsomely for the tweaks and improvements .... you already know what they need to-do OG, as do they.
Nice knife, I like all of the things you do on your channel. And I wish I could afford a $50 knife. I have been using a $10 fair knife pretty much to open boxes. Nice review
Thanks OG. Good review. Although I like your videos on boom sticks and weird and wonderful shotgun slugs with Jeff, it’s nice to see something different occasionally. Happy retirement and Holidays
Just to clarify, and thought your viewers would like to know, the "Ball" is not Titanium, it's a much harder Tungsten Carbide ball. Not to nit pick, but there is a huge difference.
Nice revue OG , that is a very useful tool , sadly still illegal to carry in the UK , but in a camping/hunting or fishing bag perfectly legal . I know You don't take knock backs for good revues and any endorsement is Your Honest opinion No BS or hype . Thanks for all the Great video's in 2023 , I'm looking forward to living life vicariously watching future episodes in 2024 . Catch You next time . Shoot Straight Stay Safe & Stay Well.
Funny you should say freedoms per eagle, that was actually the name of my cover band back in high school, used to play Eagles songs at RSL's on the weekend. You would not believe the slow, dirty dancing those old timers could pull off when we played 'I Can't Tell You Why.'
A very cool looking knife that seems to be able to back up it's prettiness. I'd love to be able to drop that kinda money on a knife, but at this stage in my life I wouldn't use it that much if I'm honest, and I'd probably like to support an Aussie company if I did, that being said it is definitely worth spending more on something, be that a knife or a pair of pants, quality lasts where cheap crumbles.
@@OGsDangerShow Thanks for the recommendation Gregg, I had a look at his work, very impressive and definitely love his style, I'll be keeping my eye on his page.
Hey sir, just found your channel, awesome videos. Thank you for the info in your videos. Also thank you for being an LEO. There's no way I would want that job, but I appreciate all the folks that do
To answer the hardness question, 59-62 RC is ya... really good. Should stay sharp for a long time but don't bother trying to sharpen it yourself if your the average country bumpkin with a cheep stone. I suppose you could get away with those nice V-channel tungsten carbide or diamond sharpeners but probably leave it to somebody with some experience in cutter geometry & blade sharpening. Brittleness is a factor. Though your not likely to break it on wood, just don't go using it to to pry the bell-housing way from your truck's engine. You may regret it.
Good video OG. ❤ Beautiful day for pole dancing. 🤣🤣🤣 🎶 Nobody does it better. 🎶 I never want to get into a knife fight but my Cold Steel folders only have one use. I don't use them for anything. I have a multi tool for everyday nonsense or cutting cardboard. I'm convinced someday there'll be a day when I need to defend myself and not let everyone in a mile radius know I was there. Stay safe brother. I hope your compound is finishing up the way you want it.
I am a simple man who just wants a simple knife that can cut rope, skin deer, fillet fish, start a fire, baton logs, break windows, puncture tires, pry doors open, cut wire, split bullets, float in water, hold an edge, never rust, and point north. And it has to have a full semi auto tang. That's all I need.
I just parted ways with a knife that was considerably thinner than that, after the first 50 sharpening's it becomes a huge task to remove enough metal to create an edge. The price is pretty high as well.
That is a premium price for sure, given other options on the market. It looks well built, but my Hogue Rescue will beat it at rescuing people, and a $14 pry bar will beat it at the rest. That being said, it is very nice and I wouldn't mind owning one.
Great review, Officer Gregg! I’d echo your sentiment…Invest in QUALITY. You’ll save money in the long run! I’d rather spend $350 on something that will last me the rest of my life, than $100 on something that will break and need replacement with any serious use. Merry Christmas!
