Fun fact 32:23 That was apparently Chris Pratt actually dropping the prop on accident. It fitt with the tone of the movie so well, they decided to keep it.
First time you see Thanos is during the mid-credits scene at the end of Avengers. Not sure if you remember this either, but we’re introduced to the Collector during the mid-credits scene at the end of Thor: The Dark World. It’s also the first time we hear the Infinity Stones referenced. So now we’ve been introduced to the third Infinity Stone. The Tesseract holds the first, the Aether holds the second, and now the Orb holds the third. There are six in total, so keep your eyes and ears open as you continue your MCU journey, because the others pop up eventually in other films.
32:15 him dropping the orb was a genuine mistake they decided to leave in, same as sean gunn dropping out of char and laughing when yondu was terrorising the other buyer
For ranking the movies from favorite to least...I categorize the Avengers separate from the individual movies because they are full ensemble movies. I had never heard of the Guardians... until Kevin Feige released the rundown of the phases. I looked up on them to know their comics have been out for awhile. Can't help but love them. All around good fun, and they carry on the arc for the Infinity stone saga.
Drax and Rocket are hands down my favorite Guardians. I still can’t wrap my head around Bradley Cooper as Rocket😊 PS- I hadn’t seen a video with Lewis in a while and wow has his voice changed! His is almost deeper than yours 😆
As some have said before, while DC was trying to make movies that were darker, more serious and realistic, Marvel said, “Here’s a talking raccoon with a machine gun!”
What is that? That is Yondu Odantu's Yaka arrow. He controls it mentally by the fin on his head which he orients by whistling. It is a very intimidating weapon. 😅
This is one of my favorite Marvel movies, because of the actors and the special effects, and a Great Story🤩 I love that the actress of Avatar, Zoe Saldana plays gamora, and Peter Quill is Owen from the last 3 jurrassic world movies, such a GOOD cast👍❤!
You actually CAN watch the next one right after this one. You don’t need to know anything about the other Marvel movies after this one to know what happens in the next Guardians movie, so jumping right into the next one would be perfectly fine!
Thank you both for sharing your reaction to this. I first saw Lee Pace(Ronan) as a very different character in the two short seasons of the fantasy series, "Pushing Daisies."
This was the one so many people thought would be the first MCU movie that wasn’t a hit. Mostly because they were “nobody” characters that mostly only comic readers even knew of.
Howard The Duck was a comedy movie from the 80's about a duck from outer space. It is meant to be a funny joke that the collector has Howard. Problem is only us older generation remember Howard the Duck.
Great to have you guys back on the MCU. This is the part in the journey where things get AMAZING and things really start connecting. Can't wait for you to see it. (And yes, you saw Thanos briefly in The Avengers. He's basically who sent Loki to New York). And he was the smiling face at the end when he was told humans were unruly and cannot be ruled and that to court them was to court death.
You saw Thanos in the mid credit scene after the Avengers. You saw the collector and first heard the phrase Infinity Stones in the end credit scene after Thor the Dark World
Hey, Kev and Louis! You don't have to wait to find out what happens next! According to director James Gunn and Kevin Feige, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" occurs just MONTHS LATER in 2014 before "Avengers: Age of Ultron" in 2015! You have the option of seeing it next WITHOUT SPOILING anything that comes after. Alternatively, you can see it five movies down the road by following release order. Either way works. It's up to you!
This is only the 2nd time we've seen Thanos up to this point. The only other time we see him is at the end credits of Avengers. But we only see his face for a couple seconds. This is the first time we hear him speak. You'll see more of him in the future.
To be clear Groot is DEAD, that is a new Groot not a regrow, and the Groot Speak is learned with connection to groot, when he says "I AM GROOT" they hear what eh actual say once they have formed a connection to him, you will hear it in time to.
This is definitely one of my favorite movies in the MCU as well. I love it because it just feels like such a fun space adventure with characters that have so much chemistry and charisma. I've always described it as like you're watching the first Star Wars movie for the first time, A New Hope. You're thrown into an established universe of aliens an technology but you're never lost, and you go on an adventure that is just fantastic and FUN. Fun fact, at the end credit scene there with the Collector, you see a big duck sitting there. That is a Marvel character from a decades old comic called Howard the Duck, and they actually made a movie with him in the 80's. A very silly, ridiculous movie that didn't go over so well, but its one of MY guilty pleasures from my childhood as I've watched it so many times!
The Guardians of the Galaxy were an almost completely unknown collection of characters - even by comics readers. I used to be an avid Marvel comics reader, and I only barely remembered Rocket Raccoon and Drax the Destroyer. And Star Lord's goggles looked familiar. They weren't just second-string Marvel characters - they were more like seventh-string characters. It made no sense to me that they'd even make this movie about characters no one knows. But they didn't consult me about it, and it turned out to be one of the best MCU movies. Groot is dead. This new Groot is the original Groot's offspring. You saw Thanos before in the end credits of Avengers. The guy who smiles at the end.
in regards to Jurassic Park, the original movie is one of the all-time greats and you two should definitely see it at some point. There are a bunch of sequels, but I really only think the original is the one you HAVE TO see. And it's pretty good time to see it too, since the film just recently celebrated its 30th anniversary.
Another top tier entry in the MCU. Glad you both enjoyed it. Your reactions to Yondu’s arrow were priceless! lol. 😂 Definitely one of the coolest weapons in the MCU.
The best MCU franchise imo - these can all be watched as standalone. And AWESOME soundtracks for each films! At the end of the last one, I cried like a baby 😢 - enjoy this journey Starlord! 😁
Every time you said rocket your accent made me think you said rabbit. You will find out eventually as you keep watching why that's kind of funny. New subscriber!
Because of this role, Chris Pratt has to shed the weight and gain muscle. In the final season of Parks and Recreation, his character explains the weight loss was from just giving up beer 😂 I had no expectations heading into the first movie, only because Guardians of the Galaxy was almost like bottom of the barrel in terms of the Marvel catalogue and almost nonexistent in the mainstream consciousness. Instantly became one of my favorites
Hey, Kev and Louis! "Guardians of the Galaxy" was an acquired taste for me. I like my science fiction sober so it always surprises me that the zaniness of this franchise appeals to so many. I reacted negatively upon initially viewing this bizarre, star-hopping hodge-podge of juvenile lunacy because it was at such variance with the source material! There were two fantastic comic book iterations of the team that I felt outclassed the cinematic interpretation: Jim Valentino's '90s Guardians which exist in an alternate 31st-century and Dan Abnett/Andy Lanning's '00s Guardians which is the basis for the movies. Each member of the Valentino team was the sole survivor of their kind including a time-displaced 20th-century character who served the same function Captain America did for the Avengers. They were freedom fighters struggling against an alien invader that occupied the solar system. The Abnett/Lanning team was cobbled together from a disparate group of characters who had been created by a variety of writers and artists throughout the decades such as Steve Engelhart, Mark Gruenwald, Jim Starlin, Chris Claremont, Gerry Conway, Jack Kirby and Stan Lee. The writing duo crafted a brilliant space opera that tied together all the elements of Marvel's cosmic gallery: the abstract entities, the Elder beings, the Celestials, Earth's space-based heroes and every major interstellar civilization. There was situational and character comedy naturally derived from a motley crew of misfits but the stories were serious and the stakes were real. Most everything is played for laughs in the film. Nevertheless, the humor mostly lands and there is an emotional resonance that carries the day. I do give director James Gunn tremendous credit for pushing the envelope and going for broke with these little-known characters bringing them to vivid life. He takes pains to authentically recreate Marvel's cosmic setting by incorporating organizations like the Nova Corps, facilities like the Kyln prison and wondrously grotesque objects like Knowhere, the severed head of a titanic Celestial that has been colonized by millions and mined of its cerebrospinal fluid! The cast is eclectic but fully committed to their characters which often deviate markedly from their comic counterparts. Chris Pratt is affable and affecting as Peter Quill but his bravado comes across as childish as opposed to the world-weary drifter Star-Lord is in the comics. Zoe Saldana is appropriately fierce as Gamora but is never given a proper showcase to confirm her as 'the deadliest woman in the galaxy'. Drax is presented as a fusion of the dense persona created by Jim Starlin in the '70s and the indomitably stoic powerhouse he evolved into under Abnett/Lanning. Dave Bautista's impressive comedic portrayal threads the needle between the two versions spectacularly making his character a stand-out! Bradley Cooper nails Rocket Raccoon as a smart-mouthed, bitter, nasty piece of work. The only character in the bunch actually created by Stan Lee is Groot whose enigmatic portrayal is comic accurate and highly distinctive. There was no need for Vin Diesel to be cast in this part but he apparently learned how to say "I am Groot" in fifteen languages! Diesel would have been ideally suited to play Ronan the Accuser had he been rendered with fidelity. Instead, Lee Pace, a fine actor, was made to portray him as a ridiculous maniac while his comic counterpart is much more noble and complex. When viewed chronologically, this is Ronan's second appearance in the saga as well as Korath's again played by Djimon Hounsou. Three other characters making their second bow are Taneleer Tivan, the Collector, reprised by Benicio del Toro, his Krylorian servant Carina reprised by Ophelia Lovibond and the Chitauri spokesman known as The Other reprised by Alexis Denisof. The Nova Corps of Xandar are introduced led by Glenn Close's Nova Prime in an elaborate wig! Most notable among the Corpsman are John C. Reilly's Rhomann Dey and Peter Serafinowicz's Denarian Saal. Sharif Atkins and Brendan Fehr also play nameless Nova Corpsman. The space pirate Nebula who claims Thanos as her grandfather in the comics is repurposed as Thanos' second adoptive daughter and Gamora's rival in the film where she is played by Karen Gillan. Thanos himself, only briefly glimpsed in "Avengers", finally emerges from the shadows played by Josh Brolin. Gunn rounds out the cast with his usual stable including Michael Rooker as the Centaurian Ravager Yondu Udonta. In the comics, Yondu is from the 31st-century Valentino team of Guardians and he uses a bow to fire his yaka arrows whereas the movie sets Yondu among the Abnett/Lanning team of Guardians and cleverly has him whistle to control the flight of his sound-sensitive yaka arrow. Other Gunn troupe members are the director's brother, Sean Gunn, as Ravager Kraglin, Nathan Fillion as the lewd CGI inmate who gets hoisted by his nostrils and Gregg Henry as Grandpa Quill. Christopher Fairbank has a small role as a skittish broker. Laura Haddock plays cancer-stricken Meredith Quill and Wyatt Oleff of "It" plays young Peter. Tomas Arana has a bit part as the Kree Ambassador as does sepulchral-voiced Ralph Ineson as a Ravager pilot. Finally, Seth Green provides the voice of Howard the Duck! TRIVIA: 1. Chris Pratt lost sixty pounds for the role, Karen Gillan shaved her head and Vin Diesel stood on stilts when delivering his lines. 2. Director James Gunn rewarded any cast or crew member for especially good work with a can of Play-Doh. He gave out forty of them during the shoot. 3. Quill's ship, the 'Milano', is named after the character's childhood crush, Alyssa Milano. 4. In MCU-time, "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2" occurs just months after the first one in 2014 before "Avengers: Age of Ultron" in 2015. EASTER EGGS: 1. Cosmo, the telepathic canine cosmonaut seen among the Collector's possessions and licking him at the end, actually commands Knowhere station in the comics! 2. Bereet, the alien girl aboard the 'Milano', is a deep-dive reference to a Hulk story where a female alien by her name accompanied Hulk and recorded his adventures! 3. The Power Stone contained in the Orb is the fourth Infinity Stone seen in the saga! CAMEO: 1. Stan Lee appears as a Xandarian Lothario with funky shades flirting with a young woman while Rocket is seeking potential bounties with his scanner. END-CREDIT SCENES: 1. A potted Baby Groot sways to the soundtrack while Drax polishes his blades. When Drax perceives the motion out of the corner of his eye, he turns and Baby Groot freezes in place until Drax turns away whereupon the potted twig resumes to boogie. 2. Sitting morosely amid the ruins of his Collection, a bandaged Tivan sips a tropical drink while Cosmo sympathetically licks his face prompting Howard the Duck to remark how gross that is while sipping his own beverage from the shattered remains of his display case. The next chronological stop in the MCU are the "I Am Groot" shorts "Groot's First Steps", "The Little Guy" and "Groot Takes a Bath" followed by Episodes 1 - 10 of Season 2 of "Agents of SHIELD".
Still one of the best parts of the MCU. You'll learn more about Peter's story in the next one. P.S. Howard the duck, who was in the last end scene...is another Marvel character that fits in to the obscure Space faring stories.
Hey guys, just on the basis of movies that you might not have watched that I think you would enjoy is the 2 Antonio Banderas Zorro movies, really entertaining
You are right you NEED to see the first 2 Guardians before the 3rd. Btw they are all very good, the 3rd is by far the best. I am as yet undecided if it is the best of the MCU movies
In the end scene, the duck is Howard the duck. It's a Marvel character and in 80 there was a movie about him, not good but it was the first marvel character movie. Howard lookt different in the 80 movie than this Howard.
Thanks for your Marvel videos (and the other ones, for that matter), your reactions always look so genuine and kind... A quick question, not related... what's the music that we can hear at the very beginning of your video? I know I know it, being born in the '70s and having lived my teenager years through house music and electro, but I can't put a name on it anymore and it's so short that Shazam has a hard time recognizing it 🙂
love the marvel reaction guys . if you ever get e clear slot for a tv series i would recommend daredevil it is marvel but kinda separate but it is a bit ( a lot darker ) than the movies and imo is one of the best things marvel has ever done and i reckon youll love it
My favorite Christopher Nolan film is "Memento". There's a lot of very R rated language in it, so maybe not appropriate for the channel right now, but it's a masterpiece.
They seriously nerfed Drax from the comics for this movie. In the comics Drax was powerful enough to almost kill Thanos. He would have wiped the floor with Ronin.
Regarding the end credit scene: Howard the Duck is a classic 80s movie (a bit of a cult classic, really). It's hilarious, weird and just so 80s. You must watch and react to it.
Howard the Duck is a weird, obscure comic character. There was a terrible movie made back in the 80s. Thanos was shown at the end of the first Avengers movie. The Collector was shown at the end of Thor 2
maybe you guys should react to star wars tales of the Jedi if you haven't already. It's amazing the first two or three epsoides are ten years before the battle of genosis.
@@SofaandChill i think dave phrased it that way bc you were explaining why you hadn’t seen the movie yet, not realizing that you were just doing channel upkeep. Hey if you had seen it all already, what would be the point of the channel? 😂
I feel the "black light" joke went over the sons head and dad's thinking thank god
“You said it yourself bitch. We’re the Guardians of the Galaxy.”
One of the best lines in Marvel history.
Fun fact 32:23 That was apparently Chris Pratt actually dropping the prop on accident. It fitt with the tone of the movie so well, they decided to keep it.
Thanos' servant who Ronan kills in this film is the same one from Avengers and he gives Loki the sceptre and grants him the Chitauri army.
First time you see Thanos is during the mid-credits scene at the end of Avengers. In the MCU, it’s unique, but funny, emotional and wholesome at the same time
Totally agree :)
Back when MCU was less woke and less M-she-u. MCU practically died after spiderman no way home. Thanks to gotg 3 they got redeemed.
32:15 him dropping the orb was a genuine mistake they decided to leave in, same as sean gunn dropping out of char and laughing when yondu was terrorising the other buyer

CAMEO:
1. Stan Lee appears as a Xandarian Lothario with funky shades flirting with a young woman while Rocket is seeking potential bounties with his scanner.
END-CREDIT SCENES:
The next chronological stop in the MCU are the "I Am Groot" shorts "Groot's First Steps", "The Little Guy" and "Groot Takes a Bath" followed by Episodes 1 - 10 of Season 2 of "Agents of SHIELD".
i aint reading all that chief.
You're reactions are fantastic, love the Guardians of the galaxy trilogy...love this movie ❤👏👏
Still one of the best parts of the MCU. You'll learn more about Peter's story in the next one. P.S. Howard the duck, who was in the last end scene...is another Marvel character that fits in to the obscure Space faring stories.
Who do thought when I watched toward the duck back in the eighties that He would make a reappearance all this time later.
It is very interesting to see your joint reaction to the films Robocop 1987 and Real Steel 2011. These are cool movies 👍🔥
Lewis is far too young for Robocop, apparently its quite violent
Perhaps it is. But Lewis will definitely like Real Steel 2011. The film is just about a son with a father 👍
@@SofaandChillVERY violent (but when he's old enough, you' both will definitely get a kick out of it)
Thanos was also in the mid credit scene in the avengers.
Yondu is a great Space Robin hood.
You mentioned that you had seen Thanos. I think that he first appears in the MCU inthe end credits of The Avengers(Avengers Assemble).
Subbed! Nice reaction boys!
Another great reaction....yes this eventually grew on me....i hope we get age of ultron soon 😉
He was in the Avengers end credits
In the end scene, the duck is Howard the duck. It's a Marvel character and in 80 there was a movie about him, not good but it was the first marvel character movie. Howard lookt different in the 80 movie than this Howard.
Thanks for your Marvel videos (and the other ones, for that matter), your reactions always look so genuine and kind...
A quick question, not related... what's the music that we can hear at the very beginning of your video? I know I know it, being born in the '70s and having lived my teenager years through house music and electro, but I can't put a name on it anymore and it's so short that Shazam has a hard time recognizing it 🙂
Avengers age of Ultron would be next after this
love the marvel reaction guys . if you ever get e clear slot for a tv series i would recommend daredevil it is marvel but kinda separate but it is a bit ( a lot darker ) than the movies and imo is one of the best things marvel has ever done and i reckon youll love it
My favorite Christopher Nolan film is "Memento". There's a lot of very R rated language in it, so maybe not appropriate for the channel right now, but it's a masterpiece.
Thanos was in avengers post credit he master of the c'tari
I'm pretty sure you saw Thanos at the end credit scene in The Avengers, not in Thor.
They seriously nerfed Drax from the comics for this movie. In the comics Drax was powerful enough to almost kill Thanos. He would have wiped the floor with Ronin.
I can't wait when youngling will see Avengers: Infinity War :D His reactions are priceless :)
I Loved this movie 💖
I havent seen the 3rd movie yet, but the second one is even better than this one 🙂
Regarding the end credit scene: Howard the Duck is a classic 80s movie (a bit of a cult classic, really). It's hilarious, weird and just so 80s. You must watch and react to it.
Next part 2,3 pls
Howard the Duck is a weird, obscure comic character. There was a terrible movie made back in the 80s.
Thanos was shown at the end of the first Avengers movie. The Collector was shown at the end of Thor 2
maybe you guys should react to star wars tales of the Jedi if you haven't already. It's amazing the first two or three epsoides are ten years before the battle of genosis.
You watching avatar the way of water reaction
We watched it at the cinema mate :)
Yandu loves to put trinkets on his Dash'
Who would name their kid after a fried rodent? Really... Crisp Rat??? Come on!
Why are you so defensiva about watching a movie?
In what way defensive?
@@SofaandChill i think dave phrased it that way bc you were explaining why you hadn’t seen the movie yet, not realizing that you were just doing channel upkeep.
Hey if you had seen it all already, what would be the point of the channel? 😂
