Partly because I don't find his performance powerful and convincing enough - he simply lacks that natural mischievousness that emanates from Mester's every move. And in part because in trying to balance that he comically overplays the role - listen for example him singing "Ma nagyott nőtt az árnyék" in the versions uploaded here: when singing "...hisz ismersz" at the beginning. He hisses that word-final "sz" VERY long, to paint some "snakeyness" with it obviously - but to my Hungarian ear, it's just ridiculous. Mester was a natural, and - as his surname suggests - a master of the role. No one's ever been close to him since. But the Rudolfs since György Szomor are even worse - that's why I was delighted to find an upload of yours where the best ever duo of these roles perform together.
Indeed, unfortunately there aren't. I don't know whether the original production was ever recorded officially and came out on vhs. Would be good though. Someday I might inquire about this at the Operett Színház.
A correction: the title is "Útvesztő minden út". And thanks for the upload, there's never been a greater death than Mester!
I've already forgotten it. To me, Mester played and sang Death as it should've been. Not Kamarás, definitely not Szabó P. but him and no one else.

+RoseDiMontague True, but sadly they're very underappreciated. But I'm glad you've come across our renditions, however it'd happened. :)

Sad, but expected.
