Man, this is the best guide on minting from the contract! Including several examples and their differences was really helpful. I ran into one that was different once and panicked haha. Ready to snipe my next mint.
you are the best man i was lost for months in nft world its so crazy i lost lot of my money , but when i saw your vid i learned many things thanks bro im really grateful for what you are doing thank youuuuuuuuuuuu
Hey thanks man I am minting for the first time . It’s gonna be my first mint of nft . So in order to mint my first nft I had to look UA-cam on how to mint nft then I saw your video it really helped
Thanks for the info! So, when a WL part of the mint is done, will the contract then be adjusted to Payable amount and nr of tokens within Etherscan? Cause that's the only option i see with some projects in the contract under 'mint' and the other buttons
Each contract will be different, but sometimes there are different mint functions for public and presale. Otherwise the team can switch the state of the sale to private or public manually.
@@TopHatCat Thanks for the reply man appreciate it! So now for example i see only _tokenid (uint256) and _receiver (address) under mint in the write contract. Instead of Payable amount and Nr of tokens. So how do I do it here?
I don't comment usually but your videos are excellent - always to the point, great insights that actually deliver results and a no-hype, calm way of presenting. Awesome job!
How to mint like a boss thank you sir! That super high gas fee before contract open caught me on the last project I tried. Had me so confused. Keep it up man 🤘
Mentos should print little messages on their mints, like "you're awesome" or "looking great" and call them Complimentos! Love the content man, keep them coming!
Super helpful. I had to do a lot of research myself to be able to mint bloot and this would have saved me a ton of time and I probably would have been able to get more if I knew what I was doing
4:19 I have a question. Here you say that you're already on your computer refreshing the contract before the drop, but the first tip in your video was to wait until 75% is minted. Isn't that kinda contradictory?
I add the caveat of "Unless you know for a fact it's going to mint out." So waiting to mint is for random finds and less hyped projects. Minting right away is for things that will go into a gas war.
Great stuff. I got a question you are talking about press write and retry till you get a decent gasfee. Do you mean that you can prepare the tx before activation then? I though you had to wait to exact time and press write and edit gas
You can actually submit the transaction before (while it shows the error) but I DO NOT recommend trying this - some people use really low gas then speed it up once it's live but you can fail and lose a LOT of money. Just wait until there is no error, then submit your transaction! Hope this helps.
great video man. So how much should we be expected to spend in gas to get in the mint? talking on behalf of newbies, who wont habe a boat load of eth to spend. appreciate your time
Hi buddy thanks for the video 🥳 Your content is really well explained and helpful!! I think we would all be keen to see a video talking about your different strategies to research and find good NFT collections, before and after mint.
Hey man, recently found your channel and I am stunned at how little subscribers you have... you have so many good facts and stuff about nfts! Recently got into NFTS myself and I learnt how to mint through you :) appreciate everything you've done!
love your videos, easy to understand and quick to the point. one question if someone is presale confirmed and the presale window is 2 days with a max per person listed, there should be no risk to choosing slow gas correct?
hey man - for a hype project nowadays, what should i realistically be paying in gas? i have a limited budget so i'm also worried my transaction will fail and i'll lose my gas money if i don't put enough in. but at the same time, i don't want to overpay. thank you!
Hey, it's really hard to estimate how much gwei a mint will cost, and then calculate how much that is in eth. Lately really hyped stuff is 3-4x the base cost, but that's really oversimplifying it you know?
A question... There is a project which made presale and going to make a public sale soon... Can see nft on the open sea(still not revealed)... Got contract address. So, It will be the same contract address for all the nfts in the project, right?
Hi THC, I had a go at this but got mixed up with the gas amount to put in, I always read gas as 100-300 or more GWEI but the gas was something like 15000 or something, what's that value and how can I estimate what to up it to? Cheers, wish you did more vids
Hey, what if the contract has a "mint" and a "purchase"? One has 3 boxes and the other has 2 Under "Mint" is shows "ether amount" "to address" and "amount of nts" Under Purchase, it shows the same two boxes you showed "ether amount" and "amount of nfts"
A bit confused about one of your tips. You said that you have your gas price ready to paste and that you wait for low GWEI. I loved your short vid on gas wars but I admit it's still not clear to me which of these field in advanced gas settings you prepare for in advance. Could you explain what you mint? I mean, meant.
Hey, new video up for the metamask update. Also to clarify, I paste my gwei in for REALLY hyped drops that I'm certain will sell out. Otherwise I just scope it out through the contract and see if the momentum is slowing down, if it looks like it's slowing down I will wait and mint with lower gas.
sorry for asking noob question, what happens after you successfully minted via smart contract? i mean do you know what exact NFT you getting or something? not sure if theres a follow up video.. cheers
Thank very much. I am new to this space and very excited to be a part of it and support artists. But this seems overwhelming and very time consuming. Do you have suggestions for someone who has other commitments but still wants to be involved?
Yeah follow people on twitter for timely updates, but if you're wanting to just dip your toe in I would suggest buying works from an artist you like and holding them long term.
Thanks so much for this video, when you're at the part where you right click paste the Gwei, do you change the Gas Limit as well? I'm a bit new in this space, thanks for your help
@@TopHatCat is this strat still the same with the new update to metamask? e.g. pasting in a predetermined value into the max fee box (and dont touch the first 2 boxes)?

if i mint say 4 nft's on 1 address on my metamask and then mint on a different wallet connected to my metamask from the dropdown from my phone will that increase my chances
Does the amount of NFTs you mint impact the gas fee? Also, I’ve got a project I’m looking to mint on in a few days, when I select contract from open sea, and choose write, there is no mint, just a buy. Wheni select buy it asks for hash, signature, and bytes in addition to qty. Would I need to fill this out? Thx!
Yes, you would need to be able to fill that out to mint. If you don't know what to put don't mess with the contract! And yes - number of items you are minting will increase the gas limit automatically, so you use the same gwei but it costs more to mint more.
thanks tophat this is amazing info! I tried applying this to a few public mints today metamask was indicating to me that the webiste suggest gas price was something crazy lik 5 and 6 eth.. is that how much people were paying to get in? or ... what if i toggled my gas to like 2 eth and submitted.? would i lose that whole 2 eth if i didn't win? how can i send you tips btw? sorry i'm a newb in this space
Gas shouldn't have been that high, might've been a messed up contract or error in your metamask. Unless rapid gwei was like 5000 and you were minting a TON, that seems way too expensive.

For SOL nft drops; good internet, only 1 browser tab open, signed in to wallet, fast fingers, and get lucky.
@@TopHatCat thank you exactly how i done it last night. Just missing the luck. Surely more tabs open would increase the chances of bagging one?
