Yeah everyone said that about desai last year when he said he wanted other teams to feel us..blah blah. Not saying Vic won't be good but withhold judgement till we see the results on the field.
@justwait9822 I feel u on that. The difference is that no one knew Desai. Vic is known & has good results. He didn't work out in Miami because some of those players were soft, didn't wanna work & be pushed. We need that type of coach here.

That's on the player's, they had 70 sacks and didn't touch Mahomes! The scoop and score from Hurts didn't help either
@@tcollier5460not tryna make excuses but that field was experimental very slippery for both teams so it really neutralized that historic pass rush.

Excellent start. The point he made about coaches not pushing players to be great is right on the nose. There were certain players on last year’s defense that were not giving their best effort on every play. Especially in the secondary, there were guys last year that took plays off, and guys that toward the end of the year started just giving up when a play didn’t go their way. At the first sign of trouble, our defense completely collapsed. And that’s not just a personnel issue. That’s coaching. If you let your whole defense just throw up their arms and quit on themselves because they gave up a TD, you are screwed in these league. All I saw from that defense last year was frustration and petty bickering about whose fault it was after the fact. Someone needed to push those men to rise to the occasion. And nobody did an effective job. Not Nick, not Desai, not Matt Patricia, not anybody. The defense quit, and the coaches let them. There were games last year where several players should have been outright benched for weak effort. There were no consequences, those guys who were failing their team game in and game out never lost a single snap. We had talent on defense last year. We didn’t have heart. We didn’t have coaching. We didn’t have a winning mentality.
I love the way this Man think you have to be versatile now in days and be able to do different things within the scheme

He makes a great point about going back to basics. It seemed like a lot of the time last year we were just doing too much. Vic can't magically scheme us out of trouble all the time, and I'm glad that he got that out of the way early. He relies on his players' versatility, and a lot will be thrown at them. However, it seems like he won't compound mistakes. That's what happened last year, and it had disastrous results.
Interesting illumination on his role with the Eagles as a consultant. Definitely explains why our offense was versatile and dynamic. We could LITERALLY do anything. It was prolific.
I'm cautiously optimistic this year.

I'm all in on Vic!!! I think Vic will have the defnese purring! Honestly it doesn't even have to be lock down. It just needs to be competent. Middle of the pack would have won us many games last year!
I am concerned about the offense. I feel like they just keep pouring shit on top of Sirianni's shit offense and wondering why it smells.

This is a football guy all the way around. People forget he was the DC for 9ers with Patrick Willis and Navarro Bowman when they were a top defense. Anxious to see the defense this season.

Im a big Vic Fangio guy, but we gotta relax with the Johnson comparisons schematically their schemes are literally the complete opposite. Fangio is two high shell and really doesnt blitz at all.

U can already tell hes a no nonsense guy. Whoever aint on board with this coach will not see the field. He said this aint baseball. In basball, you have 162 games & can fight your way out of a slump if you're struggling. He said, you cant do that here. So whoever suck on the field & is struggling, they'll be riding the bench. My kind of coach! Im really convinced that the NFL is 100% rigged, but im still gonna watch my Eagles. The Eagles will be must see tv, not just because of the players, but also the coaches

Basically, your physical attributes have nothing to do with your metal capacity to learn and master any position. The ed reed and Jenkins types of players are rare. Dejean may not evolve to that level in the NFL. Let's see.
