These should never have been repaced by the Gemimi 3s. They should have rebranded them with the new livery and gave them better maintenance. Using a B5TL with a D5K on the A19 is asking for problems. The D9B that these have can handle it easily if well looked after. Coastliner managed Leeds to Whitby with these beasts. It's a shame.
Jason Darby They would be even worst, the ones which are for use on Norwich to Peterborough X1 are always off road, high power for E40Ds doesn't go very well, modified B9s like the Ex Greenline 702 B9s is what I'd suggest X10/X9 uses - cope very well at high power or better off, coaches.
Jason Darby the New Enviro 400 MMC's only have a 6.7Litre Cummins Engine which although is bigger its still not big enough for the likes of this route. The only other option I would of suggested is trialling out the Scania MMC 400s as they have a 9Litre Scania engine.
Already the B5TLs are starting to show their reliability which turns out to be crap. They've only been in service for 6 months or September. When I'm on them they work like a dream or no ones business.

Tyrers manages with 2011 B9TLs doing daily motorway services with remapped gear boxes
Can anyone explain what's the leaky fluid coming from the drivers cab @ 9:50??
I belive it was a bottle of water
How fast was this doing as I’ve heard Gemini’s do up to 60mph
These can do 62.5mph
No idea why GNE use them after all the trouble with the Castles ones, surely Enviro 400s would be better? Never see them on high speed route

Intercity Express They are nice buses to travel on, and have plenty of punch for a 5Litre Engine, they just aren't designed for this type off route.
